Buying via download

I was thinking about bying ambitions from the ea website as download as i suddenly began to think.

If you buy a sim game via download how are you going to play it then. Normally the game asks you for a cd. So how is this going to work could someone explain me?

It downloads to the EA Download Manager and you install it from there.
And I believe you play it from there, also. :-)

but you dont get the case or instruction booklet for the same price you can get both!

You don't need to have the internet up to play, you just click on the Ambitions Icon and it will load the game laucher. I have Sims 2 & 3 and WA on digital download but not HELS so the having the disk in constantly drives me crazy. Also the digital download takes FOREVER to load, literally hours. Even though I hate having the disk I pre-ordered Ambitions as a disk because I seriously think I would lose my mind waiting 5 hours for it to load.

As far as I know, you do not have to be online to play the game. Personally, I would never order the games online. I prefer to have the disc. It's faster and it's easier if you ever have to uninstall/reinstall.

You do not need to be connected to the internet to play the game!
You do need to be connected for uploads and downloads from the
store or exchange and to upload to your "studio".
