help sims won't go to sleep

since installing late night I can't get my sims to go to bed. they just stand there or get stuck in the bed and I have to reset them if they do actually get to go to bed. I lost my children to the government because the game wouldn't let me put them to bed or feed them and they were taken away by the social worker what's up with that
