Oversights and Pack refresh wishes

Although I love the game, always find something that I wish was included in the game. As the game feels so deep that you can build and play in your own creations, and includes almost al aspects of life, where that is a vast category, it always falls short somewhere, and there always seems more to be wished.

When I play these always come to mind. I have hundreds of list here and there, but this list is just from playing this weekend. I do what I can with the calendar, but sometimes the calendar doesnt work to remember days off. Other times is takes a while to kick in.

Summer break and Winterfest breaks for teens, kids & university students

Swimmable lake in Granite Falls- Outdoor Retreat Refresh

Wild animals like Deer, Eagles - Outdoor Refresh

Outdoor Refresh- Big Foot sightings

My Wedding Stories Anniversaries- date we met, day we came a couple, day we married.

Ceiling textures and roof structures members-Base Game

Active trolley and ferry rides activity Base Game/Get to Work

Swamp Tours boat ride - Base Game

College break to go back home. For the holidays -Discover University

Dog and Cat Shows and competition- Cats and Dogs

Get Famous- Singer/ Band/Rock Star active career branch

Jungle adventure- collect snakes and more animals

Horse Ranch- active careers

Horse Ranch equestrian center as a playable lot

Horse Ranch- Vineyard wine tasting event

My Wedding Stories- Host wedding event at your lot as a venue

Growing Together- active babysitting careers

Cottage Living- throw apple picking event and sell pies up front

Horse Ranch rent horses, sell trail events

Horse ranch carriages in parks

Horse Ranch- entering horse races, watching and betting

Batuu turned to Disney amusement part vacation world with hotel resort accommodations

This is just a few which came to mind but I would love to hear your ideas of pack refreshes which would breath new life into the existing game play.

Of the packs I finished, that being the first 2 (Outdoor Retreat and Get to Work), I have a few ideas for them.

Campers or RVs in Outdoor Retreat. They're kind of a no-brainer to have, especially for a camping pack. A pipe dream I have for RVs is that, like tents, you can take them to any lot. Clicking on the steering wheel will open up the map menu. When you arrive at the destination, the RV will be parked... SOMEWHERE on the lot, preferably the road. It's like bringing your entire home with you wherever you go.

Better coolers. The coolers in Outdoor Retreat are limited to quick meals and can't store food in them despite the description of the item saying so.

Better bears? Sure, there's people in bear costumes walking around, but what about real bears? As long as they're not stationary animals like cows, that would be a little terrifying. They didn't do it in 2015, and... I kinda don't expect them to do it now either...

Better aliens. Besides ghosts, I think they were the first occult added to the game. They are my favorite and it's a real shame they don't get any of the cool stuff that later occults would have. They're no different than humans besides having a few miscellaneous social interactions. What if they got some of their Sims 3 abilities and tech back? They and other sims in their household can use UFOs as an alternative to the Rocket Ship. Maybe they can have their own skill tree? Just like Mermaids and even PlantSims, I think they could go for a refresh to catch up with the other occults.

Burglars to catch for the Detective career. I mean... come on. If there was a chance to bring them back, it would've been in this pack. Even if they come back in a base game update, the Detective career is so boring and needs more stuff to do compared to the Scientist and Doctor. While they're at it, update the career lots. I'm sick of co-workers taking up every computer.

More inventions and serums for the Scientist career. The only things worthwhile in the Scientist career were the SimRay, Satellite Dish, Cloning Machine, and maybe the Wormhole Generator. Serums are not worth making compared to easier alternatives. Maybe bring back the Time Machine and Ghost Traps from TS3 Ambitions, hoverboards and jetpacks from Into the Future, whatever mad scientists would create.

Expanded Sixam. Magnolia Promenade? Sure, whatever. But a Sixam world would've been sooooo much better and unique. Not everyone's cup of tea, I realize, but definitely a lot more interesting than whatever we got.

More Doctor medicines and the ability to visit the hospital outside of delivering babies. As far as I know, you can't visit the hospital unless you have a Sim in labor. Wouldn't it make sense to visit it whenever you're sick and get treatment there instead of ordering a miracle bottle online that cures anything? Maybe prescriptions and different medicine can be a thing. It can integrate well with other packs to treat poison, rabid rodent fever, werebies, and even Strangerville's infection once you complete that pack's quest line. "Is there a doctor in the house?" Yes! Doctors have a higher chance of saving Sims from the Grim Reaper!

That's about all I can think of at the moment, but I hope they're solid ideas. My mind is always up in the clouds with this kind of stuff.

@Chungy All incredibly awesome and insightful ideas! CAmpers and rvs seem like so obvious, but the stationary trailer in strangerville is all we have and mobility seems like something you have in a "video" game!

When I first go the games, I was able to go to the hospital as a rabbit hole experience, but when I took out my mods, I realized it was not official. That should be an option official in game, you're right! It's crazy how modders are on it and developers can't get to it. I would like to pick up the home and call for doctor home visits, or play as doctor and make home visit some days or even a home office practice, like some of the other game play pack like dream home decorator and paranormal investigator.

Bears, Burglars, everything you mentioned would add an intense level of gameplay. I wish!

They could make the RV a rabbit hole like the tent, but with option to cook, wash, use bathroom, and sleep inside it. Maybe some of the options could be upgrades. I don't like it when my sim goes camping with a tent then I need to run through the forest in search of the one bathroom facility. Also, would be nice if they added real bears and sims could walk up to them thinking they are fake bears and then get scared and run away.

So many of the ideas in this thread are such bad oversights! I really do wonder why they weren't included.

This would be hilarious! I hate the bears, at least this would be highly amusing. :D

@crocobaura I did the campground tent rental first time ever this weekend. It was raining ever single day- could you imagine if that happened in real life without ui cheats?!!
I hope they bring rv with a band pack if they ever make a bands pack. You could make one, however not mobile- there are a bunch on the gallery some even manage to make the float in top of wheels, but not the same.

    @manicobsessive
I am actually 100% terrfied of bears, but it would make for intense gameplay. Bear can and can not attack. The usually steal food in real life. It could even be a new death type.

Really @Ararine ? Because I think they added it to Britechester and Henford on Bagley after the werewolves pack came out.

-No, my almost-elderly mother, I don't think it's a good time for you to try for a baby.
-Yes, person I barely know, you have my blessing to hang out with Johnny Zest.
-No person with the mean, hot-headed and self-absorbed traits, I don't think you should get married.

I would love so many of those. Even if they didn't do refreshes, maybe add updates to packs like they do basegame? Here, have a changing room for get to work this month. Oh and next month you'll get an exercise bike for the fitness pack.

    For outdoor retreat:

    * A buildable tent. Group interaction. Depending on your personality and handiness skills building a tent could strengthen your bonds and create memories, or lead you to recent each other and break out in arguments. Tent could have different levels of quality from poor (hope it doesn't rain or you'll be wet) to excellent.
    * Trees that kids can climb. Parents can either encourage them or discipline them for their climbing.
    * If not swimmable waters, then additions to the pools to make functional realistic lakes where you can both swim and fish. Jumping "tower" that looks like a stack of boulders and snap together with other boulders. Plants that snap to a pool's edges. Pool edges that are smooth and look like terrain.
    * More kids games and games in general.
    * A way to bathe your dog with a bottle of water or something, to get rid of the skunk-smell.

    For get to work:
    • More items for the stores, to make different kind of stores and a way to make stores fully functional without owning them. The way we can restaurants.
    • Better aliens, and a toggle to force them to stay in Sixam.
    • More actions in the active careers.

Oh wow @eleri I did not know that. I thought it was introduced to the game with werewolves. My mermaids just ended up there- is how I found out.
I started playing sims 4 in 2020 or 2021 and cottage living was 1st expansion pack I was there for. I dont remember they introducing that feature.

Yeah @JAL all those ideas! Build a tent together really is a real experience that seems like it would be fun in game!
I would really like functionable hoses to clean dogs and play with them, and wash little dogs in kitchen sink like infants.

Yeah they describe it as a live update game, but I don't think they do it enough.

Sim Base game cars, preteens, Burglars, vacation locations with hotels and resorts like Sims 2 where you can both relax and go on an adventure and venture out learning the culture and the locals. Spiral stairs, Hand holding when walking around the neighborhood, strollers because they knew on growing Together toddlers are slow and infants and toddlers would like to go out with their family in the city. Also can we please have more children playground options besides the space ship and pirate ship how about a castle, or just a regular playground. Kids and teens get summer break (no school) and kids gets activities like gymnastics, ballet, baseball etc. Playing tag and being kids like in Sims 2 and 3. Outdoor retreat summer camp for kids and teens can be counselors. Pool games and stuff like pool slides, a lazy river, play Marco Polo, swim race, do a flip underwater. Etc.

Get to Work Refresh have the option for sick Sims to go to the hospital get healed there or get a doctor's note and the sim is out for a couple days from school and work. Fix the planet sixam make it actually look like a planet.

Outdoor retreat Add hiking trails it's outdoor mountain area add hiking trails, add wood hopping and horse shoe throwing.

Dine Out Refresh the menu, have toddlers eat at the restaurant as well also update toddlers food.

Cats and Dogs Dog houses please.

Laundry Day I would like to have the option to iron or steam the clothing before putting them away.

My wedding stories Honeymoon options and veils please.

Discover University Can we please get notified of what's going around the school instead of just arriving on a lot and a pop up saying oh it's poetry night why can't get a notification saying it's poetry night at the lounge. Get invited to parties or get asked to prank the other school.

Highschool Years Refresh with in class gameplay it's called school for a reason!!! You raise your hand to ask and answer questions, sleep, do late homework, take notes that will help you with your homework. How long is Detention? How long is studying for the exam again can ask and answer questions about the exam taking notes. Uni Day for Highschool Years get a person from both UBRITE and FOXBURY to speak to the kids about school so then the players will know what teen like which school better. Also Get a rabbit hole football game like we have game in DU why not highschool years? Also getting valedictorian is hard give out tips and graduation and prom seems like it's going fast slow down the party time.

Growing Together Strollers again like y'all knew the toddlers were slow it was shown on the live stream also y'all we can't put a infant on the back and carry toddlers so the best thing is strollers and it would be cute to see around the neighborhood.

    @Briana2425

I want so much more out of a Dine out refresh than toddlers eating at restaurants. Being able to hire whomever I want, including family members. Ability to work in my own (or my family's) restaurant. Ability to live and run a restaurant in the same building. Bug fixes! Proposals at the table. More types of restaurants. Table cloths added to any table in livemode (like you set a table, but with table cloths)

@JAL that's awesome just I would like toddlers eating at a restaurant with the highchair to make it more realistic and also toddlers should be more out with the family she enjoy a good meal. I would also like a family owned restaurant and the hotpot.
