    Mine still says "NoXroadsname" :x

I hope this problem will be sorted out by the time I get home from college, and if not at LEAST get it fixed before Showtime comes out. :(

So in the interest of research and trying to help with this problem I decided to sign out of the my game having been logged in as me all day.

I saved my game and then quit. I went to restart the game but it wouldn't launch. I noticed in the system tray (right of task bar) that the launcher was still running, it hadn't closed down as it usually does. I close it manually and re-started the game. I logged into the launcher and immediately noticed at the main menu that my password hadn't carried through to there. No surprise I got the NoXRoadsName log in. I signed out again.

Then I tried re-starting the computer, something else I had done this morning but nope, still logging in as NoXRoads *sigh*

So I logged out again and ran CCleaner again. This time when I logged into the launcher it carried my password though to the main menu log in and I signed in as me :?

Something is remaining in cache somewhere that is causing this conflict perhaps?

My only question is, can I play now without logging in and earn achievements? And then when they get all this login server nonsense sorted out and I log in to the right profile, will all the stuff unlock? Otherwise I don't want to play my game till it's fixed :(

It worked for me too, to change my Origin password and using CCleaner (can´t say which of them helped). Thank you so much Hortensis!

Everyone please provide as much info as possible:

    - OS your on
    - Are you using Origin ?
    - Do you have DVDs or Download Versions ?
    - Is your Origin-ID/Email identical with the EA one
    - Whatever comes to mind.

    - Do you have DVDs or Download Versions ? Disks
    - Is your Origin-ID/Email identical with the EA one? The e-mail is the same, but the username showed on Origin is not.
    - Whatever comes to mind. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Origin, as well as changed my password. I did not experience an issue with this yesterday, it began today.

Edit: I had also tried launching the game with and without logging into my account via the launcher and was still getting the same results. I downloaded and ran CCleaner and that seems to have resolved the issue (did not log into the launcher this time after running CCleaner.)

    - OS your on
    I am on Windows 7

    - Are you using Origin ?
    Yes

    - Do you have DVDs or Download Versions ?
I have one download, and the rest DVDs. This was working fine before the patch.

    - Is your Origin-ID/Email identical with the EA one
Email is identical, however the Origin-ID is not. My name was already taken when I went to create a profile. *facepalm*

    - Whatever comes to mind.
I've tried resetting my Origin password, but it does not help me. I am still noXroadsName.

I also just tried launching the game WITH Origin instead of the launcher. But that did not help. :( I figured it was worth a shot, right?

Neither did logging out of the forums and the launcher before loading help.

    - OS your on : Windows 7 64 bit
    - Are you using Origin ? Yup yup!
    - Do you have DVDs or Download Versions ? Digital all the way
    - Is your Origin-ID/Email identical with the EA one My master ID is diff from my EA id but i feel thats not the problem, and i'll explain why in a sec.
    - Whatever comes to mind. So i noticed people ran CCleaner and it fixed their problem for a temp sec while changing their passwords. But i was thinking, Maybe it's not Origins doing it. So i downloaded CCleaner and ran it without changing my password, let it run, and then i logged in though the game. NOT the laucher, the ingame login. It let me in. So i logged off and on, it was me again. I logged onto the forums, which logged me on the launcher. Thats where it gave me the NoXroadsname junk again. Seems to be related to the launcher login.

Edit: Might not even need CCleaner, i tried now just loggin without the launcher logged in and my internet cache wiped though IE and it let me in. Maybe don't even need to whipe the internet chache at all.

I have my email but no noXroadsName
Maybe this isn't suppose to work until we get the new expansion. Is that maybe the problem? But I'm not crazy about my name not being with my game.

Just to let everyone know, I've logged in several times successfully by logging out of the games launcher first, and then loggin in with the ingame login menu. Not sure if this matters but i've also told it not to remember my password.

So that's not it either. It was worth a shot but that

It does work for a lot of people.

Does this logging in even matter right now? Isn't it only for when Showtime comes out?

I am able to play my game if I simply do not log in ... it won't let me anyway. I don't get the incorrect name; it just tells me that my password is wrong with my email. But THAT is wrong b/c it is the same one I use on here and for the launcher, and for Origin as well, if that matters.

The only thing different is that my Origin username and my Sims3 username are different, but they use the same email and password.

So anyway, does it matter right now that we can't log in to the game??

@UB: yeah, I tried that, logging out of everything, and logging in on the game page. It does not work for me, so it is not a universal fix.

I'm betting this is a server bug.

@Faith: As for why it matters... well, we can't play with the new achievements system or the in game social things for those who care about that. And those are rolled out now. I'd like to play with the achievements, personally-- but if the achievements/chatting stuff doesn't appeal to you then yeah... it doesn't much matter. :)
Also... I'd much rather have a bug like this fixed before I get my ep, rather than having to wait a week to fix it AFTER I get my Showtime.

Doesn't matter if you don't care about the achievements just yet. You won't get any if you're not logged in. That's all.

Ah, i'm sorry. I wish it was though, cause for someone like me who will bairly use the system to fix it for myself. I think someone like you deserved the fix more.

No, thanks for posting it! It gave me something else to try. I'm hoping it will work for other people, too. I really figure it's a server bug or something like it. :) I'm just glad the team knows about it, and is working on a fix!!

I worked on this issue for NINE hours yesterday. The very first thing I was told from technical support I am still furious about but I did it anyways (Don't try this at home kids, it doesn't work...) they had me uninstall and reinstall the game and all EPs and stuff packs in the order they were released! 4 hours wasted! (Yeah I know what you're thinking... I thought the same but I did it anyways)

Now, I am running Windows Vista on a core 2 Quad 2.33MHz 8 Gig Ram, Geforce 9500 with 2 Gig video Ram. all of my user names, emails and passwords are identical on the site, the game and Origin.

Things tried with tech supports 'help'

    1) uninstall and reinstall the base game and all EPs and Stuff packs in the order of release (Yep you read that right! And I own ALL of them! 4 wasted hours there!)
    2) Delete the game cache, Windows temp directory and Browser cache
    3) Run game as Administrator
    4) Shut down all running processes other than task manager and explorer
    5) Shut down firewall and anti-virus software
    6) Cycle UAC (User Account Control) on and off
    7) reset password online several times (After 'I made changes to your account' caused me to not be able to even log on at the game level which another tech support later corrected)
remove all saved games from saved game folder and try to run new game
    9) run in 'no custom content' mode not that I had any CC after step 1
