Updated with current status in the first post.

Thanks for all comments, I'm getting kinda nervous now because it will be upload time in less than a day! I want everything to be perffect, but well, I'm not a CAW expert and to be honest, I spent too much time on this, so it will be nice doing something else for a change - maybe just playing TS3

    Shameless bump!

Aspen Bay is being released today (YAY), so TODAY nothing but page 1 or 2 will be accepted - more bomps to come, LOL. In a couple days it will do fine on page 100, but not today...

I did the biggest mistake last night, using the conform edges tool on nearly all lots because I thought I had understood better how to work it. But even empty lots became worse, so today I must try to fix some of it by manually adjusting some of the most visual edges. I don't think it will affect the time of release though, as I can save most finetuning for a final version.

Houses from topleft to bottomright: Maccoroc Farm, Studio, Aurbelle Residence, Muggey Estate, Farm (not occupied), Shadow Valley houses.

I like the new lot pics on the front page. The lots are very good! I especially like the large house (Bottom left) and the little cottage-like house next to it (Muggey estate and Farm).

    Happy Simming,
    Calimero

Thank you :-) All houses in Aspen Bay are original. I don't think I will upload them outside the world though, because most of the ground is steep, and I think it will be hard to make them fit elsewhere.

Okay, in about ONE HOUR the Aspen Bay world will be yours! I hope someone out there get a chance to test it this weekend, because I'm of course very curious to know how it work on other simmers' computers as well idea of what is okay and not.

I'll post again when it is up ;-)

Hi, there are a couple lots suitable for loners, but right now I added one extra *way out* and will name the address after you, LOL. It's not a nice place, but it's different from the other locations, which might be fun anyway :-)

Im looking forward to downloading it. And it will be funny to see a lot named after my user name. LOL

I'm sorry, I couldn't make it within one hour, but I'm almost done... It took longer than I thought to add those family paintings and putting the 3 main houses to the bin. And still I'm not sure it will work the way I hope. Now I just need one more run through CAW and EIG (3 issues to fix, 2 easy and 1 that I never will get fixed because I already tried 800 times, LOL). I guess 30 minutes is all I need.

happyjme: The lot is just an empty lot, but it was as lonely as could be, LOL. There is a shortcut to the Bay though, through a landscape where nobody lives. Wait and see.

Ugghh, I'm ready to upload, but it seems the exchange is still not working. Upload progress stops at 50%.

I will find another way to share it, five mins... hold on...

It looks interesting. I have never played a world with no schools and no streets before. I should try this for a change

Anyway, where should I download the world ? Any link to be followed :D ?

And one request, could you please upload the household as well :P ? It will be more interesting to play them based on your story and continue from there 8)

Nice world and nice story..I like both

Thanks for sharing it with us

Oki, files are up, links are in the original post of this thread ;-)

I never packed a world before, so I'm eagerly awaiting some feedback on whether it can be installed etc. I know you guys are busy too, so I'll just hang out for a while, but preparing to be patient...

There are a few issues with Aspen Bay, that I wish was better.

    1. I had major problems with lot edging. Most lots are not flat, silly me. I have tried so many times to adjust it, but gave up. I can live with it, hopefully you won't think it's too bad. I'll gladly try to fix extremes, if there is any, but not smaller stuff.

    2. I also had probs with ground texture bleeding through a few sidewalks where the walk meets the lot. I fixed all except a couple where I painted the ground to match.

    3. I know there could have been more trees in the outskirts, but if you read the description, there is a chilly western wind that caurse sparse vegetation, LOL. I was simply not sure how much to add, and still be playable to smaller computers. More trees can be added, but I'm not sure if it's really needed.

    4. Sidewalks can be a pain when the population grows. Meeting a family of 5 means you must stop 5 times. There are a few alternative routes if you meet a queue, but it might be a better idea just step aside before you actually meet them.

    5. Some walks are way too steep, so it doesn't look good when sims run there, but because it's saving them time, I just close my eyes when they jump ;-)

    6. Two of the fishing spots are kinda weird (small and steep lots, hard to navigate), maybe they could be dropped, but I assume they won't be very busy anyway.

All kinds of feed back is welcome. I know it's far from perfect, and if I'm on to a version 2, your comments are valuable!

    Thanks for testing it! :D

Added: I planned to upload a couple more households, but I think only one family name that isn't already uploaded can be connected to Aspen Bay's history, so I'll just upload him as a sim on an empty lot, and you can place him wherever you like. His name is Cabb (a poor descendant from the family who failed with their business and escaped.)

Uzi666: Oh no, that's bad news! Tell me more, did the Launcher work like you expected? Did the world show in the world selection list, or crashed it before you reached the main menu?
Do you have WA? There are some WA objects in the world, I thought they would just not load, but maybe they cause a crash.

snuttdi: hope you enjoy it :-) I see you got WA, so it will be exciting to hear whether it works or not.

Diskette66: Thanks;) It's been lots of fun, but I can need a break from CAW now.

zexion65: I can't help you, never had problems with saving. Of course it's annoying if you can't save lots, although it's fun to just model a world, but you need those lots to play. Did you check the FAQ or other sticky threads on top of the CAW boad page? Or, try in a tech section perhaps?
