Burglar Stuff Pack?

A while back, there was a thread about Sims 4 collabs, or maybe it was a conversation within a thread, I don't quite remember. At the time I joked that Sims 4 could do a collab with Simplisafe that would re-introduce burglars. The return of stuff packs, combined with the (since dispelled) burglar rumors surrounding For Rent had me thinking: why not? I think burglars are a stuff pack-sized concept. Maybe they could have a freelance burglar career similar to the paranormal career. Maybe the CAS theme could be lots of camo. Maybe it would add NPC burglars with scary music. Would you be interested, and if so, what features would you want to see in this pack?
-No, my almost-elderly mother, I don't think it's a good time for you to try for a baby.
-Yes, person I barely know, you have my blessing to hang out with Johnny Zest.
-No person with the mean, hot-headed and self-absorbed traits, I don't think you should get married.

If they are going to do burglars I would like it to be coordinated with some updated to the detective career where the police officers could discover and/or respond to burglary attempts while On Patrol or off duty. I would also like burglary to become an aspect of the Criminal career with the possibility of arrest by police on failed attempts/discovery. Burglars could have some stealth items to improve chances of avoiding capture.

EDIT: There should also be police motorcycles with sidecars so that k-9 officers can assist with anti crime operations :)
    Cheers

Do you know what's funny? The Sims 4 didn't include burglars to "prevent anxiety" in some players. To me, the thief seemed like a good mechanic. Yes, you could lose some valuable possessions, but there was a way to prevent it, and the mechanic was simple and transparent. But in The Sims 4, we have much worse things in every sense.

For example, years ago, I installed Eco Lifestyle, but I had no intentions of exploring the new mechanics immediately since I was playing a family in San Myshuno and wanted to finish that first. After a while, I started noticing that the lobby looked strange, but I didn't pay attention. Later, I visited the karaoke bar, but strangely, there was no contest as usual. That's when I realized that the lot category had changed because it no longer had the necessary objects to be considered a karaoke.

After investigating a bit, I found the reason: "Sharing is Caring". I knew that the new expansion included the neighborhood action plan mechanic, but I thought it would be directed at improving the environment. When I understood what had been happening and what it implied, I felt not only the greatest anxiety I've ever experienced playing any other game in the series but also confusion, frustration, anger, HORROR.

For who knows how long, my lots and my own house had been looted without me realizing it. I checked some more lots I had visited since the installation of that expansion, and things were missing from all of them. There was no way to know all the damage this mechanic had caused.

"Fixing" my world took time because there's no way to "reset" the lots. I had to copy lots from a clean save file, but lobbies can't be edited or reset, so there's nothing to be done there. I had to use cheats (something I don't like doing) to eliminate this neighborhood action from almost all the neighborhoods because removing it "legitimately" would have taken weeks. All of this could have been avoided by deactivating a simple option, but I never expected something like this to be implemented just like that. Under an innocent name hid something completely atrocious.

In addition to that, I have to check that every sim who visited my house is not a kleptomaniac, and I can't have roommates since they can cause fires any day, causing me to lose the earnings for that entire week.

Therefore, not including burglars under the argument of "protecting us" seems ironic and ridiculous. Just bring them back.

I'd like to have burglars in my game, way more than I'd want fairies, for instance. I think a stuff pack would be most appropriate so that people who don't want burglars don't have to miss out on the other features that would be in a larger pack.

No. That is false. I don't know why that rumor is STILL going around when it was debunked years ago by now-former SimGuru Grant.

We don't have them because they haven't added them. Nothing more, nothing less.

Thank you for the correction. The rumor is everywhere, including the wiki, and most of the results Google throws at you. It's not hard to believe, considering their tendency to keep everything in a "positive" tone. Still, the rest of my comment stands. Some people dislike the mechanics of burglars, but at least they knew when and what they were taking. Things disappearing without explanation due to unintuitive, poorly explained mechanics that add nothing is much worse.

I doubt weโ€™ll ever get burglars in Sims 4.

For Rent was a perfect means of bringing them back but they didnโ€™t. Snooper seems to be the new idea.

I don't necessarily have a theme but like I would want Burglars back because the game needs suspense gameplay back I also would like to update the Burglars like I said in another thread I would like for the Burglars to rob Sims when they are sleep but also when they are out like your out of the house and you get a notification that your being robbed you have a certain amount of time to go back and catch the robber, call the police. Also it will give more gameplay to GTW as a detective like a sim calls about their place being and instead of taking days and gathering evidence to arrest them you arrest them on the spot in action.

I want burglars as part of a crime fighting or heists gamepack, but only under this one condition:

Burglars must be unable to steal unique objects like photographs, paint from reference paintings, cross stitches made from reference, labeled wedding cake toppers, mementos and probably more things that I forgot.

I think there should be more branches for the villain career and new interactions to expand gameplay. You should be able to plan a heist (based of branch) such as an art or jewelry heist. Then you can travel to art gallery, museum, or retail store lot types, break and enter, and swipe objects. There should be a "black market" interactive shell for "fencing" stolen goods.

There should also be new interactions available on animal sheds and horse beds to "steal livestock" for cattle rustling branch and the animals can be kept, sold, or butchered (for cows and chickens). There should also be a racetrack interactive shell for entering stolen horses in races, placing bets with the "bookie", and bribing jockeys to "fix" the race.

And of course, there should be a probability of getting caught, arrested, and spending the night in jail. In order to get released, you either have to pay bail or do community service. If you have the corresponding pack, you could get sent to Evergreen Harbor or Sulani to pick up trash and recycle.

Additionally, I think apartment shells (i.e. CL and EL) should be updated to include an interactive fire escape so that burglars click on it to "break and enter" then break into apartments and swipe objects. I think break and enter should require lockpicking skill and toolset.

It should be basegame, and you should be able to toggle it off.

On their own as just burglars, they aren't my thing but I would have interest if they were added in a way that allows the player to decide if the game tilts entirely to the bad side or if there are consequences for crime. I would want to be able to punish or reform them if I as the player want to do so, I get that some other players wouldn't be interested in that but it would be important for me.

I would have interest in some sort of glamorous heist pack or if they add more gameplay for museums (needed) or if they expand the archaeology along with it. Find more objects with optional good and bad characters. Add more types of art and more activities for artists and museums but also add burglars and heists or capers.

I think some players want to play in a bleak crime world, fine, I think they should be able to do that. I don't but I do have some villains or complicated sims in my game. I've already had a few criminals in my game. I could see playing with some more playable burglars but let us send them to the jails. I know we already have detectives but I'd want some sort of inspector to be able to pursue any burglars. That's a classic type of gameplay with nods to the past.

id love to have a kit or smth that adds sims 3 burglars back, then its kinda optional cause I'm sure not everyone wants them
