Welcome to Brooklyn Heights, a bustling city that also offers a more quiet suburbia for sims to enjoy. If your two top complaints about Bridgeport were the lack of family housing and the gloomy atmosphere, you will definitely enjoy this world! Besides plenty of family homes, parks and places to go, this city also offers a brighter and happier place to be. This world also has a save file.

Requirements: Sims 3 + World Adventures + Ambitions + Late Night
World Size: Large
Empty Lots: 29
Total # of Lots: 109
What is Included: This world has all rabbit holes, a library, gym, consignment shop, salon, junk yard, graveyard, fire station, community gardens, parks, beaches, fishing spots, and a variety of LN clubs.

Hey SR - hows the new addition? Sure, I'll take it for a spin. YOU KNOW I love your worlds - always have. Okay, going to go check out the site changes and download. Later...

Edit to add: Awwwww, the babies are darling. I know how that feels to have 3 under age 5 at the same time and I was only 22. Believe me, you will never forget those days - but do cherish them as they will fill your future with a heck of a lot of wonderful memories to share with them when they have their own little one on the way.

    But so cute.

Okay I've downloaded and looked around the site. Looks good. I was glad to see a few of the houses I had lost when I had this machine rebuilt and realized I had gotten them from you, so I grabbed a few of those too. hehehe. Will let you know how it goes.

Just few replies for such an amazing world O.o

I had a chance to play with Brooklyn Heights for few hours and I have to tell that it's gorgeous! - just as all the other worlds you've created  The map looks fantastic  love the shape of the world - beautiful! The only issue I've experienced was related with the suspension bridge - my sim doesn't have her own car so she uses a taxi. I sent her to the central park and she got out of the taxi in the middle of the bridge; jumped down from the bridge and run to the nearest subway station to get there; the same thing she did when she was driving back home, but this time she jumped up onto the bridge (it was funny though). I think that Sims-non routable marking might help here if you'll paint that area under the bridge all the way to the subway that's near the bridge . Other than that - no issues were found; no lags and freezing. Beautiful world!

Many blessings to you, your newborns and your family! :)

Thank you for taking it for a spin. I have actually noticed and fixed the issue with the bridge - it is a LONG story but I actually had to remove the non-sim paint. Either way have that part fixed so since I haven't had any issues either I plan to finish up some more lots and upload a newer version once again.

Yep, I played it several hours tonight and I have to say my sims did not do that. They both stayed in the taxi both going to town and coming back home. I wish they had, it was probably hilarious.

First the hood plays wonderfully. I filled a whole little group of houses with some born in game Sims of Tangies (HappySimmer3), which are all set up as roommates - 4 to a house, plus I added two of my testing Sims as roommates together, then 3 single sims in parts of the downtown map, and finally 3 of my tester sim families after i made sure everything seemed to be going smoothly, and I still did not get any lag or weirdness even suddenly moving in that many Sims - which was good.

I had planned on putting the small families and the 3 single households in the high rises, but I could not tell what was what, even though they show them as housing, and give an address, I have no clue any info about any of the apartments, so I just scattered them about in the houses on the downtown side. I did not know if you hadn't yet given those any descriptions, or it the game had erased them, as I have seen it do that more times than I can count. Also most other buildings you can see what they are by the little icon, but for some reason some of the buildings are just showing the park bench and when you click on it and you see the address. Could you please give me a clue - where is the grocery store? I looked all over and cannot seem to find it. Usually you see the shopping cart, but I can't spot it anywhere. Knowing me I'm just missing it. But other than that I didn't see anything strange or out of sorts.

Very nice job for sure. It makes downtown very tolerantable now - as like you I could not stand Bridgeport and the lack of family residental areas outside of town in LN. The few other towns I have tried so far either were so massive it took forever to get from the burbs to town, sims couldn't keep a job, but this is just perfect. A prime example of eating our cake and keeping it too.

How you did it with 3 little ones is beyond me, but I am glad you did. You must have really, REALLY hated Bridgeport. hehehe

Anyway, I really love it. Beautiful job, and I will defintely be a happy camper with the finished world. I think this is going to be my new favorite world of yours.

Yes I forgot the grocery store - its in my newer version which I had meant to upload last night... looks like that will be a tonight project. Interesting that your sims didn't walk onto the bridge, mine did too - must be a weird routing thing. Glad to hear that it is running smoothly - it sounds like the 1 simmer who had some lag and myself were the exception. And I really wanted to like Bridgeport its just that it was so gloomy and had just the most bizarre layout I could never find anything. But the poll results on MSR look like most simmers want another city so... we'll see :)

Bridgeport literally made me ill, when ever I went downtown with a sim the way it bounced up and down. Dolldrms and several other simmers reported the same thing, and forget it if you wanted normal decent size families. There was just no decent places to place residences. But for the first time since Sims games came out I not only did not spend a solid week playing the new ep town, I could not even stand but three hours. I found myself going to several old worlds and rebuilding them and using select Bridgeport buildings. Of course it never looked as good as a world build for such buildings, but at least it didn't make me ill and I had plenty of room to raise my families. I keep wondering what the Sims 3 team has against families, as since Sims 3 came out they seemed intent on pushing the singles scene and getting us away from the family sandboxes that has always made the Sims games so popular.

But anyway, enough of that, as you obviously figured out how to make a city and families be able to live together in peace and without giving us simmers nausia. I love it.

I have a feeling perhaps my sims didn't do the walk thing because I sent both of them together to first eat at the restaurant in the business building instead of sending them to start skilling on their seperate ways, as the first three skills both needed, and the were hungry at the start for some odd reason, so it worked out and they shared a cab all the way there. I honestly did not watch them go home separately and just assumed they had stayed in the car as by then I was searching for the grocery store and had just clicked on each to go home. Usually unless there is a pathing problems, sims do go home without us having to follow. But I was hoovering over each park bench downtown and even checking underground for the store. it is good to know it was just not there. I could have placed one in the town, but did not want to do it if there was already one there and I was just being blind. By the time I gave up looking, I went back to their house, and both were sleeping in their beds.

I usually like my first visit to a world to see how it handles an infux of sims first. Then secondly I see how sims got from point a to point b just with me filling their Queue with commands. I don't follow them at this point, I just keep an eye on their to do list panel and look for the whole queue list to abruptly close or for a pathing signal to come up. Once I have sent at least one sim to every rabbit hole with no problem, I check the secondary non-rabbit hole Comm lots. These I follow them to because they are made by simmers and sometimes there are tears or something else amiss. I also try to play a household a full work week, so I can see spawners and such. Finally on a day off I will again send a sim from point A to point B, but this time I will lock onto their sim so I can check roads first by car and bike. I will do it yt again with jogging and sidewalks. I obviously had not tested to that point yet or probably would have had at least one incident of the walking over or under the bridge you guys spoke of - I just know they did not do it on the initial trip into town.

SR, I am so sorry your children are ill. I remember those days with everyone sick at once.
Your new world is looking good. I refuse to play Bridgeport as well as Twin Bridges. what is it with EA, they have really dropped the ball in designing nice worlds. Thank heavens for creative designers like you. Your worlds are lovely. I am so pleased that you do not use CC. I love Anju Falls and Cascade Shores..
I am bookmarking this site and looking forward to watching your progress. :D

I finally got a chance to play your revised world last night, and didn't experience any problems or issues. Love the way it's laid out and as others have mentioned I appreciate the space for regular homes. I moved 5 adults into the Lincoln apt. and everything is working great.

One idea I had for the shells you are leaving for future expansions - you could change them to commercial, name them things like "Simlife Mutual Insurance" or "Simolean National Bank" and mark them no visitors allowed. That would keep them from showing up in Edit Town as purchasable for $0, wouldn't it?

@Moefy - Can you be a bit more specific? How long is the lag, is it frequent or just once in awhile? Are you running any CC? Since there are no other reports of freezing at all, I have to wonder if it is actually the world or perhaps your computer?

Still playing great for me SR. I only ended up play - testing another couple of hours - but I have yet to see any problems at all. But if I do see something I will let you know. I plan on going back in there later today and adding a couple more highly skilled families I like to try in worlds because they are large families - 7 sims and they were born in game as well as all their kids. Their kids are now either all YA or late teen and ready to turn YA, and were skilled all the way through. So I just add them and their home to a world and let them do their things while I play other households.

But if I see any problems I'll let you know.

Just a thought - moefy, are you playing the original downloaded file or did you redownload the updated one? The file you should be using is called Brooklyn Heights v. 1.0 and it was posted on March 16th here:

    http://www.mysimrealty.com/

If you are using the updated file, I don't know what to suggest. So far I have not run into any problems with this world at all.

An excellent suggestion making sure you have version 1.0 - you can also tell in game because the BETA version does not have a description nor does it have a picture. If not, I also am not sure what to tell you as I haven't seen or experienced this at all.
