How To PM People on TS3 Forums! *Updated 6/9/09*

Hey guys! :D
So, I figured out how to PM people on TS3 forums!

Oh, this is great! It was rather tricky.
OK, I realized that TS3 Forums, and the Spore Forums use the same set up.

So, I copied the links and such that let you PM on Spore Forums... and guess what?!
They WORK on TS3 Forums!

OK, so, first of all, EA hid our forum profiles. I found them.
http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/user/profile/920.page
You can also see all the posts I've made as well!

Now, as you can see, they HID THE PM FEATURE. Why would they do this? I have no idea! But... follow this link:
http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/pm/sendTo/920.page

And what can you do? PM me! Now, see where is says 920? That's what number I am. To find your number *which is a very long process* you have to go to Member Listing, and search yourself. Then, you'll see what your number is, to the left hand side.
^^Please Ignore this! Scroll a little more down, for an easier alternative to finding your number!!

Replace the XXX's with your number/the number of the user you want to PM

IMPORTANT LINKS!
http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/user/profile/XXX.page
^^ Your forum profile

http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/pm/sendTo/XXX.page
^^ The link to let you PM people

http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/pm/inbox.page
^^ The link to your inbox. Bookmark this link, to make accessing your inbox, 10x easier!

EDIT!! There is an EASIER way to find people!! Thanks to heidismiles for this.
OK, when you go to PM someone, there will be a FIND USER button next to the recipient's name, right? Copy and paste the username you want to PM, and then click that button. Then paste in their name, and then click Choose This User, and the recipient's name will change to the person you want to PM!!

EDIT!! There is an EASIER way to find your number! Thanks to HILNUS for this.
Click on my preferences, the number in the URL is your member number.

To get to your inbox, you must first send a PM to somebody *you can send a PM to yourself, to make it easier.* Once you've done this, there will be a link that guides you to your Inbox.

I hope everyone uses this, because it took a while for me to figure out! Happy PM'ing!
Make it easier for people to PM you! Place your link in your signature.

Don't know how to make the link work in your signature? Copy and paste this code into your signature, just make sure you replace the ### with your member number!

EDIT!! Please stop spamming my inbox with test PMs, and random typing. If you want to make sure your PMs work, PM YOURSELF! Thank you!

Holy crap! This is epic. Great job figuring it out :D

Also notice that on the first PM link you gave (to PM you,) there is actually a box there that lets you search by member name for your recipient.

And if you want to speed up the process of finding your member number, you can play with the number on the member listings URL. For example, my member name can be found on this page (below). If your member name starts with, say, "M," you might try changing the number to something like 50000.

Here is the link to PM me, if anyone wants :-p

Yeah, I guess! They didn't do a good job with the whole Member Listing thing.
They should have a built in member searcher.

The absolute best part about this is being able to find threads i started, untill now because if the sheer volume of posts, i wasnt able to find replies to question i had asked.

Thanks so much for this info, its invaluable!!!

Hey, I just want to add that I think we should all post this information in our blogs - with props to Lawertend, of course! You can also post PM links in your siggy!

I am sure they left out the ability to pm and view forum profiles for a reason. I'm not sure what that reason would be but whatever. While I think this is a good find I think we should be cautious with it.

I don't see why or how why could get in trouble with this. It's only PM'ing people...
