Gillie, if it wasn`t for those pesky Resource files...
It must have been quite a shock to see all these previously downloaded worlds suddenly become viewable. I`m sorry you seem so against WA, it has it`s moments. To be honest with you, I just bought it for the tents, everything else was just a bonus. Thanks for the kudos, much appreciated.
kdluvshersims, thank you for the thank you!
I`m glad you are enjoying Saskan Harbour. You never really know how these things are going to be seen by others, or how much or how little people may enjoy playing their sims in your world. So, it comes as some relief to know you are enjoying a mostly glitch free SH.
I`ve read some horror stories on the forum regarding issues or glitches with some worlds, so I count myself lucky.
Thanks for your kind words and your encouragement.
OH my gosh Johnny, how can you not play your world with at least Bear. He so fits that world like a glove. In fact all your Sims seem right at home in your world. It's obvious you created them for maybe Riverview, but they seem way more fitting in your world and many of them are in your houses even. I put Bear up in that cabin that sits off the beaten path and before I knew it he had himself a lady friend who seems to have the exact same personality as he has. She had a green thumb according to the traits and was game created as a coworker at the Science facility - but she just adored Bear's garden. I did end up building a full-fledged outhouse with inside bathing as the outside tub became a problem to his lady friend. Oh and then I saw a need for an extension to the cabin. Seems old Bear got his lady friend in the family way. So they now have a nursery big enough to also house a couple of twin beds. As it looks like Bear and Mandy are going to have need for the additional room. I'm trying to keep the integrity of the cabin in tack, but if worse comes to worse I will expand upward if I need to as I can't see this couple living any where else. I also had Mandy quit her job, as her actual lifetime wish was the perfect garden, so they are living quite comfortably on her gardening and Bears fishing skills.
But you really need to add him to your own version of the SH as he is quite the character.

Bear Miller is actually the grandson of the late great Nick Alto. Bear`s father was a late..um..family starter, so Bear never met his grandfather. I can see Bear living in that cabin in Pine Hollow too, just for the fishing in Lake Fearless.
Lake Fearless is my favourite place in Saskan Habour, I love the sound of the place, the sound of the rushing water.
Reg, feel free to reconstruct Bear`s cabin. I placed the bathtub outdoors as I grew up watching movies like Butch Cassidy and the sundance kid and everybody seemed to have these troughs outside they would bathe in. But with the path nearby I can see why Bear`s lady friend might not enjoy the alfresco freshness.
As regards Bear being in my own game, well...I have to say Bear`s time has come and gone for me. He was a great sim and a fine tutor to his children, but that was quite some time ago now. My current main family consist of The Harpers. Lance (the rock star dad who just recently married the housemaid), Lance`s son Gerard (an aspiring writer specializing in fishing books) and Lance`s youngest son, Cal (the classic party animal).
I have to say, I`m happy to hear Bear is working his charms on you (and it seems his new found lady friend). Long may he continue to do so. Good luck with the cabin refurbishment.
Thanks Johnny. I have good and bad moments with this crazy flu. It's defintely different than the normal Seasonal flu, so instead of feeling a little better every day, you have moments of everyday you feel worse, but then within an hour or two it get better.
I look at it on the positive side, I now don't need an excuse to be at my computer and not working on my work, but messing with the game. Actually hubby wouldn't say anything anyway, it is the inner me I have to convince to sit down before I fall down.
Yeah, I adore Bear in his own way. I also have a good number of your Sims families in the game as well and have played many of them at least a couple of Sims day to give them a little umph in the skill and jobs departments and make sure they are all on the paths needed to fulfill lifetime wishes or at least going in that direction anyway.
But I do spend a good deal more time with Bear and Mandy. I'm eager to get back there soon and see what the stork brings them. I picked the name Hannah if they have a girl and for a boy I'm thinking River might be fitting.
But it will be a few more days before I go back. I have so many worlds and love to play them all. Wish there was a way I could connect them all. Then I have certain worlds I choose to play when I want to accomplish certain things - like I play RFlongs BHI if I want to step back into time a bit or her Longview when I just want to get lost in beach scene and my artist Sims. I also prefer her Oasis Island when I want to take Sims Adventuring as I have every hourse there filled with adventure Sims.
SH, Fort Sims, and Neverblade I take turns playing them for their strong career building style - like I have most of SH families having at least one great gardener, or angler, or natural cook. Fort Sims I have mainly military and Athletic Sims. Neverblade I have turned into my Rockers and famous personalities. Mesa Valley was for my geeks, brainiacs, and with ambitions will focus strongly on the Inventor and any other science type career.
I have a couple I just play for the fun of it because the characters are so delightful and fun - like Mon kee Island and Summer Daydreams.
So it depends on how I feel when I'm ready to actually play that day.
But right now I'm just in testing a few more worlds.

I simply had to take a minute to let you know how beautiful I think this world is.
I discovered last night that even though I had downloaded and installed it a short while back that I had never actually played it. I spent the next 5 hours totally immersed in Saskan Harbour, lol.
I didn't encounter any problems whatsoever. This world plays very smoothly. Couple that with the outstanding scenery and it's a delight to spend time in.
Thank you DOLLDRMS, I always appreciate feedback. It seems there are quite a few people who have downloaded what seems like a huge batch of worlds, and over a course of time, discover those worlds and what they have to offer to their style of play. I`m just glad you have taken some time to have a look around Saskan Harbour, and happy to hear you enjoyed it.
I apologize for not getting back to you much sooner than this, but, I have to let you know that you have done an incredible job with Saskan Harbour...it's wonderful! So much time and attention to detail...I like that. I do enjoy playing SH and it is a keeper for me.
Thank you for a job well done. I still haven't taken on the CAW tool as I had hoped. I can't seem to get it running will on this pc, and on my new pc, for some reason, even with a new Sims 3 disc, I can't get it to install correctly....oh well. I'll do what I can with the computer I'm on now and maybe will be able to get CAW running well enough to create my own world some day. I must admit that I truly enjoy checking out what creators and builders are doing and coming up with...the creavity level in these forums are amazing!
Your world has just been reviewed at Trixie Chickdaw's World Tours - CaW worlds reviewed and linked, and video tours posted http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/194046.page
Please check it out and let me know what you think
What an amazing job you've done! Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Snuttdi, i`m really pleased you have enjoyed Saskan Harbour. I understand a lot of people have downloaded quite a few worlds and eventually get round to playing them, but that`s okay, we all go about things differently.
I have to tell you I`m equally blown away by the talent of some CAW users too, I think Rflong is a modest CAW genius. I hope eventually you can take some time to delve into CAW`s strange, confusing and rewarding universe. It is a real nice feeling to look down on that world you have invested so much time in.
Thanks for taking the time to say thank you, much appreciated.
kokoandtrixie, I`ve just watched the Saskan Harbour World Tour and thought it was fabulous. Thanks so much for considering it worth your time. It`s an honour, really. Many thanks.
Hey, Johnnywr could you put Saskan Harbour on the exchange or is mediafire a good reliable website that has no viruses! Because I really like how your world looks and I don't want my computer messed up because of some virus!
thanks
soccergirl1996, the mediafire link to Saskan Harbour will NOT contain a virus, I can assure you. Why on earth would I want to spread "some virus" using a world I worked on for two months. You can very safely download Saskan Harbour using Mediafire. If your antivirus is showing all mediafire links as containing a virus then perhaps you ought to update your antivirus.
To be honest, I trust Mediafire more than I trust the Exchange. I know there is a way to place larger worlds on the Exchange but I just can`t get my head around it. So it`s Mediafire.
If you do decide to download Saskan Harbour I do hope you enjoy it and have some nice simming fun there. Thanks for the compliment too, much appreciated.
DOLLDRMS1, thanks also for your nice words and support, you`re very kind.
Thanks DOLLDRMS, that`s very kind of you. It`s real good to hear you still have a place in your game for SH. I myself have only really played Saskan Harbour, in doing so I`ve come to realize the failings of that particular world and what could be done in my next world to make a possibly more interesting world.
I had a few graphics issues with CAW before the Ambitions meltdown and had to scrap three worlds in a row (it was early days for each of them, so it wasn`t a terrible loss). I did start one particular world around the same time and put it on backburner but I have since returned to it and I think it`s going okay. In fact, I`ve spent more time on just the sculpting of this new world than it took to start and finish Saskan Harbour.
I`m taking it easy with this new world, just working when the creativity comes. I don`t want to start a new thread for it until I`m closer to the finishing line. I don`t want to drag it out for months, but I will let you into a wee secret...it will be called Cabot`s Reach.
Okay, me and about 1,000 of your other sim friends will keep your secret, lol.
I'm glad to know you have another project in the works and think your outlook of working on it when the mood strikes is a good one. Creating a world should be fun, not drudgery. Have fun and if you want it beta tested before a final release, I'm sure I will be stainding in line to do so,
Johnnywr, I don't know if this is rude to ask, but, granted that you ambitions, do you think you could release a version of Saskan Island with overcast skies? I read in a forum that in CAW you can set the cloudiness of the sky in a world. I think Saskan Island would look amazing with a cloudy sky and a fog enshrouded harbour. Anyways, Happpy Simming.
don151516, good to hear you are enjoying Saskan Harbour, that is always good news. I won`t be going back to it though, I`m in a different place now, so what is done is done. Maybe if a Seasons type expansion is released it will be really easy for anybody, CAW user or not to add a certain look to a town or part of town. I miss the seasons from Sims 2.
Chillax_Z, thanks for the compliment, yes, I put two months of my life into Saskan Harbour. It was my first real world and I think it turned out okay. Still, there are always new things to try and to learn.
Cheers
I just stumbled over Saskan Harbour by accident and I think it looks beautiful; just downloaded and am quite anxious to take it for a spin. Thank you so much for being kind enough to share it with us!
I just put Saskan Harbour back into my game. Bittersweet...reminds me of the fun I had in here the first go around but makes me mourn my lost save file of that world that got corrupted by bad CC...though I didn't know at the time that was the cause. I had that teenaged boy storyline.
I wasn't sure how Saskan worked with Ambitions but apparently from what other people say it plays nicely with Ambitions. I decided to revisit it because of all the worlds I had, it was the one I most enjoyed driving around in and it's going to make perfect use of Fast Lane items.
Hi SS, if I only knew the sheer size of SH would actually come in handy with a car based stuff pack? As you probably know, I pretty much only played SH upon it`s creation and got to know it really rather well. I think by doing that I am able to look at Matkooskee with more of a "medium grass_base, just say no" approach. I ended up seeing just three primary colours in SH , medium grass green, granite and blue sea/sky, I vowed to try a bit harder with this new world.
By the way Summersong, to remember how to pronounce Matkooskee, try this simple, yet odd trick. Matt Damon (Mat)/ Cous cous (koos)/ Key West (kee)...Matkooskee. If you are able to remember it easily after a wee while you must promise me you`ll forget all about Matt Damon, cous-cous and Key West if you ever play Matkooskee. It`s a bad combo.
Anyways, back to library building (I`m dreading the library).
I didn`t recognize your avatar, I get so used to familiar faces. I really ought to change my avatar. Mmme...? Maybe.
Thanks for the tip on remembering how to say Matkooskee. I think it actually works.
Saskan Harbour, to me, is far more beautiful than just the three colors that burned themselves into your impression. It's also a versatile world. I'm sorry I stayed away from it so long after a really horrid crash killed my long-running stories on Saskan Harbour, Anju Falls, and Sunshine Daydream. I was playing those three worlds on a rotating basis and had invested a lot in the storylines I was playing. At the time I was unaware of the dangers posed by bad cc--or perhaps the cc wasn't bad until several patches rendered them so, and I was bolder about using a core mod and tuning mods. All of this in the hands of a non techie person like myself was a recipe for disaster. My game became completely unstable and my saves became unusable. I was devastated. I just couldn't pick back up where I left off and I just moved on to other worlds. But I always missed those three. Saskan Harbour really broke my heart because one of my favorite characters got his storyline "killed" in it. I was able to save his family and play him in other worlds but it was never the same. Unfortunately I did eventually lose his family to a different set of corruption induced failure.
LOL--Yes, I'm sure my avatar is going to throw a lot of people off. I went from caucasian avatars to a black one. I'm neither caucasian nor black, so none of my avatars was ever an accurate representation of myself. I'm actually a very mixed and blended race person--predominantly asian. I'm usually mistaken for hispanic, Greek or Italian, though I'm none of those things, either. It's quite confusing!
SS, cool, remember, Matt Damon, cous-cous and Key West.
That`s a real drag about losing those worlds. I`m so terrified of CC, I just don`t think it`s worth the hassle, it seems to cause a lot of simmers (who use or choose not to use CC) a bucketload of issues at some point. Scary. I`m so sorry you lost a favourite sim in Saskan Harbour, it`s kind of depressing when that happens.
Regarding your avatar, she`s very pretty, all of your avatars have been gorgeous and soothing to the eye. On the other hand, my avatar is basically a sim interpretation of what I actually look like, I don`t think I could look any better than the way I look as my avatar, a crushing blow I know, but I`ll survive.
