Combo community lots?

I found this while searching for other add ons for Sims3. Is it going to mess up the story line to create one big lot and replace all of the buildings in one place?

Could I conceivably create a 'shopping mall'?

What I am concerned about is certain events not popping because the building is not present.

I don't think there would be any issues as long as the Sims are able to get inside the buildings (looks suspicious in that picture).

There is already a lot in Sunset Valley which combines three rabbit holes... the theater, grocery store and bookstore if I recall correctly... it's on the opposite side of City Hall, across the park.

Those are all placed on one single lot.
