Declaring a room

This is something that has bothered me since the original Sims.
There should be some kind of way to have a Sim declare a room (in their home) "theirs"... this would greatly help situations where you have 2 or more family units in the same house... not to mention bathrooms. The Sims 3 does a much better job, but having your own room and bathroom etc, would be more realistic and helpful.
