      It's not even that we get stuff second, psiyoshster, it's that we're not getting Create-A-World--BETA at all that annoys me. The patch is a really unfair comparison to CAW--BETA though, because EA intended to have it (the patch) ready for Win/Mac simultaneously; the fact that it wasn't ready is another debate entirely, and I could easily devote a whole thread to that, as well as to the fact that it seems to have "broken" as many games as it "fixed," and that Win/Mac users are both having problems with it. CAW--BETA in contrast, is at least labeled as a "beta" so I know to expect bugs, and unlike the patch which EA at least attempted to launch simultaneously for Win/Mac, EA isn't even trying to launch CAW--Beta for the Mac, not even a week late like the patch. It's the fact that EA is acting as if Mac users have no desire for the CAW tool that bothers me.

      That makes two of us Raynor_EX. I initially defended EA's use of Cider on the grounds that it should've put an end to missing EPs, SPs, and add-on tools, but here we are, missing a major add-on tool, beta or otherwise. I hate to admit it, but I feel like I'm being ripped off here. I still don't see a valid reason as to why EA can't drop CAW--BETA into Cider for Mac users.

      Finally, Create-A-World--BETA comes out for the PC tomorrow; I encourage people to continue signing this, so that EA employees (such as the SimGurus) will hopefully see it and pass our request along to the appropriate people. EA is supposedly looking for feedback on the Create-A-World--BETA tool as they continue to improve it, and I think we're giving them some of the most constructive criticism possible in this thread, which is that they need to come up with a Mac version. Remember, if you can, contact Mac and/or Technology blogs about this (e.g. TUAW,) and use the "Tip Us" feature so we can try and get this issue some press, if you use Twitter, FaceBook, or a similar site, it wouldn't hurt to add some information there as well. What's more, I would really like it if this was going strong tomorrow when CAW--BETA is released for the PC; the more attention this issue gets, the more likely EA is to resolve it. It would be really nice if we could get some new signatures on the day that the CAW--Beta tool is released for the PC. I really feel like EA is ignoring us, and I'm not happy about that at all. On the positive side, this thread has 1,398 views, so at least we know that it's getting some attention. Again, thank you everyone for your support, and please continue to keep this thread alive, and to show EA that we want a CAW--Beta tool as well.

      It's actually quite ridiculous.
      We paid the same amount for The Sims 3.
      We paid the same amount for The Sims 3 World Adventures.
      We paid the same amount for any The Sims Store credits.

      Why should we pay as much but only get half the features Windows computers do?

      Although, working with this tool on Parallels might not be entirely bad, but then again, I couldn't ever imagine playing The Sims 3 on Parallels, so it would be a great convenience to me if it was made for the Mac.

      Maybe this is the whole reason it is taking so long for the Create-a-World tool to come out.

      While I generally don't place much (if any) credit in Wikipedia, viewing the previous versions of the page for TS3 reveals that the Create-A-World--BETA tool was initially supposed to be released today, December 10, 2009. There was a citation, which pointed to an article from Gamespot retrieved on October 29, 2009 that supposedly provided this information.       On October 29, 2009, EA announced "Create-A-World (CAW)", which is an upcoming game world editor that will allow players to create their own custom cities from scratch for use within the game.[18] The editor tool will be offered to players as a separate download (130MB) on the official website. The editor will be released as a beta, on December 10th, 2009 [18] , and will be available in several languages. EA deduced that they will offer continuous support for the tool and will update and improve the editor accordingly based on the community's feedback and reception.[18] Upon creating the neighborhoods, players will have the option of sharing their creations via the official website's exchange. The tool will allow the player to have the option of either editing an existing neighborhood terrain or creating their own terrain from scratch.[18]

      In any case, we should assume EA has changed anything unless we hear directly from them, but I figured this was worth posting for the purpose of discussion. The "18" refers to the Gamespot citation; I didn't feel like ripping it out of here. The Wikipedia page was edited today.

      I recently transitioned from PC to Mac. I have bought every Sims game, expansion and stuff pack known to man since the Sims was initially released. I spend a lot of money in the Sims 3 Store. I will continue to do so as long as the game remains truly cross-platform. A later release of the Mac version would be acceptable (but still a bit frustrating). Never having access to this tool as a Mac user would make me seriously reconsider supporting EA in the future. It is bad enough that Mac users experience sub-standard support. We muddle through by helping each other out in the forums. But denying us some of the best features of the game would be criminal.
