1- Issue(s) you are having/noticing since installing the D(original) demo
I installed it and it deleted all of my downloaded content and a few of my games. It also changed the names of places in Riverview to say "LotName:" etc.
I uninstalled the Pets Demo and I was playing fine but whenever I open the launcher it now says "Unable to connect to the online library" or something along those lines. If I haven't saved using Save As, it deletes my save file (just like World Adventures used to).

3- Do you have any new Game Folders in your Game File? Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3
Specifically these two: Collections and SavedOutfits or any others?
I'm unsure.

No.

6- What language is your CAP Demo?

7- Are your games Digital or Physical Discs?

I am trying to download the new demo I took out the old one, but when I go on Origin, it’s still there and I can’t take it off so I can’t get the new demo.
Do I need to take the old one off Origin or will it be the new one if I download it again?
I found this thread after I uninstalled everything, but I must have missed something because I am still getting the error at startup message. Since I uninstalled everything I only have the base game installed so far. Any ideas?
I got rid of the files in my doc folder and now the error at startup message went away-thank you so much for suggesting that. Now lets see if the game will run again...(crosses fingers)
I am having problems installing the cap onto my laptop.I have downloaded origin and when I go to install cap onto my laptop form origin it comes up with a error saying I cant uninstall it but I dont want to uninstall it (well I cant because it isnt even on my laptop! :roll: ) I am very confused and it wont install for me i would really appreciate some help thank you!!!!

And my laptop's security system is fine and says origin is safe and it allows it

So just wondering if anyone figured out anything regarding the distorted pets... I know it's a known issue but it's pretty bad on my end and I don't want to drop $40 for nothing.

For those of you experiencing distorted pets and graphics, make sure all your mods/cc is out of the game files (if any) and please comment on this thread with your graphics card.
Atm, seems that the G33/G31 Graphics Card & ATI Radeon Xpress 1200 Series are the ones with issues.

I started getting this error message when I tried to start a new game. I tried restarting and reinstalling it but it didn't work. I started getting the message after the Create A Pet Demo.
I installed the pets demo before any of these posts were up. I did not back anything up. I worked on it for a while and gave up and uninstalled EVERYTHING. Then with a blank computer, I reinstalled the game and eps and stuff packs.
My base game will install just fine and works.
None of the expansion packs will install without the "error at start up, please check log for details" message.
I am fine with all my saved sims and games being gone. Most of the fun for me is creating new people and houses.
I would love to get back to it though.
Has anyone had this problem or ideas on how to fix it?
I did the live chat with 4 EA people, not helpful at all.
I dont mind losing saved games. I like to create new stuff so no big deal.
Why were we not warned before downloading the piece of crap demo that it would screw up our games?
I have Sims 3 base, Sims Ambitions, Sims World Travels all downloadable by origin. I have Sims Generations disc and Sims high Loft Stuff on disc

I have done everything that EA chat has recommended: manually uninstalled and reinstalled my game. Turned off my firewall, deleted temp files, deleted caches, deleted saved games. EVERYTHING and STILL GET THIS ERROR! I have done everything advised here on this forum. What else can I do????? I just bought Sims3 Pets. Do I get my money back???
I'm having the same issues as everyone else since downloading the demo, it should have come with a warning that it was not a stand alone demo but worked with your game. I am currently trying to restore my sims games and am hoping that will work as I can't even uninstall the demo as I keep getting the following error (-5005 : 0x8007000d) there is an option to report that error in the pop up box but when I click on that a window opens in chrome telling me I can't do that! :roll:
I get the 'There was an error during startup. Please see the log for more details.', so I followed your tutorial on fixing it, but when I went to My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder the folders that I'm supposed to delete things from aren't there.
Is there any solution to that?

Maybe EA should have warned us before offering the demo for download to backup, backup, backup. I know I am not the only one who watched the digital town hall when the demo was released and never heard them say BY THE WAY IF YOU INSTALL THIS ON A COMPUTER YOU ALREADY HAVE THE SIMS 3 ON IT WILL **** EVERYTHING UP!
1. "There was an error during startup please see log for more details" After contacting chat support 6 times in 4 days I have done everything they suggest and no change whatsoever. As a last resort I did the call back on EA.com that was even less helpful when the customer support guy told me that my computer does not meet the minimum system requirements and will never be able to run the game, but maybe I could play the base game without a patch. (nevermind i have been playing the sims 3 with all eps and sps perfectly fine until the demo)
I have done the manual uninstall and completely wiped my system of the game as well as the demo. base game installs perfect launcher works, as soon as the patch is installed the error message comes back. I have tried the patch via launcher and manual install no difference. I read the post and well the files to delete do not exist, worldcache folder not there.

I have had to do a system restore roll back 6 times. I have contacted customer support on thesims3.com and eagames.com neither are helpful at all. in fact the guy from ea told me i needed to buy a new computer that was capable of meeting the system requirements and when i read the game case requirements he had the nerve to tell me "i don't know where you got those but that's not right". I hope a solution to the patch causing startup problems can be found. I preordered pets in july and will be extremely angry if i am unable to use it and have wasted my money.
Hmmm... I have both the Saved Outfits and Collections folders which weren't there before but I managed to get my game working again by deleting the missingdeps.idk file in my DCCache folder. Should I delete those two folders?

Do I need to update and if so, I'm not sure which Chipset to download off the Intel website. Any help is appreciated..
