I don't know why so many of you are arguing this issue, but I'd like to restate this for the record: I am not here to argue with anyone that they give up on their game or buy any new games. I was one of those who stuck with the Sims 3 for years. I am aware there are newer players here who may not have played prior games and it was to them that I primarily directed my above advice. I stand by that advice. The most glitch expansions for Sims 3 to my recollection were the final two, Into the Future which came out last, and Island Paradise, which had a world that was often glitchy.

I don't buy the packs until enough of the bugs are squished anyway. There have been some real disasters. I know that inevitably the game will be left with unfixed bugs when they discontinue support, but I always wait to hear what bugs a pack has before I buy it so I know if it isn't too major. If it is, I'm not paying for a broken pack.

As I'm desperately trying to find a way of not saving all my Saves to OneDrive, because I have Microsoft Office, I won't be buying any new games from EA in future. For one thing I'm too old and for another thing I believe all their new games will make you be online all the time in future.

I normally find it sad when a sims game is dropped because EA moves on to a next version, but this time I feel very differently. There is no way I will start my universe from scratch again, I invested too much time into my kingdom, developing 230 years of detailed history and a rigid community structure that works and I still enjoy playing. Besides, after being deeply addicted to 4 iterations, I no longer feel like that youngster who did not mind wasting my life on computer games, LOL. It was great fun, ad there's nothing to regret, I just want to enjoy my current game a tad more, perhaps slowing down a tiny bit.

That said, I look forward to seeing what makes TS5 stand out. Perhaps they serve us something I can not resist, but hopefully might grab just a tiny bit of.

The Sims 5 is going to be free, but I am going to get it. The fact that they are planning to make it playable on mobiles or add microtransations doesn't sound too convicing. Besides I have spend too much time and money to make ts4 enjoyable.
I am buying all ts4 packs instantly though, I am going to and I don't care what some thinks or says. They have finished the previous games before releasing new version but this time they are going to continue ts4 even after ts5 release. Or at least finish it

Alot of people said the same thing about The Sims 3 when Sims 4 was coming out & now we're all in love with TS4. I predict it'll be a similar experience when TS5 drops. At first we'll all feel nostalgic and hesitant to leave TS4 behind but eventually (I hope) TS5 will grow on us.
