Stuck in Egypt!

So I downloaded the new patch and I started playing. Everything was fine, my family started up in China before I went home for a few days. Then I went to Egypt and I was on an adventure when I got the note that said I only had 1 hour left. Then when I was due back home the message saying it was time to leave popped up twice but it didn't actually chuck me back to Sunset Valley. So I continued on for maybe four or five extra days, I got to Visa level 3 and I bought a vacation home.

But then I wanted to go back home, so I used the phone, but NOTHING happens. I restarted the game, tried playing with another family, but when I call home it just won't work. I've tried with mobile, house telephone and the computer, but it still won't send my sim back home. Anyone who can help me??

I'm having a similar problem except in France. I tried to force my sim to go back home and it just restarted in France except I couldn't play anything. I haven't figured out anyway around it.
