Problem with Edit In Game

Hello!
I've been creating a world of my own in CAW and up until now everything has gone smoothly. Now, however, I've started experiencing problems when trying to edit the world in game: whenever I scroll close to the ground it disappears and turns blue. It does this even with mountains, and I'm not sure if the problem is with the water level or something entirely different. Has anyone else experienced this odd phenomenon? Is there anything I can do?
The blue stripes prevent me from editing the lots as I can't get close enough to the ground to actually place anything there. The Edit In Game feature used to work just fine a few weeks ago, but not anymore.

If so, that's great news as I've already finished creating community lots. I'd have liked to edit some more lots before exporting, but I guess I'll survive even if I won't...
