Nintendo dogs + cats or sims 3 pets for 3DS?

I will be getting a 3DS this fall and I think I'll be purchasing one of these games. I LOVE the graphics in Nintendo dogs + cats but it looks like you can do a lot more in sims 3 pets for 3DS (especially love having animal families). I know the original sims 3 for 3DS was a flop though. I hope this one does a better job. What they really need to do is also add human babies to 3DS sims like they did in the ambitions for iphone version. It's my favorite portable sims game. I always play that one on vacation when I don't have my PC.
