I hope they don't neglect the consequences of a relationship. Sims still barely react if you have an affair right in front of them. They should bring back fury.

And if we have new break-ups, we could have different variations. Maybe sudden break-ups leave your lover devastated, while some sims might be happy it's over. A long-lasting relationship could leave a sim unwilling to date for a long time, because they're not ready to move on.

Well, a lot of people talked like that about horse ranch too….. but I happen to love horse ranch. I love the horses, the world, the build buy ( one of my favorites in the game ), and the CAS. Yes I would have preferred not to have a rabbit hole tournament because I hate rabbit holes. Not having rabbit holes is the reason I stayed with sims 4 because they had few of them in the beginning. I also would rather have more lots in each pack, but smaller worlds is becoming more standard. I am glad we get workd with all of our expansions, and most of our game packs too.

I have been wanting a romance pack for a long time, and we are going to have turn on’s and turn off’s, so I’m excited! I personally don’t care much about an online dating App, but there are many others out there that do! I like that there will be a singles lot, and there will be a dynamics system! I’m happy to see this pack be an expansion pack. It would be nice to have extra activities like golf and malls, but I mostly want to see lots of romance interactions! So, I’m hoping there are a good deal of them. I am excited about the pack!

by all means the Sims 4 could use more sophisticated romance experiences though It does not require a whole expansion pack dedicated to it and can not be worth 40$ . instead, they should start making fan-requested packs and have those romance additions added to them. likewise with for rent literally, one single feature the whole rent and landlord made into 1 expansion pack really? should have been a whole real estate / business pack, now some would say yeah but then the whole landlord thing wouldn't be fleshed out, so we got the landlord feature with for rent for 40$ and still it wasn't fleshed out, and had so many bugs. this pack romance pack better come with many other additions, many other expansions to the game .

I dunno about the barely reacting, at least since sentiments. I had a sim get caught in bed with a sim not his spouse. She slapped him ... once when it happened, and once a few days later because the sentiment hadn't worn off.

I don't remember if she developed a negative sentiment against the partner, however (I want to say she did, but I'm not sure.) and if not, that definately should have happened as well.

Personally, I'd like to see a *variety* of reactions to cheating, and have it led by traits/aspirations. Someone with non-comittal and/or the serial romantic aspiration (and by extention the player trait) might just shake it off, while jealous, paranoid and hot headed sims would indeed go into a fury. A gloomy + Soul Mate sim might just go into a long sad period, similar to when a sim dies.

I wonder if they're going to include physical attributes for Turn-Ons/Off. I doubt it, but it would be realistic.

We've only seen one small leak, we don't even know if it's legit. I wouldn't rush to judge just yet. Plus $40 is what is will cost at launch. If you don't want to pay that much wait a year or so and get it on sale. EPs regularly go on sale for $20-$30.

    • Romance Consultant career
    • Cupid’s Corner app

    • Zodiac signs / Fortune teller career
    • Dating app

I'm curious to see how the turn ons and turn offs will interact with current compatibility likes and dislikes. It would certainly be interesting to like certain traits in your partner that you don't necessarily like in other sims, or vice versa. (E.g., all your friends are artsy types like you, but you seem to keep falling for computer nerds). Or, maybe you are attracted to certain traits while still disliking them... e.g., you have a steamy romance with someone you argue with all the time, but your friendship bar stays low with them because you don't like argumentative sims. Or you are usually compatible with ambitious/materialistic/snobby sims, but you have a secret romantic hankering for a lazy slob. Or you despise Bros but can't help being attracted to them.

Those kinds of things would be a worthwhile addition to the compatibility system, and could make relationships very fresh and interesting.

I just realized they called the city unforgettable
maybe thats why I was so not excited about it I desire more places that are Forgotten 🦇 not unforgettable

"Unforgettable" probably one of the most classic love songs. <3

That world better be worth it because if that's it for the gameplay I'm just gonna get it on sale months later. Doesn't seem too appealing to me.

That's some very expensive Sims 2 Base Game content.

To be fair, they're pressuring people to buy early, thanks to the FOMO assets. A lot of people will buy the game now, at full price, because otherwise they'll miss out on content forever. It's not a big loss for most, but the scheme clearly works.

I'm fine with the game putting in stuff that's already covered by mods, like I know not everyone can play with mods. But I doubt they'll be THAT much better than what we can get from those mods, to justify a $55 (CAD) pricetag. Especially since a lot of the other features are recycled from Growing Together. I wouldn't be surprised if CAS, BB and the world do the heavy lifting - and watch the world be like 12 lots and consist largely of non-interactable set dressing.

Tbh, if the dating app and turn-ons/turn-offs are only on par with mods, then I'd rather just stick to the mods. Not only are they free, but they're far more likely to be fixed fairly soon after they break.

I for one am pretty sure it’s legit. The main source of the leak is, I believe, the same person who leaked all the content for the most recent kits. And the pack title and release date are now corroborated in the pack info on the Instant Gaming site. It was either Instant Gaming or other similar sites that leaked the summer EPs for at least the past couple of years (High School Years, Horse Ranch), and the timing fits. But we should know for sure in a couple of weeks anyway, as that’s when preorders start — so it looks like we should expect an official announcement two weeks today.

Based on the leak, I’m getting some of my top wants from a romance pack. Online dating, cuddling, and new dating system.

Excited about the career and the lot trait. That’s gonna come in handy.

I’m pretty indifferent about the new world. I tend to stick to the same world, regardless of new worlds being added. But I’d love to be proven wrong.

Does it sound like an expansion pack? I’m not sure, but I think what counts as an expansion pack has evolved.

It sincerely lacks a new original venue type that could have been the overall pack's theme tbh. The features are fine and interesting on their own, but at the end of the day it's nothing drastically game-changing and seems like it's, once again, reusing other packs features' core mechanics under another name with a few tweaks here and there. There's nothing wrong about capitalizing on something you've already created to save up time, human ressource and money. Heck, it's actually a pretty smart thing to do, but it should be on top of a brand new experience.

As usual, I expect the CAS and BB objects to be fine and the world to be pretty (although not that big), they never disappoint in this department. But if the leak is to be trusted, this pack will NOT bring new ways to play and drastically original things to experience... Which is embarrassing for an EP.

I'm convinced that the sims team's budget has been greatly reduced overall with the simultaneous development of Sims 5 and the producers are doing their best to deliver what they can with the ressources they are given, because the last 3 EP have been seriously underwhelming in terms of content/new features with brand new core mechanics compared to the usual TS4 EPs, it can't be a coincidence.

I am not sure is fair to judge the pack has less content.
The pack will come with a new world with three neighborhoods.
    A new skill
    A new semi active Career
A new system turn off and turn ons satisfaction points .
    A new app

People have been looking forward to a bunch new animations related to romance and they only mentioned the cuddle in bed. I really hope there is more than that.

I do belive there is more than that. They said seduction skill with more interactions being open.

I don't use mods or CC so its weird to me when people say they shouldn't do x pack cause theres mod for it like geez what could they even release at this point that someone has not tried to mod anyway?

Also just that official content is bit safer for crumplebottoms like myself that would like to avoid extreme spice  like some romance mods just make me spill my tea and thats awful waste of good tea

with official content luckily you know theres never too much spice and the only concern is lack of spice

that all said I do really wish there is more to interactions than mentioned on the leaked text

and that they didn't make zillion rabbitholes again

I love Spice. I try to explore the game to its fullest vanilla or cc. CC and mods usually win. :) I respect the vanilla player. It takes true skill to play the game the way it was manufactured.

Can't wait to see the trailer. So nice to see the heart bed and what looks like a box of chocolates. Also, wonder if the romantic blanket can be used for a picnic or it's just a modern version of the bear rug.

That's strawberries with chocolate on them.

Good we need some velvety animations in this game for real! :)

I could not care less about heart shaped bed, I never understood the hype :D Never used the bed in ts2. But I suppose it's great if it finally is there for all who so desperately want it. :)
I just love it for being all kinds of silly 😂

modern decor can be such a bore sometimes
especially when playing sim like Don Lothario
man just needs some fun in his life before I ruin it

Another thing simmers haven't thought of is that the heart bed and other heart furniture can be used to create a makeshift honeymoon suite or a honeymoon rental. I hope the lip sofas and heart fireplace are returning as well.

That image is only 2 steps away from looking like one of those steamy adventures book covers. I assume that was the intention. :D

Regardless of the fact that the leaked description could fit in an ant's shoe, I do hope the leaked pack is as powerful as the leaked title and that the leaked turn on/off system is as meaningful as we officially need it to be.

Cuddling in bed is something I'd like to see in a free update, but I suppose that kind of romance doesn't come for free anymore.
I initially thought the teary eyed eyeliner is also part of a new system: crying sims that wear eyeliner get the crying banshee look. Ah, that would have been nice, alas, it's probably not to be.

I'm old school, so I have no idea how dating apps work, although it would be fun to be able to set up a blind date but to also have an option to send love letters (the snailmail kind) to a potential lover. And of course break-up letters to the twasn't meant to be - head cases, with the replies ofcourse being the best part.

As for the heartshaped bed, it's only interesting if we're dealing with the actual factual Vibromatic version, otherwise what's the point?
I wouldn't be too thrilled if it's just a bed.

A lot of simmers think that picture of the couple on the blanket is sims cuddling. The sims aren't they're just talking.
