Music volume glitches.

After finally getting my game to run correctly (thanks to the now infamous 'Patch 0.0.0.0'), I have come across a new, highly annoying bug. Whenever I am in a non-Live Mode state (CAS, Build/Buy, Main Menu, etc.) some of the music tracks play at full, ear-splitting volume regardless of my music volume settings, while others play at the correct volume.
Does EA (or anyone else) have an explanation as to why this is happening and a possible fix? Even better, could EA please - for the love of Sims and all that is Simmy - provide a way to disable and/or set the volume of this music separately to the Live Mode radio music?
