Graphics issues (in create a sim) after update, *includes pics* HELP ?

«1
the game plays perfectly fine before updating ...no issues at all, now with one of the older updates when i used to go into create-a-sim the sliders made the sim turn all shine'y ..i can put up with that because in the game they looked normal, now the latest update....

flwxvm.png

i cant put up with this, the eyes change to purple and yellow and textures are a complete mess, everything else in the game has flawless graphics but i cant create a sim.

i have a laptop, so a new graphics card is not an option, and no amount of changing the graphics settings changes this. this only started happening with the latest update, does anyone else have this or any solutions :(

    Hello Simmers!
Sorry for the delay in response. Thank you all for the screen shots, examples are very helpful. Can you also run a Dxdiag and then post the results for me?

    Thanks

    Hello,

Many fellow Simmers have received errors and problems, such as those you are having, with the Intel HD graphics card. It is integrated and doesn't have sufficient dedicated memory, so it does not play the game well. I would recommend trying to play the game on the lowest settings, as you cannot upgrade your card.

Also, your processor (Intel Core i5 2557M) has a base performance of 1.7 GHz, which would be borderline or won't meet Sims 3 minimum requirements. However, due to Turbo Boost, the CPU can clock to 2.7 GHz, but this requires good cooling and ventilation, which the Macbook Air isn't known to have, so this may also be causing the problems.

    Hope this helps,

    Cody

(PS. I would recommend a laptop cooling station, but there are no underside vents on the Air, so it would be pointless)

i have no problems with the game preformance or speed, i think the solid state drive is helps. but i deffinetly understand what your saying about cooling and ventilation. iv noticed the laptop does get quiet hot but iv found ways of keeping that under control. the game plays perfectly fine much better than on my old laptop which exceeded the requirements.

but this graphics thing makes no sense to me. iv tired it on low and high settings and that makes no difference what so ever to this issue. its only come on since the update

thankyou very much for the response

theres no problems with graphics elsewhere just the sims, so i fail to see how this could be my graphics card

Apparently after the installation of Pets if your graphics card is not supported, you have to buy one that is. There is apparently known issues with G31 and G33 graphics cards. Check the Pets Forum and the Bugs thread therein. Hopefully this will help. Pets is more graphics demanding than the other expansion packs so make sure you have a supported graphics card in addition to meeting all other system requirements.
