Please help :\

Once again, I know this isn't the forum to post this in, but everyone here has been very helpful in the past, so I'm turning to you in this time of dire need

When I try to start my game, I get a "service initialization failed (0x0175d824)" message that pops up and doesn't allow me to play. I haven't updated my game with the new patch but I played sims 3 yesterday without the update and everything worked fine. Does anyone know if it's the lack of update causing the problems or if it's something else? I'd be more than grateful for any help.

I know there is a shortcut to play your game without the Launcher, but I'm not sure why it wouldn't work... But I don't think updating would be the best idea. You might want a second opinion on that though... Good luck!

Aww, I'm sorry to hear about this, Tojax! No good. I found this old thread: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/15/9965.page It sounds like you may need to clean your registry? I hope this helps you.

I use ccleaner. Its a great tool for scanning your registry for errors and it is also used for cleaning your temp files. its free and totally safe. i have used it for years now and its really easy to install.

First off, just try restarting your comp. That has saved me more times than anything else when I can't open the game. I hope you get it working!

so many post on that error, hard to say what is the answer. One is to uninstall and reinstall the game. One is to update frameworks. One is updating video drivers. One is changing resolution on the monitor (or making sure it's setup correctly). another is registry error, not so easy to fix.

Im sorry i dont really have a fix to your problem. Im having major crash issues myself! I had a world of problems creating my santa gift. - Had to do it over and over again due to crashes!

But I can try to help, and maybe it helps you: When my launcher fail, i just keep try again and again and again, and at some point it seem to open the game... - No reason why.

Do you remove you cashe files? It should help, but my game keep crashing anyway... Im on a mac so i dont know how to avoid the launcher...

Im so sorry, i know how irritating this is!

Wish you the best of luck to make it work!

You can avoid the launcher by clicking on the TS3W.exe which is in the base game directory.

But first off, a restart is a good idea :) Then try avoiding the launcher before something more complicated :D

for me... this mix some times work...

    Restart my computter...
take the sims disc out... and put it back in...
    going around the launcher...
    Try again and again....
check my pc for virus (even if it finds no)
Try starting the game with and with out the internet running...
Shuting origin down (or turn it on)....
Run cc cleaner... (getting ride of all coockies..
Let the pc cool down... (give it 30 minuts rest, shut down... even if just started...)
    downloading a storeitem....

NO idea why... it is very random...
