Hello. This may be the dumbest question ever, but is there a way to place a big lot from your library onto a smaller lot?
You know how you can "move" a house around on any given lot and it will sometimes cut out parts of your landscaping, or other objects?
Well, if you delete everything except your house on a big lot, will the game then allow you to place that house on a smaller lot. There should be plenty of room for just the house itself.
Am I correct? Will this work? I'd love to know before deleting everything but my house on it's big lot.
Thank you so much.

Hi, and thanks. I just did it and it works great! There's no need to delete your landscaping and such because it automatically cuts off anything that sticks out of the lot.
I just had to position the house itself and then redo the landscaping. This is great to know.
FYI... the reason for this is because my bigger lot has lousy lighting but the smaller lot has my favorite lighting for shadows and great pics.
So if I'm downloading, I will typically move it onto a larger lot and smooth out some of the terrain, at least around where I expect the edges of the smaller property to be, and also look out for anything else that might be funky (like ending up with half a swimming pool), before saving it and then placing it on the smaller lot.
Hi, and thank you. Thats very insightful. I knew I couldn't place a big lot on a smaller one directly from the gallery, but now I see that you can do that from your library if you're willing to lose some stuff along the edges.
The one I was trying to do was my own build from my library, so there was no problem... but I hadn't thought about saving a big lot from the gallery to a big lot, and then from the library to a smaller lot.
Thank you so much!
Please and thank you
You are welcome!
I actually keep a whole separate save for this, where I bulldozed almost everything and then used the empty lots to test out downsizing larger lots. Only I'm lazy and behind on cleaning it up, so now it's filled with all these wild-looking unsuccessful attempts at fixing various lots. One of these days I should make a "Dali-wood" save where I put actual families into some of the weirder lots and see whether they can lead somewhat functional lives in bizarre houses.
I’m on PC but, I just go into the gallery and download it into the library. You can do this from the main menu before you even load a certain save. You just download lot rather than placing lot. I don’t upload pictures, but if you are on a PC just do it from the main menu.
Someone else may be able to help by showing pictures.
