before anyones wondering iola is my actual name :-)

I decided to build a load of starter houses, and upload them for anyone else to use,and if anyone has any starter houses they want to show you're welcome to upload or advertise them here :)

*thread update: after a long absence from the sims, due to college/exams, I have decided to return, and have a new starter house to add...see bottom of thread*

These particular starter houses are beach themed, but I will do other themes after my 7th beach house, so if any one has any ideas/requests for themes or such feel free to comment

It looks great, and I love the blues and sort of worn-out look to all the wood. Nice job!

(I imagine you're building in lieu of using CAW, like me?!) haha

home now, so tired, im going to upload the other starter house now, then i shall have to upload the 2 other houses for challenges before i forget

@misscbong yes! haha :( i miss CAW, iv built alot of french quarter houses and starter houses out of boredom i want my CAW back :( ambitions kept me occupied for abit but now im just thinking of building houses for CAW

and @Retaf yeah trying to keep all of them bellow 16,500 so any sim can move right in, and thats good :) i think the exchange issues are the doll, which my lots dont/shouldn't have, but better safe than sorry i suppose :)

    drowssap,
These are great! I just love starter homes and I wouldn't guess that these came in under the 16,500 at all. I do wish the slide show went a little slower, I like to take my time looking over pictures and these go by so fast. I also especially appreciate that they are free of CC.

    @ Jessa_Dakkar
thankyou for the feedback, i will make the slide show speed slower in the future, i would change them now but im away from my pc, and i made them through animation shop (photobucket wasnt working for some reason) so i wasnt sure what speed settings

i avoid CC , but cant get enough of the store content, but im going to try and avoid uploading any items containing store content unless its free stuff,

    and thankyou,
dont have time to check over spellings, i must go, not on my pc

    Hi Iola,
I already commented on your first starter. I really like your other two starters, too. You're great in building them. Can't wait for modern ones.
I gave you some recs! :D

Another wonderful starter, drowssap. :) I am looking forward to seeing more starter builds, I love them. I would like to see some landscaping with them, too. Doesn't have to be much, but some would be nice. Do you build with a sim on the lot?
  • drowssapdrowssap Posts: 2,007 Member

you figured out my secret aha :) yes i move a sim in, for a few hours so the price will drop then evict them, and iv been thinking that too about the landscaping, its quite hard with such a small budget, and as these ones are kind of beach style, depending on were the're placed lots of landscaping might look odd, but iv got some ideas for modern houses :)!

Well, :D have I got another secret for you! Not only does depreciation work wonders for lowering the cost and allowing you to include more/better items....
    But..
Get the sim you've moved in to use maxed in handiness. All build items are much cheaper. ;) :::whispers::: but don't tell anyone!!

Wow... these are wonderful. I admire anyone who can build cheap starter houses that look this good. I tried to build one once - I really got into it as well - then when I looked at the final price tag it was $50,000. *****.

Also the blue house you built looks like a smaller version of my aunt and uncle's house. Even the colours are eerily accurate. Lol. I do believe 3 extra recs and downloads are coming your way. ;)

Edit: Why on earth is "woo.ps" censored?? That's what I typed first paragraph and for some reason they've blocked it... ?!

awww thankyou! :)! cheer'd me up abit,
and iv been practising alot i suppose, i always create new sims so im always creating starter houses, so after a while it gets to be a pain, so i thought i might as well make a whole bunch so i cant ever run out,

and the blue house :)! that's my fav so far anyway, i got the idea from a house plan site, but had to change alot of it to work for a starter, and the colours were different but im proud of it

think im going to start another one, not sure what colour to go for next, yellow ? purple ? white ? mm we'll see,

they do block some strange words, sometimes its because its similar to another word, but i dont see what awful word thats similar too  haha
