@becks1112 It's really not that hard. All the pictures I posted here can be done with a few clicks within seconds or a few minutes (even without skill )
I really want to encourage simmers to try. If you have questions to achieve one of the shown images, just ask.

Or a screenshot from my Star Wars-The Old Republic game with a spaceship I built in Sims 4
Ah Excellent! π
Do you use TOOL?
Is some of this CC, or are these Debug items only? As a spaceship builder myself, I do recognise most of these assets, but not all. This ship is awesome!
Great to see the creativity in this community btw! Loving all the screenshot edits. ππ½
I personally prefer working with Adobe Software (Photoshop & After Effects) and other applications to edit my screenshots.
Depending on the context, I'd modify some images more than others. I would typically crop the image and adjust brightness & contrast and hue & saturation, but I'm also a huge fan of experimenting with assets and layers and find myself occasionally animating a shot or using 3D software such as Blender or Maya in order to produce clean renders of my sims.
Examples:
Below is an animated GIF of the infinity mirror which came with the gloriously hideous (or hideously glorious-take yer pick) Decor to the Max kit. I never posted it as it may cause flicker vertigo. Be warned!

My partner does design for a living - he says it's why he's "not impressed" by anything he sees online (videos or pictures) or on tv or in movies - because he can tell that none of it is real lol. He says that literally everything we see, even from regular joe content creators, is altered in some way. And he can spot it a mile away. It's kind of nice tbh. It helps me realize that the women I see aren't actually that perfect, and some of them - aren't even real people at all.
Edit: I should say that he's not a small-time armchair graphic designer - he has a grown-up impressive job career lol. But he started out small time, when he was young. Strive for your goals, kids.

I was mainly wondering about the roof and underside of the ship, but after further inspection I managed to recognize resized Get To Work game objects, including the cloning machine, if Iβm not mistaken. Nice one, this works really well!
I must say that your space story builds - which I discovered on your tumblr - are very impressive too, especially since theyβre CC free. We can do amazing things with the βlimitedβ items available in the game, even though I will never stop asking for more!

Strive for your goals indeed!
Having worked in the creative industry since I was an innocent little munchkin myself, I have absolutely no trouble recognizing what is and isnβt βrealβ. The industry of make believe is my bread and butter, but just because I can recognize and understand how it works, doesnβt mean I will stop being impressed by what many genuine creatives are able to produce in the world of art and entertainment and beyond. My mind will never cease to be blown away by the many human-made magics that Iβve discovered and have yet to discover along the way, whether itβs created by hobbyists or professionals is irrelevant. Other peopleβs passion for creativity inspires me, thatβs why Iβm still able to do what Iβm doing (whatever it is π).
That said, Iβm a bit wary of AI generated imagery - I wonβt get into it here - but those Ai pieces are also relatively easy to spot by the trained eye.
With the exception of my social media avatars (indeed, I tend to drag my own face through film noir grain or Barbiefication (Kennification?) filters for dumb fun, not looking for dates btw π πΌ- you should see my Captain Moana - ) I personally never really use so called βart filtersβ, - if I want a comic book style photograph Iβd spend half the time literally tracing the photograph with digital ink to make it look authentic π - , but at the same time I truly enjoy when others share their art filtered screenshots on the forums and I would encourage anyone whoβs remotely interested in playing around with colors, tones, text and different art styles to try it. I would call it extended gameplay. Itβs a whole lotta fun!

Thank you @Simmingal , Iβm all for cool, dark and spooky, especially the latter!
Iβd say try out a few different banners! Perhaps portraits of your characters?
I would be very careful with animated gifs though. I had the one shown above as my signature, which didnβt last long as the constant loop drove me absolutely mental and Iβm sure it wasnβt pleasant for anyone with the signature banner set to visible.
Keep it subtle, even if itβs animated. ππΌ
@CAPTAIN_NXR7 Thank you! Oh yes, the spaceship roofs are the worst!
But I knew you would figure it out when you saw a better picture and with the information that no cc/mods are involved.
It's like a 'find waldo' ^^'
And yes, building and story telling without cc/mods/poses is less a limitation but a challenge for me that I really enjoy.
To find out what is possible. And there is really a lot possible in this game if you let it.
I would so be up for this futuristic pack they put up for choice in the survey along with the medieval pack but I know most simmers hate the whole concept ^^'
omg and those crazy gifs in the signatures! I bet they are the reason why people turn them off (and those huge images).

Very impressive work! I'd have no idea where to even start. RMS Titanic (spread along several lots) in TS2, yes; that no.
What I also do from time to time is to edit a screenshot on a TV or monitor.
This is also very easy and done in a few minutes.
Just cut out the screen, add a layer below and insert the screenshot that shows the new 'screen'.
Don't hesitate to ask if you want to try it yourself.
Here I also added the video stripes filter to make it look like a cctv recording.

Today I needed a screenshot with the truck driving snaky line.
I don't use mods so TOOL wasn't an option for me.
(Does TOOL work on places so far away from lots?)
So I took a screenshot of the road and another of the truck in a similar angle, cut out the car with the wand,
changed the color of the shadow, copy/pasted it on the road and resized.
(i could have made the shadow transparent but it's so far away and small, I thought I go for quick and dirty ^^')

We are both artists in our own way and so appreciate the artistry of our fellows, especially if it's something we can't do. Looked at your guitar post and see much the same thing as I do, only with pictures, captions, and effects - putting in a lot of time and work to get everything just how you want it. As a friend of mine says, you are the only you there is, so be the best you that you can be.
I also love the Photoscape X editor for windows/mac.
To add text and edit screenshots.
It's for free too. And very easy to use.
The ancient photo filter is great.
I used it to create the images for the couple stories and the image for the story itself.
I have a whole thread dedicated to this kind of thing. And then it kind of devolved into some kind of story I had going for a while which I have put on a bit of a hiatus (waiting for certain features to come out). I really miss doing it and I want to finish it. I will finish. One dayβ¦
I really want to get better at pose making in Blender and creating my own CC for my story but I can never ever find decent tutorials. All I want to do is take in game assets e.g. maxis CAS assets (shoes/hats/jewellery) and turn them into BB objects or debug objects that have no shadows etc and turn them into BB objects. If thatβs even possible!
Edit: just an FYI in GIMP you can save presets which makes it a lot quicker when creating the same kind of look for your screenshots. Thatβs what I did for my βcomicβ anyway.

I made another tv edit for today's episode
π Best of Buydebug βοΈ Short trips to the Oggiverse - Short Clips π¬ My Builds: Houses π Rooms π SciFi πΎ creatively edited Screenshots π¨
My plan was an epic scene where Jack plays the intro of 'Welcome To The Jungle' (Guns N'Roses) on the guitar while standing on a hill so the chords would sound through the valley.
I have zero knowledge of video editing/cutting so I remembered an old turorial I did 8 years ago on how to put custom music ingame.
I downloaded the mp4 song, converted to mp3 and put it into the 'Alternative' folder.
To let the radio only play this song I unchecked all the other 'Alternative' songs in the music options.
This alone took me quite a while, oh my.
Then I recorded the video ingame with camera angles and I wanted him to start to play when the song starts π
This took me 6 ingame hours and it went dark so i reloaded the safe hahaha
When I finally got it done the avi video had to be converted to mp4 to upload on tumblr.
And that was the worst! VLC only did it without sound and the file was too big for the free online converters...π±
I downloaded another software but that didn't work either π
But finally I was able to convert the video with the Movie Maker that was already installed on my pc π©βπ»
I dont even know how to upload the video to this post or find a link to it online -.-,
so here is the link to the post with the video, it's right after the third image.
Here is a pic of Jack (and the magic guitar of Toru) being proud of himself π£
