Timeless Beauties Calendar Girls: Here We Are Now, Entertain Us-Closed For Scoring

2kfos3.jpg
Hello boys and girls! Seren is still having problems with the forum (as am I but not as bad as seren), so if you all don't mind, I'm hosting again
We lost a few people last round, some on sad terms, some on happy terms. So if there are no dropouts, there will be an elimination
Sooooo if you haven't guessed by the subject title, this assignment is.......

90's Grunge!

Maybe you'd rather run and hide than leave the house looking like you just rolled out of bed, but it was cool in the '90s. Peeps wanted to look disheveled and flaunted their long, greasy locks.
88900_f520.jpg?w=520&h=380
Grunge is not about wearing anything new, and true grunge is when you get some jeans and rip them yourself. Hair does not really matter; it can be long or short, coloured, just preferably messy.
Hole-in-1993-002.jpg
But, you didn't have to be a misbehavin' dude out of Seattle (the birthplace of grunge music and fashion) to look grunge. Teens everywhere were sporting this look.
1990s-grunge-wear.jpg
Doc Marten boots, beanies, baggy and stonewashed jeans, tartan and wearing rock concert T-shirts under plaid, flannel shirts were the trend of not caring.
grunge_and_glory-13.jpg

So start raiding those thrift stores, stop washing that hair, rant about not becoming a part of some bland corporate mechanism and show us your interpretation of Grunge!!!

Assignment 6
Theme: Grunge. Show us the Grunge movement. Representation is totally up to you!
Year/Month: 1991-1993, January.

What you'll be judged on

Did you keep to the 1991-93s Grunge fashion? Is your background and extras set in the years 1991-93?

Is your Calendar Girl standing out from the crowd, or blending into the background?

Are the walls up or down? We'd prefer to see walls up, where they should be.

Are those pesky thought bubbles showing?

Are any extras in your picture behaving themselves?

RULES
1. Please be kind to each other, rudeness will not be tolerated.
2. No face plastering of any kind.
3. We will give extensions when needed, but to make it fair, we ask that you let us know TWO days before the due date, so others can take advantage of the extension. However, we will take into account things such as Patches and game issues ( we know you can not plan those issues)
4. No major changes to model once submitted, unless we allow for it in an assignment. The exception to this rule is CC skin, if skin is causing your game to have issues, I do not mind if you need to change it, just please try to keep it close to the original colour. I will also make exceptions on a case to case basis. ( I understand CC can go wonky) We request that eye colour stay the same, but if you need to remove CC eyes or contacts, that's fine.
5. Hair colour and make up can be changed at any time, it's up to you!

Scoring:

Scoring will be a 100 point process.

As you know, no eliminations for that round!
We welcome back Pixie as our third judge and we judged just a little harder but it's only because you keep pushing our expectations higher with every assignment

Comments: The gloves, that eyeshadow, the veil could you get more 80's?! The dress even has a bit of a Madonna feel with the bodice being a corset. You really got the 80' fashion down here Sun and I love it. I also really love the lighting in this photo. You've done such a fantastic job!

The sweet and demure hairstyle accompanied by an innocent and humble pose and facial expression!!! Too many exclamation marks? Probably, but I need to emphasise how awesome it is!! Just remarkable capture of the 80's virginal bride Sun, and the edit of the sun's reflection? Perfection.

Comments: Oh, I adore this picture. I don't actually know what to say, because to me this pic actually looks like it could be an old pic of an 80's wedding reception that someone found in the back of their closet. It's a moment in time pic and those are hard to judge. Honestly, Panda, I just don't think you could change a thing in this pic. The clothing is perfect and the extras are behaving. WOW! I love that it looks like they are just taking a moment to themselves in the middle of the party.

I like how it's a bit dark as well, her dress and gloves gives a little goth vibe which started in that decade. It's very edgy, eighties and excellent JK!

Their hair..wow, you nailed it perfectly. I love the Groom's flair of hot pink and our Bride looks stunning. You had a cute idea, and I liked how you has the year and date on your add. However I definitely wasn't a big fan of all the red. It looked to much. With the pink on top of it, the colours clashed. I did like your model's pose, and I like how you went for a coloured wedding gown instead of a normal white one. Beautiful! I loved the background you chose, and the dress is nice! I think the thing that ruined this picture for me was the hair drawn on, I know you took time drawing it and it's a very hard thing to do (I gave you extra points for creativity) however it didn't speak 80's to me, and it was missing the back of the hair, you drew all the front but not the back.

This was a cute idea o advertising the dress, however i don't think I would buy it. Simply because the setting is a bit boring, maybe if you had her in more of a weddish scenery and the text with it, it would seem more like a bridal add. So, I am so sorry I had to score so low, but this just does not look like an 80's bride pic to me. If I didn't know the assignment, this pic could be anything. That being said, it didn't strike me as 80's. You've got the perfect hairstyle but it's hidden and a bit dark with the lighting effect. I want a little more oomph, it's the 80's, loud and proud!

Of course not! No, no, no, no, no, no... well yes.
C'mon, give me a break poida! Do you know how hard it was to find chicks associated with grunge? Very. So much that I had to sink low and put up Courtney. At least she looks human there

I can't view Cassandra atm simsolated due to my net but when I can, I'll email it to seren.

Thanks for letting me know Sun. There is nothing wrong with the link, the forum just keeps adding to the address when you clicked it, weird.

Yaaay !!! We are SO glad you guys are enjoying the Grunge theme! I've been waiting for this theme for WEEKS! I adore the grunge era. And so far I'm not disappointed! Great pics.

Yes, * drum-roll* I CAN see the pics...atm. LOL I had a little trouble getting past the oops page but I made it this time. We should re-name me the little Chrissy That Could !

Sun- love the new avi, very cute!

Simpixie!! I heard bout your good news and I'm so excited for you. Congrats!

Now, I am hoping when I hit 'enter' I can come back, but if like last time I tried I can not come back, just know I'm trying to and I'm thinking of you all! And just in case i can't get back before Monday HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY !!!

Meh, you'll either get exactly what he is doing in the picture or be like "Ohhh... That's what he is doing..."

Not only was grunge popular but a favorite past time (atleast in my neck of the woods) was Skateboarding <3 and where else to go skateboarding but LOVE Park in Philly in the 90's

 I'm glad someone sees it since it's kinda hard to take a picture where someone is suppose to be doing an ollie (sp?) with out the skateboard. I would love it if they put that in game, I think all of my teenagers would be skaters.
