Here's some pics, new ones further on down the page, it is done!
Coastal living, Chinatown, High rises, neighborhood square, military housing, cliffside living, and some empty lots for you to build on. Custom clubs except two, some Maxis houses as I don't have a big library :oops: This is a city so foodtrucks will be mobile. No CC and Custard-checked

I would love to try to incorporate some West Coast native art as there is some lovely work, still thinking of totem poles too....here's a couple pics:
The winter olympics were just there, I thought about building a little Whistler which is where many of the events were, but I think I am far too impatient to wait that long.... ***I am having a little problem with my Distant Terrain I am getting help with, I should be finished soon!

It would be wonderful if you could add a flavour of the indigenous people from that part of the world, it`s beautiful. Nice work so far.

I've got some of the landmarks in the wrong place but was too far into road placement, etc. when I noticed I'd goofed. As you can see though, very little rock is showing. I've seen your world too, it looks good

I know they're pretty ugly now, but you just can't have Vancouver without Vancouver Specials! That and an asian district...
And the really bright East Indian ppls houses over on Marine Dr. I really like the Cobalt Blue one by Oak St.

No problemo, Vancouver is just such a big city I had to choose what I was going to put in and leave out. I also should have tried to do a better job on Stanley Park, but I wanted to try to keep this large map playable and have it run smoothly, so had to make some sacrifices

Anywhoo Sneakfeline0, I quite like your world and have started playing on it, however there seems to be a few booboos...
A lot of the buildings (like the hospital) we're renamed to reflect the real buildings,(like VGH) (some lots didn't have names or addresses either) which in reality is a lot minor compared to..
The town hall doesn't work >_< It doesn't register as being an actual...rabbit hole or anything really. My sim wanted to be "leader of the free world" and when I tried to replace your building with a premade one, it still didn't work >_> I love your Vancouver city hall and was wondering if you new how I could fix it.
Anyways good job on your world and thank you for showing off vancouver in the best light

It is very hard to make an exact replica of a city with the tools and objects we are given in Create A World unfortunately, so all I will say is I tried my best to use real names for the buildings, but there is also not a lot of room for an accurate naming of a building in Create A World, or when you are building a house even. I'm sure other CAWsters and builders can attest to that!
I did miss a few addresses, sorry, I did a fairly big reshuffle of some lots at the end :oops:.
And heck, building a world is a lot of work and I usually start to get so sick of building the lots I do use some Maxis lots and did include this info in my description of the world.
As for your City Hall, mine is showing properly, when I go to edit town, it has the City Hall icon and I just tried to get a job at City Hall in game and it does let me. Did you save the lot before you deleted it? If not I could upload mine to you via this thread and Mediafire if you'd like
What I meant was that the buildings "like sacred spleen memorial" weren't renamed to VGH and one of the beaches, has no name and is a completely closed off property (luckily easily fixable
I understand the fact that there isn't a lot that can be done with the tools at hand I find the world you created quite remarkable and I'm having fun playing a fake life in my city xD So I do not mean any disrespect whatsoever. I just kind of find it like watching a favourite movie on tv, and you get so excited knowing its on, and when your favourite scene is about to appear, its edited out because of commercials, you feel like you have to say something even though you still love the movie. (does that make any sense? never mind me I'm just a little crazy...)
As for the city hall, I did find city hall when I had started the game (made my sim and move in to house etc.) but I had to go to work, so I saved and closed out of the game. When I returned last night, I couldn't for the life of me find the city hall, and had to go looking for it through edit town.
I didn't save any of the changes I had made. I would have if the changes had worked, but since they didn't I just quit without saving.
So your lot is still the way you designed it in the game. I'm just baffled that it wont show up as town hall anymore. I mean my sim can't even get inside the building >_<
Maybe it was just glitching. I'll try re downloading the world and hopefully the reboot will get it working again.
