I'm so sorry you guys are having such a rough time installing and playing your game. My computer isn't anything great, but from the second I put the DVD in, I haven't had any of the problems you guys are experiencing. My download manager thing sometimes pops up with an error, which I send to EA but other then that my simming time has been a blast! I didn't feel ripped off when I got my special edition, even though yes, I thought I was going to get the Prima Guide too.. but once I re-read what I ordered, I realized I was the wrong one.
If I could ask the EA gods from above, I would really really really like the Piano and Drum kit back. Those were 2 of my favorite items, and all of the OFB expansion pack. I miss running my own buisness, but hopefully they will bring it for the sims 3.
Good luck simmers, and I really hope you guys can stick with it, and have as much fun as I've been having.
