Free build cheat

I'm using all the build cheats but can't get bb.enablefreebuild to work. Or maybe I don't know what it does.
I read on several places that it allows you to build anywhere without constraints. If that's so, why can't I build outside the lines of the lot I'm working on?

To decorate outside the lot boundaries, you need the TOOL mod. Enablefreebuild is only for building on lots that otherwise restrict buildmode (police station, hospital, science lab, residentials other than your own).

Did you activate the testingcheats true, first? Then you can work on lots.

You actually don't need testing cheats first for the bb.enablefreebuild to work.

I use it often and have never put testing cheats on first. But, like @EnkiSchmidt said, it's only for certain restricted lots, which also includes rentals and uni dorms.

It shows that I never use these lot types if I completely forgot them.

See, I didn't know what it did! I'll have to reinstall BBB and TOOL. Haven't done that since I had to start with a fresh game.

When you said, 'science lab', does that inclued the one in Strangerville? I can think of a lot of uses for that place once the quest is done.
