Are the switches in tomb building bugged or am I missing something?

Okay, so I tried building my first tomb today but have hit a snag. I'm following the official tomb building guide on how to use a foot switch to hide a staircase. I have Followed the guide to the letter, up to the point where it tells you to CTRL,SHIFT + left click on the floor switch and select the trigger but no matter how many times I try to click the foot switch, no options will show up. I have tried this on the foot switch and the 2 hole switches and none of them seem to work when I CTRL,SHIFT + left click on them.

So is there something I am doing wrong or missing or has anybody else found this also? :?

Sounds buggy to me. I hope you can get it working. I couldn't recreate this even when I turned testingcheats off. Have you tried restarting the game (all I can think of)?

Yep, I quit the first time it happened and then restarted with a new game but still couldn't get anything from any of the switches when I used CTRL,SHIFT and left click on em.

Testingcheatsenabled true and the buydebug cheats were both present at the time also as I could CTRL,SHIFT and left click on some things just not any of the switches.

Hmmm....

So, you can ctrl shift click on other things and have the trigger, etc. menu pop up? For instance, doors? If worse comes to worse, you can use things other than switches AS switches, if you see what I mean. Kind of limiting, I know. But if they give you a buggy game, I guess you have to work with what you've got. And pray for a patch.
