Changing username?

Just wondering but is it possible to change your username? I signed up a while ago when the emails to pre-register your username were sent out and I used the shortened name I had to use on the Sims 2 forums but I've since noticed that you can actually have more characters for your Sims3.com username but I can't find a way to change that, I guess because it's linked to my original EA account.
If I'd known I would have registered the game separately but it's done now.
If not I'd like to put the suggestion in to let people use a different username on this website than the one linked to your main EA account.
