Ask about Sexual Orientation

Hi,

2 sims married in CAS can't tell their sexual orientation to each other because it's a top secret information.

But why it's a secret ? Is it a shame ?

I mean IRL every year there is a Pride Month where hundreds of thousand people tell their sexual orientation to strangers.
Maxis hide it as if it was illegal.

IRL straight people are also proud of their choice so I see no reason to hide it in the game.

It would be nice to reveal this information to anybody because there is no danger.

    yeah doesn't really make sense

but due to this being top secret I am now forced to interpret this as Strangerville secret
one of them must be secretly very attracted to Mother
that, just might be something to be secretive about

then again are these sims friends? maybe their friendly relationship is too low for the interaction

Lol they get married but they don't trust each other :D ?
It's not Night City, a cyberpunk dystopia where "Trust No One" is the rule #1

Note : A "Secret" Agent shouldn't tell the truth when anybody ask about career, that should be top secret :p !

Why do they need to ask? They are married, they're supposed to know this already. Anyway, can't they woohoo without knowing their sexual orientation?

Only if the Woohoo preference is compatible. If it's not, Woohoo isn't available.

    Well, then, question is answered.

Knowing or not this info, the sims will put somebody in touch with someone else no matter their preferences or the ones of the target sim.

And it will succeed even if they are incompatible :#

Shouldn't have been a Romance question to begin with, and shouldn't be two separate questions either. And definitely shouldn't take so long to ask. "Hey, question for you. You into guys, girls, or something else?"

    I agree

Friends/family may want to know each other by talking about personal topics, it doesn't mean they want to start a romance.

How to help somebody to find a partner if nobody knows the preferences ?

I wish there was a way to preset it in Settings for all sims based on gender for those of us who play that way. I already had to go into CAS for every single person to make adjustments. Now when I want the Sim I’m playing to meet someone, they have to ask the same questions again and again which is silly because I know everyone’s preferences are the exact same. Too much clicking for me.

TBH, I don't want to ask, too many Sims. Now, I could just do without the whole awkward flirty thing with strangers. Just because a Sim is flirty, doesn't mean everyone wants to flirt with them. Imagine newlyweds buying a haunted house, and some romantic ghost ends up ruining the relationship! If someone is interested in another, let them pop the question- but let the player decide if their Sim is actually attracted to whoever before feeling romantic. Otherwise, the hopeless romantic is just wasting their time.
