A High-End Life Simulator?

Okay, so I cannot speak for others but of course anyone can join in if they would like to add anything, comment or something like that.

The point of this topic is to showcase what a high-end life simulator aimed at 17+ for mature audiences could be. For example instead of calling drinks at the bar nectar, you call it what it is with even the varied reactions and consequences when one drinks too much.

For right now though my main focus is what I find visually appealing along with physics to bring a realistic immersion to a life sim. When it comes to physics, I would like everything to be incorporated such as hair, clothes and body including interacting with elements like weather (rain/snow/wind/etc), water (swimming, etc). Something else that I feel would be extremely important to me is the way hair accurately or in a believable sense behaves including all hair types from 1a to 4c. The video below goes into detail from animated movies examples but something I would love to see applied to a high-end mature life sim.

Customizable hair would be very nice such as being able to have sliders for hair length, hair types, can section different parts of the hair to have different hair types/styles/lengths/etc. And the ability to create your own hairstyle(s). Hair types, variations of thin and thick hair and so on would also be genetic. If one parent has 1a type hair and the other parent has 4c then the children could have hair types from 1a to 4c. One of the shortcomings in The Sims 3 is having hairstyles that cannot be manipulated to put a hat on. Any hats or hair accessories in TS3 has its own category meshed together with the hairstyle and is separate from hairstyles without hat or accessories.

Characters that can look something along the lines of this would be nice. Oh, and real-time ray tracing...yes please.

I also think it would be nice, DLC perhaps that could focus solely on various themes/eras/etc.

Environments that match that realistic aesthetic, please no art styles or stylized anything.

When it comes to clothes, different fabrics behave differently and is something I would like to see as well. Also shirts that can be tucked in or left untucked, pants that can be tucked into boots or covering. I would also like to see a feature of layering clothing and being able to get really creative with mix and matching different clothing assets. It would be nice too to be able to customize how the character creator looks because personally I would go for a mature modern sleek kind of style. The more options the better for players to customize the way they play and how it looks.

The video below is a bit exaggerated though, but just another example of physics in motion.

Than being static like this:

When creating characters I prefer sliders because it's a lot more precise especially when being able to see the numeric values. Not to mention one can save that data for later to reuse for the future of character creation. However if both can exist for either player where some prefer sliders and some prefer the click and manipulate directly on the character would be fine. There's a feature in Street Fighter 6 where you can not only save and share your character but also save and upload the whole creation stats of that character which seems versatile and useful to me. What if I really like how someone created the eyes or other specific areas, then that would be helpful. (5:25)

I also like the how easy it is to have multiple hair colors and creative variations that gives the player the freedom to design the character the way that they want. (4:10) There are other character creators that have similar mechanics.

There's so much advancements in A.I. so there's no excuse why routing cannot implement a learning algorithm to solve its own or other A.I.'s I'm stuck moments. I would love for characters to be able to move in small, tight spaces. Can ask other characters excuse me or move out my way, lol. Can climb on beds from any side, can climb over furniture, step over objects/characters, go around, go over, whatever gets the character unstuck or moving to their destination naturally other than teleport or using a character reset. Moveover I really enjoy the A.I. in TS3 and would be very interested to see a more ambitious A.I. by Richard Evans (TS3 A.I. Designer).

Is it possible to have character A.I.'s actually talk, think and communicate with the various other character A.I.'s in-game? Has that been done before? That might be interesting to actually hear, see and get to know these various A.I.'s.

Sounds a bit like the new Life By You that's coming out. Not sure that it ticks all those boxes yet, but it might by Sept.

Life By You is said to have a PEGI 16 rating, which means they may be trying to attract older audiences.

Life by You seems great but I don't think it's what I'm hoping for overall, especially in art direction, neither is Paralives or Project Rene (The Sims 5). I'm not into the cartoony, overly bright and colorful (Usually its the bloom effect that hurts my sensitive eyes), cross-platform type/mobile graphics.

With so much that can be done with today's technology, I'm curious to see what a life sim aimed at PC gamers can not only look like but also the amount of gameplay details it can have without holding back potential. Which is why I would find it intriguing to aim this kind of particular life sim at only PC gamers with high-end specs. I'm sure there's plenty of statistics of what's the mostly used/popular to make an informed decision.

I'm looking for this kind of visual detail.

But as I said before not here in this topic yet, but elsewhere, I'm not holding my breath. Besides I still have just as much fun with TS3 and with mods it helps to better achieve a more realistic look and vibe that fits its aesthetic to me.

And while I'm at it I found a few mods to make invisible those music/sleep effects. Yeah no cartoony effects like that in a possible new M-rated high-end life sim.

Those are some really good ideas. The hair builder video is especially interesting to me. From the games I've played where you can create a character it seems like hair variety and realism is generally lacking. Though I won't pretend to understand much about how the programming works in games it would be interesting to see hair movement implemented into a game. So far I haven't played or even seen any games that have that particular feature.

There's so much that can be done within a life simulator. I sometimes think that a life simulator would incorporate many simulators within it. For example, an economy/stock market/inflation/deflation system, driving simulator, genetics simulator, fighting simulator, cooking simulator, profession/job/career simulator, dating simulator (Open-ended as possible as I really find it restricting in terms of just tasks to check off the list, it's not really creative or fun gameplay that way for me unless where it makes sense)...yeah way too much.

Sometimes my ideals seem over-the-top but you never know. There are still people in the video game industry that actually puts a lot of thought and detail into their work and it always shows. But I'm not expecting anything really. Especially because I would like both in-depth gameplay, great graphics and realistic aesthetics which are all important to me.

It would be interesting to merge everything that makes sense into one game as the ultimate life simulator, lol.
