Once again, I know this isn't the forum to post this in, but everyone here has been very helpful in the past, so I'm turning to you in this time of dire need
When I try to start my game, I get a "service initialization failed (0x0175d824)" message that pops up and doesn't allow me to play. I haven't updated my game with the new patch but I played sims 3 yesterday without the update and everything worked fine. Does anyone know if it's the lack of update causing the problems or if it's something else? I'd be more than grateful for any help.

Thank you Do you know how to clean the registry? Sorry, I'm terrible with computers...
I use ccleaner. Its a great tool for scanning your registry for errors and it is also used for cleaning your temp files. its free and totally safe. i have used it for years now and its really easy to install.

But I can try to help, and maybe it helps you: When my launcher fail, i just keep try again and again and again, and at some point it seem to open the game... - No reason why.
Do you remove you cashe files? It should help, but my game keep crashing anyway... Im on a mac so i dont know how to avoid the launcher...
Im so sorry, i know how irritating this is!
Wish you the best of luck to make it work!
But first off, a restart is a good idea Then try avoiding the launcher before something more complicated
Restart my computter...
take the sims disc out... and put it back in...
going around the launcher...
Try again and again....
check my pc for virus (even if it finds no)
Try starting the game with and with out the internet running...
Shuting origin down (or turn it on)....
Run cc cleaner... (getting ride of all coockies..
Let the pc cool down... (give it 30 minuts rest, shut down... even if just started...)
downloading a storeitem....
NO idea why... it is very random...
