Ok seriously, this has now been on forums since 2010... Latenight!
My sim town gathers outside of a location, moans, eventually starves and dies. This is all people (NCP). My sim has no-one to interact with unless she goes to the lot where everyone is miserable. Yes I can reset an individual or all, but they just rush right back. Yes I can delete the lot entirely, then they just pick another lot. And of course this causes lags... So I can't play. I have tried a bunch of things. I certainly don't wish to "fix" my game with a mod, I want it actually fixed! I think that EA should fix the game I paid of, call me crazy. My computer is fine. It is in fact the "gasp" game... What a surprise with so many people having the same issue... it clearly is not a spec or platform issue.
I don't have cc or mods. I only use store content. I have a new computer. PS this is after installing on my pc since my game won't work on my brand new mac...
Seriously, I am about over it unless someone has a real fix that doesn't involve doing really basic things that I already tried or reinstalling... What I would love is for EA to take care of business, but clearly there is no intent to do so or this would be done.
I am also having this issue, and reset doesn't work for me. And after moving my Sims into the bin and trying to move them back into town, everything that was in their inventory has disappeared. I want to be able to enjoy my game and play peacefully. Please Help!
My Sim turned invisible for a while and then he becomes an entirely different person, each time with a random name. His traits are also changed, but he still looks the same. I think this happened because I was building on a purchased property, which he decided to move into. I have also recently installed the steampunk kitchen content. I would appreciate it if someone could suggest a solution.
My issue seems to be only pets. Two of my cats freeze if asked to do anything that makes them leave the floor....Very odd. resetSim firstname lastname works though.
Okay, so ever since my teenage sim was grounded by her mother and tried sneaking out, she has been stuck in the "sneak" type walking. She is now a young adult and is still stuck in that type of walking. I have noticed that the "hunted" moodlet, causes by an unfriendly vampire, has been with her and not gone away ever since she got her part time job as a teen as well.
I have late night, pets, and generations, and high end loft stuff pack.
I have little CC.
My system meets the requirements.

I've had that once. Make sure there's a copy of the lot in the bin, delete it with the bulldozer, even with the sims there, mine were. They all left the abandoned lot afterward. Give the game a few sim hours or more, and then put it back. I put my SAME dive bar back and I haven't had it happen again. GOOD LUCK. I think something goes haywire with getting all the sims to the hotspots. I think they said they've worked on it, maybe they've overdone it.

I've found many times with The Sims series that the best way to unstick an action is to repeat it.

So I have to get her grounded again? But she is a young adult now.
This may sound like a stupid question but is there anyway to remove patches? My game was working fine until the last one, and I'd rather have ever-opaque light fixtures than a disappearing Sim.
 Okay so I wont feel bad for posting this. I have been with the sims since it first came out in 2000. I have payed good money for this game, called EA, Emailed EA. Yet my game lags, my Sims freeze and then are standing like idiots next to buildings they were in or plants they were picking. I even got a new graphices card and power supply thinking that was the cause. What the front door is causing these issues and when is a fix coming EA???
:!: I want to uninstall these last three patches because I never had these problems untill I laoded these new "patches".
I run Windows 7, 600 wt pS, EVGA - GefoForce 550 TI 1GB GDDR5, 680 GB Hard Drive. This game should work fine but it doesnt!!!
I have just installed Sims 3 plus pets. I was having so much trouble with the pets that I uninstalled and just tried with the base game. Now, I can't even get pass the Create-a-Sim screen! I haven't downloaded anything. I have no CC. I don't know what to do! I feel like I've wasted $40. Can anyone help me? EA is worthless.
Here is my information... tell me if it is me or my computer please! Should I re-install and not do the update? I think its the update for some reason!

EDIT: Oops sorry I meant to post this in the Supernatural Bug forum.
Hello!
I know it says on the front page that the invisible sim issue has been around for a long time, but I have only started experiencing it since installing Supernatural. Also it is in a new save game, I have not revisited my old saves since installing. This has also not happened with the active family but I've noticed it when out and about in town e.g. floating thought bubbles and books.
Is there a way to figure out which sim it is so that I can try the fixes like making them change clothes or at least be able to delete them?
Also, I see that you have werewolves not being able to transform back to human form as a bug. Is it also a bug that they do not change automatically once a full moon is over? The only way they are ever human again is if I force them to change, by changing active household and manually clicking "transform".
I also have some of the other bugs listed. Not sure if they only fix bugs when a certain threshold is met with the number of people experiencing it?
Still highly irritated that townies are CONSTANTLY in their (pretty darn ugly) work clothes but then that has been around for ages hasn't it? Not sure when it started...
Hey! Any familiar faces from the 2-year-old Lag/Invisible Sim thread? I see Crinrict is still doing the noble work of providing as much help as possible without any assistance at all from EA. Good on ya.
To the point... against my better judgment, I added Generations, Showtime, and Seasons to my Sims 3 collection, started playing again, updated all my Overwatch / MC / Story Progression NRAAS mods, and enjoyed a couple days of headache-free gameplay! And now, in an entirely new town (which came with Showtime I think?), just about 8 weeks into this household, the stalling / lagging Sims has made its expected return. Now, I can enjoy my game 15 Sim minutes at a time, and then twiddle my thumbs for 10 realtime seconds while the game catches up. And the cycle repeats, without fail, forever. 15 Sim minutes is hardly anything. It is unplayable. And I am feeling incredibly stupid for even bothering with this game again.
Something new I noticed, with Overwatch, is the reported "4,137 cars have been removed" message that shows up nightly. Holy Jesus. I'll attempt, when I have the patience, to remove all driveways from the neighborhood and see if that cuts down any of the stalling. The generation of 4,000+ vehicles throughout one Sim day seems like it'd be a likely cause of Some sort of lag. But I won't get my hopes up. I wonder what EA has to say about these issues?
Add me to the long list of people having issues. The last time I played Sims without issues was with Pets. I haven't played since around last winter. With the recent releases, especially Seasons, I thought it was about time toget back into it, especially considering I was VERY excited about Seasons.
I only got to day 4 in my game when one of my Sims got stuck and I couldn't do anything (type in a cheat to reset or save or anything, despite the plumbob and beach sounds still goin on). So I force quit out of the game, loaded it back up, and now everyone is invisible and nothing I'm trying is working. Even sims I didn't create are invisible. Nothing I'm trying is working, not mods, not resetSims. I tried ErrorTrap and sims only became visible when I clicked on objects (when their faces usually pop up when you go through the options of what you can do with items). From that I saw that it rerolled every single one of my sims, which I was not okay with. So I tried MasterController. I used MC to reset all sims in a household and they all appeared in new horrendous outfits, which was fine, as long as they still had the same faces that took me forever to create. Then I went to another invisible household to reset them using MC since it worked in another household. Half of that family got completely rerolled. I'm not okay with this. I could understand if they were causing the issues, but I know for a fact that they're not, since they're my main household that I've been playing a year or more, I'm not okay with the rerolls. I am about to try the DebugEnabler to see if that will work but I'm having doubts. I'm also trying to avoid going to other main households in previous neighborhoods from the other expansions but I don't want to be even more disappointed.
I forgot to mention that yes, I do use cc and upon doing research and finding a website if all types of cc being the cause of game issues, I made sure to delete anything I found listed. My newer sims wear the most cc, hence why I'm sure it was one of my newer houses I added to have more sims for my main house, but even deleting the bad .pack and .packages files don't change anything. Everyone is STILL in invisible. Trying the Debug mod tomorrow. I've never used mods before I started having these issues, so having to do this is annoying, to say the least.
Nope, the Debug Enabler mod also does not work. Great.

So I have to get her grounded again? But she is a young adult now.

Here is my information... tell me if it is me or my computer please! Should I re-install and not do the update? I think its the update for some reason!

Cricket, cricket.
Teehee
Great.
