More Storylines like Strangerville

I know this is kind of controversial since a lot of people didn't like the addition of a little rpg storyline (for reasons I don't understand) in Sims 4 when Strangerville was released but I personally wish that having some kind of storyline had become standard for each of the packs.

It gave the world purpose, it made interacting with random sims more fun, and it made things interesting having sims try to infect my mystery Inc group lol..

So.. why not add stories that fit to packs/expansions/etc so they don't feel so dead? Even if it's just a little one and even if it's optional unless you deliberately start it.

Vampires, Werewolves, Sulani, University, Realm of Magic, Paranormal.. The Star Wars Pack >.>.. there are tons of packs that could have little rpg stories attached that just.. didn't. And it kind of just felt like "you introduced this cool new thing but there is nothing to do in it, it's just like everywhere else even when the lore/possibility is there for it to have a storyline you can explore so why is it just.. not there?"

Maybe I'm just being demanding

Yes, I like StrangerVille GP. I hope there's a storyline in every EP/GP.
I need zodiac signs, half-tile walls&half walls&platforms, half walls&platforms with a height of 0.125 times, inverted half walls&platforms, discontinuous voice slider(mid-value can be taken) and rotating objects horizontally and vertically in a discontinuous manner(22.5 degrees per rotation).

as much as I love Strangerville I don't want every pack and every world to have intense storyline and quest to it

similar thoughts about premade lore its sometimes nice to have little bit for inspiration but if every family has predetermined lives then what I am even playing for

Yes, please! The Strangerville mystery is done exactly right, very different from the "go here, fetch this" playstyle of Batuu. The world, career and objects are perfectly useable without ever delving into the story at all and the story itself conforms to the player's pace.

Maybe next time we get a perfectly mundane world where a gang spies on the local museum inpreparation for a heist, and when the player triggers a certain point, that heist and its results (police presence, a completely trashed museum and randomly missing residents taken as hostages) go into effect. It doesn't always have to be supernatural.

In contrast to Strangerville, I'd want skills to matter a little more in the next story pack, that is my only gripe. For example all the serum making in Strangerville should have required high logic skill and the player then would have needed to decide whether they want to raise their own logic of befriend a scientist to move in. (That would of course require premades get equipped with the needed skills beforehand).

I totally agree ! And why not associate them with the private detective career that would be added in a refresh of the Get to Work expansion pack ?!

Oh did we have a ball in Strangerville 👩‍🔬
We went there several times and I built a lot of themed lots and let stories happen there.
I also love Jungle Adventure and Batuu for it's gameplay and would love to play more packs like these.

Scenarios game them the framework to build this in to any kind of pack. Pre-made households could come with a scenario that fleshes out their family bio. They could make special scenarios for each pack that you can attach to your own sim and replay again, just like resetting the mother plant. It's also so easy to ignore scenarios if players don't like them; all you have to do is load in and end it early. Scenarios for pre-mades would also give that Sims 2 flavor of loading in to a family at an important time, and taking the decisions from there.

If it was optional whether or not to play the storyline, I think this would be a really nice addition to packs.

I feel that Strangerville and Journey to Batuu are both great for changing up the your gameplay a little. I think it’s nice to sprinkle these kinds of packs in every now and then, personally I think a Hogwarts pack would be great in terms of story line, build-buy and CAS.
