I’m not surprised that we aren’t getting much considering we just got the infant update & an expansion pack. I don’t love kits, but I don’t hate them, either. That being said, I’m not really liking the outdoorsy vibe of this new map, so I guess we’ll see. I also think that the hot update is the Caliente refresh, which really doesn’t excite me.
Kits sound good to me after such a big update and EP. I don't want more gameplay in general right now, even though I have a few specific things that I do want.
I am playing a child for the first time, and I am playing her as a runaway. I wish there were more options for a child to ask adults for assistance in the things that they cannot do for themselves. Toddlers and infants are increasingly able to make their needs known. I want even more of that for the child sims.
If I cannot have the quirky little gameplay things that I want, I am fine with just the kits. I am anxious to know what they are.
Passionante makes me think this has something to do with romantic relationships.
-No, my almost-elderly mother, I don't think it's a good time for you to try for a baby.
-Yes, person I barely know, you have my blessing to hang out with Johnny Zest.
-No person with the mean, hot-headed and self-absorbed traits, I don't think you should get married.
It’s a momentary refuge from the chaos of the day, a place of comfort - nursery items kit? That one logo that looks like an abacus also kinda looks like the side of a cradle. It would make sense to add more nursery items on the back of adding infants right?
a space to let your imagination run free, a place for inspiration, - studio art kit sounds about right, and then that fits nicely with the logo of a pen on a clipboard.
breathe a little more deeply, a place of sanctuary - obviously the plant under a roof logo, seems like a kit but knowing they already did a potted plants kit, maybe the update...of plant sims?!

or take a brief trip down memory lane, a place to store your memories - this logo of the crack on the box looks like it could be cardboard boxes. Possibly a storage kit. Or attic kit I like that idea.

Find the familiar in the forgotten. Embrace the imperfections, the messiness,
and the secondhand discoveries - this makes me think of yardsales. I think we could potentially be getting a gameplay kit or update about tag sales of used furniture with notices that neighbors are having ones we can visit etc. I think that final black logo looks like a worn piece of old furniture. Or a hot water bottle. Or a furnace. Which would both fit the "hot" theme, although I like the idea of something to do with romance better as this would be a tie back to the old sims "hot date" expansion pack.

That sounds like a lovely pack! I hope something like it does come out for us.
Emily the sea serpent shows up in a certain lot in Get Together, and some player said that she also shows up in growing together,
I think horses are coming next either as a GP or a EP and then maybe either bands or fairies. There probably will be patch updates, maybe some kits and hopefully a roadmap for the second quarter in April.
I believe cars are still coming at some point too, but maybe not this year.
The french version is translated : "une mise à jour passionnante" (one exciting update)
Lucky you. The Dutch Sims 4 site is cancelled after the sims summit last year. I can't see any possible hints in my language anymore. Without an official blog post I didn't even know how infants would be called in my game until I did the update. (BTW in the Dutch game infants are called baby and the lifestage previously known as baby has been renamed to pasgeborene (=newborn))
Passionnante makes me think of dates and attraction. I wonder what we'll get.
The announcement hit me as being about old furniture and outdated clutter one might find in an abandoned, run-down spooky house buried in a forest. That wallpaper? And the cardboard boxes? Eww. I would never use either of those in my game. If I were inclined to play a save centered around an apocalyptic event, I might use them but certainly not in any of the saves I play now. Not my style at all. Hot New Update.....hmmm. Probably more huge outdoor activities to stuff on our small lots to add fun to our Sims' summertime days. More color swatches for the kiddie pool and the water slide perhaps? I have no idea what to expect and at this point I am still uninterested in purchasing another kit. The only one I have any use for is the Little Campers one and that proved to be a little disappointing. And don't get me started on how I feel about Bust the Dust which I disabled after just three days. How the teams managed to screw up the main gameplay feature in that kit is beyond me.
My snarky self is not happy with this '4 new kits' announcement after they hyped the pack refreshes then quit after doing only one. Dine Out, Outdoor Retreat and even Vampires could use some help. I don't have the Vampires pack, but I know many players are asking for it to be refreshed. This is all feeling a bit too much given the fact the gurus are telling us Sims4 will be around for a few more years. If EA expects us to continue purchasing packs for Sims4 it needs to put more resources into new game packs and expansions. So, it appears as though I will be playing offline through the summer. The first time I see an update is available to download, I will be hitting that 'go offline' button. I refuse to have my game disrupted again just for a kit or an update that contains items I don't want. And I haven't downloaded a single update that didn't require a restructuring of my mods folder. Besides all of that, I want to play Growing Together for a while in peace. I have an idea at least one of those 4 kits will include some stuff that didn't make it into the expansion. And I'm ornery enough to just say no to paying for that stuff. Put that stuff in an update and I'll grab it when I feel like it. Or have a spare week to spend updating my mods.

The German site translates hot update literally as "heißes Update“. Heiß can refer to temperature and romance.
We have oodles of modern styles in the game, now it's time for some retro goodies (including that funky wallpaper). Maybe we'll even get some retro electronics or appliances? That would be awesome too. Blender, toaster, juicer, landline telephone, retro console tv, mid-century modern table lamps?
And bargain thrift finds for the home? Perfect for historical gameplay, apocalyptic gameplay, poor sims and starving artists, etc.
I'll take it all!

Now if only the devs updated the game to give us the ability to build multi-household lots, I could finally build a proper functioning trailer park in Strangerville and Oasis Springs. *bats eyelashes*

The old saying, 'Actions speak louder than words' is still true By actions, EA shows that Rene is the new bright star in the sky, TS4 is now the poor relation that gets the hand-me-downs, scraps, and crumbs. Agree that it has a winding down feeling to it, not a healthy running strong.
Well after almost 10 years and Project Rene on the horizon I'm not surprised we're heading for the home stretch. I just hope there's at least a year or more between Sims 4 and Rene. There are so many awesome mods I want to try once we no longer have to worry about updates.
I wouldn’t say they’re winding down, we got a full expansion one month ago and are getting another full expansion within the next 8 months. And it sounds like a major/semi major game update too.

I hope you are correct. I'm not interested in sims 5/paralives/whatever that other one was. I just want content for this game. 2 EPs this year plus I think we will get a gamepack thus summer. Maybe the pandemic slowed things down and they are finally ramping back up.
It's official. I can no longer keep up with The Sims 4 or life in general. 🫨
What's happening? 4 kits and a hot update... goodness gracious. I do love speculating though.
I hope this is the season of Ditch The Phone and Take Me Home .
Consider the possibilities...
I’m currently investigating the case of the mysterious cardboard box icons, just like everyone else.
I have questions and - luckily - I also have all the answers:
Genuine Question: What's a prominent difference between loungewear and a radiator? Loungewear doesn't look like a radiator. What we see here is definitely a radiator. It's probably that hot-update thingie. Personally I feel very passionate about radiators.
a place of sanctuary : greenhouse/gardening clutter kit ?
Nope. That's 100% wild life sanctuary. You can see the rear end of a rhinoceros with a roof over it.
I can also tell from the way it's standing that this is a very safe and happy rhino.
artist studio clutter kit ???
Absolutely not. That's a top down view of a meat cleaver stuck onto a cuttingboard, most likely from the upcoming Comfy Cuttingboard kit.
a place to store your memories : attic clutter kit ?
I think it's just 'Attickit'. I know folks like to insist that this in fact a cracked mirror, but it's considered bad luck to keep a broken mirror in the house, so I don't think this one depicts a cracked mirror.
I'm pretty positive it's the image of a falling tree branch seen from behind a dormer window. Kudos to the artist for capturing the falling branch so well.
Ok so this is a lego man without limbs and a head...however...it looks as though the neck is still stuck to the torso. Interesting.
Pretty sure this is a build-your-own-lego-man-kit, there's no other explanation.

Passionante in French means more exciting or thrilling. Passionné is more the word for romantic passion.
But just like ‘hot update’ it could be interpreted that way.
