Hi,

After the livestream how do you rate this new EP ?

Now I think :
  • CAS : 4/5 , Male CAS content didn't convince me yet. I like the preview.
  • Build/Buy : 3/5 , Except for treehouse and bike for child, no object really got my attention.
  • World : 4/5 , Beautiful world but apartments are missing. The movie theater is appreciated.
  • Gameplay : 5/5 , Family Dynamic, Milestones, Social Compatibility and Self Discovery (Additional trait slots) are welcome.

Total : 16/20

I'm still processing all that I took in yesterday. They whizzed through some things so fast, I'm not entirely sure my brain caught it all. LOL I agree with you on the gameplay, it looks amazing. Not totally impressed by the world. Didn't see much in build/buy to be frank, at least on the building part. I did like the playhouse. I liked the look of the new bassinets and the changing table and the fact they finally fixed the highchair drama. LOL

I'm still wondering why the child has to push the bike with their feet like that? Where are the training wheels? As for CAS, I do like how we can set the dynamics while there. I'm also hoping we can take our existing families into cas.fulleditmode and do the same. If not, why was I working so hard to get my family ready for all that's coming? This is the family I wish to take through Infants, et al. With mods likely to break with the Patch, there simply is no way for me to go back and start them over. Sheesh. Not for quite some time, anyway. Feeling as if I've just wasted over a month's worth of effort, trying to get them ready. My only recourse is to rely on the changes coming as my Sims interact with each other. which leaves me dubious, at best.

    Now I think :
    • CAS : 1/5 , Cas rarely ever excites me though. It's just too much I don't like but with my 100000 peices of cc I have no problem with it. I did like that they gave elder appropriate clothes but I didn't like the infant clothes it just seemed off for an infant. And the kids clothes left much to be desired. Just not how I like to dress my kids and it seemed pretty bland. Children irl have some of the most adorable/exciting clothing! Toddlers too! I walk down the baby isle in clothes stores just to oogle the clothes.
    • Build/Buy : 4/5 , Can't properly rate this because we haven't seen everything but from what I saw we are getting some good stuff!
    • World : 4/5 , Very satisfied with the lots, the placement, the swimming area, the movies, the water park, the waterfront house. Only took one star off because I'm not crazy about the world style itself.
    • Gameplay : 5/5
    • The livestream speaks for itself! 🥰

    Total : 14/20[/quote]

I kinda would say 20 out of 20 though because the things I didn't like don't matter much to me. It was mainly visual things compared to what I like. And cc exsist for a reason lol.
Zombies, oh please oh please give us zombies!! :'(

Cute but with absolutelly no substance. Beyond the cuteness of the babies there is very little to say about this pack, I have to see the gamechangers on youtube to see if they can find something that make it worth the EP status

    My ratings are as follows:
    • CAS: 4/5 (with potential for 5/5); I really liked the CAS assets! I like the addition of more mature and conservative styles offered. Swatches are key to whether this will be a 4/5 or 5/5 for me.
    • Build/Buy: 3/5; to be fair, I didn’t pay super close attention to these assets, but I liked a number of assets presented. Nothing I’m over the moon about though.
    • World: 5/5; The environment and development teams did a fantastic job! The world seems so full of life with all of the activities and landmarks around. I know some simmers really dislike shells and set dressing, but really like the dimension they add!
    • Gameplay: 5/5; The gameplay features coming with this pack are complete game changers to how I play my game, and I’m looking forward to playing with them once I get my hands on this pack upon release!

    My Total Rating: 17/20

Based mostly on what we've seen so far:

    Now I think :
    • CAS : 2.5/5 , The male CAS is weak and the clothes are serviceable, but nothing memorable. I'm not dying to get my hands on it. But I love the babushka and some of the black hairs are really cute. Would be at a 3 if we didn't get the dreadful return of baby hairs. I know some people like them, but I think they look very off when put on the clay-like Sims 4 styles.
    • Build/Buy : 2.5/5 , Same thoughts. What we've seen is fine outside of the treehouse is fine, nothing special. Kind of wonder why they didn't make standalone slides, given how they already made a slide for treehouses. The treehouses and sleeping bags look fun - hope we can put sleeping bags in treehouses, or at least sleep in treehouses. Living in a tree sounds like a fun, but cost-effective Rags to Riches challenge.
    • World : 3/5, Beautiful world, but I would have liked a 30x30 lot - everything else is too big or too small for me. Other than that, I'm bored with empty set dressing. Like yeah we can walk around the neighborhood, but most of that is not worth exploring. At least the rabbit holes are nice.
    • Gameplay : 3/5, I'm on the fence with this one. This could easily turn into a 1/5 or 4/5, depending on how things play out. But interaction-based gameplay and relationships aren't the most exciting, since a lot of it plays in the background and is very easily manipulated. Most of what we're getting is a welcome addition, but I also need more. The treehouses, sleepovers, infant milestones, stay-overs and puzzle-building stuff have drawn my attention.
    Total : 11/20

It seems like a low score, but I'm actually interested in the pack. I put less emphasis on gameplay than CAS and BB, so those aspects being lackluster isn't a big deal. If I rated it on my own metrics, I'd give it a tentative 14/20.

I agree with this comment. I am excited for the gameplay shown though so will give it a 5/5 rating in advance.
Build/Buy looks good but they haven't shown it all so won't rate.
World is small but then that's what I like.

CAS will also have to wait until I actually have the ep however I will admit I am one of those simmers who likes surprises.

CAS: 4/5 Cute, comfortable, everyday family wear. I'm good. I don't play a lot of males in my game and for the ones I do there aren't many outfit changes so male CAS is never an issue for me. Will up to 5 if there's a nice new selection of sneakers and pumps for women.

Build/Buy: 5/5 I'm satisfied. With only one playable household I don't get to use a lot of the B/B but I'm really happy with all the new infant items and family gameplay items.

World: 5/5 I think the world is beautiful. I don't need space for every lot type in every world and again, I only play one family so the number of lots is fine. I currently have around 70 empty lots and 12 empty apartments across all worlds.

Gameplay: 5/5 So many features that add to the family gameplay experience. Not the type of features that jump up and smack you in the face but features that sort of work in the background to add realism and depth to the game.

CAS: 4/5 Good everyday-wear. Mostly basic and useful stuff.
BUILD/BUY: 3/5 I like what I 've seen but I have a feeling that the selection is on the sort side compared to other packs.
WORLD: 3/5 Beautifull visuals as per usual, but not a lot of activities to do outside your home lot. (With the exception of Gilbert Gardens).
GAMEPLAY: 5/5 Family Dynamics, Social Compatibility and Milestones are features I wanted since launch. So powerfull for storytelling. Honestly, I can allready tell this is going to be my favorite expansion. I dont think gameplay should be rated only up to 5.

CAS: 4/5. I did deduct for male CAS, but everything else was a 5/5 for me.

Build/Buy: 4/5. I could come up with a few more items it might have been fun to have, but I love Craftsman style, and there are SO many assets here that I will use over and over again. The treehouse is obviously great, I'm excited about the kid bikes, love the splash pads, etc.

World: 3/5 maybe? It's pretty enough, I'll definitely move some sims there, and I can make it work reasonably well, but I also see lots of missed opportunities. I'm deducting a full point for the "most dense neighborhood yet" claim, because that's a complete crock, unless you are counting the shell buildings. Which I don't.

Gameplay: 5/5 potentially. Depending on the number of bugs and how long it takes to fix them, this could obviously decrease. But if it mostly works as intended, this will be right up there with Seasons for me for being an absolute literal game changer.

16/20, I guess, although I would probably assign different weights to different categories. Gameplay is a lot more important to me than CAS, particularly in an EP, so I'd say over all, it feels more like an 18/20, at least.

    Oh, why not...

CAS 3.5/5 It's nice, it's serviceable, it's versitile. It's also kinda bland, but you really can't have versitile and exciting. There did look to be more options suitable for Adult/Elders/conservative Young Adults, so that's a bonus (but see also: bland)

Build/Buy 3/5 with the caveat that we haven't seen everything yet. I'm expecting to revise this upwards when the Build/Buy previews come out from the gamechangers. What I have seen looks good, if not always to my personal aesthetic. (They can't all be Paranormal and Movie Hangout...)

World 3.5/5 I'm okay with the number of lots and the neighborhoods look great, but they're all spread so far. Even in the "dense" neighborhood. Maybe it's the Pseudo city girl in me, but I like neighborhoods where the lots are closer together, like most of the base game worlds.

Gameplay 4.5/5 I'm really liking everything I saw on gameplay... except infants. Not because it doesn't look good (it does) but because that sort of gameplay has never been something I wanted in the game (I did it once in real life and that was more than enough) and I'm going to need some time to figure out how I'm adjusting my gameplay beyond simply aging them up early, since I'm going to miss my 2 days of easy parenting skill advancement.

    Total 14.5/20

No can do, like I said the mods I need for Erik to have his career, won't be there. No, I'll just have to suffer through it and hope with the interactions my Sims make toward each other will spark a dynamic, as was said in the livestream.

CAS : 3/5 This may change when I see game changers go through all the clothes, hair, and accessories.
Build/Buy : 4/5 Too soon to tell. They didn't really show off build or buy mode. If my mind changes, I'll wait for the game changers to go through it all and update this post.
World : 4/5 I actually love the world. I can't wait to move my legacy family there.
Gameplay : 5/5 The gameplay looks fantastic and I can't wait for the game changers to do an overview of it.

    16/20

So far I'm really excited and happy with everything they showed. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for this pack. This may be my favorite expansion by far.

Too early for me to rate, I'm probably going to go a deeper dive look at the contents once people post videos on them (showcasing CAS/BB and all that). For gameplay, I'll wait until the game is out and hear feedback on it (might check out carl as he seems to be more honest). The world is so-so map wise but I'm gonna wait and rate it when I get it.

The gameplay definitely looks to be the strongest of the categories, but depending on the programming and how well it's figured it could be a hit or miss. But it looks very promising.

It might be a bit to soon for me to have deeply concrete opinions. But I can give the ones that I already have so far.

    CAS: 3/5
I really like that they brought in more hairs with different curl patterns and textures. Especially ones that look better. They've been trying harder in recent years, but tbh usually still fall short. And whenever I'm trying to make sims that have hair even remotely similar to mine, I end up using CC. Because the in-game stuff is, generally, not good. Or lacks detail in comparison to other options they have. Even when they paired up with CC creators, somehow the finished product was lower quality than the mockup shown in articles, and than the creator's free stuff online.

But these looked pretty good. Especially the braid bun. The braids in it were far more detailed than a lot of the previous ones, same with the baby hairs for it. And then they carried thar through for all ages and genders. So I appreciated that. Plus there was the skin details. I enjoy that we're getting stretch marks. I wish we were able to see if they were available for everyone kid and up. As a kid who was born with stretchmarks, or rather I suppose mine were growth marks but honestly same-same, it'd be cool to add them.

The only reason this gets a 3 and not a 4, is that I generally wasn't that impressed by the clothes. I really only liked the infant stuff and that was more bc they exist and it's new. Rather than omg it's amazingly cute.

    Build/Buy: 2/5 for EP 3/5 BG (3/5 abt avg)
The infant basegame stuff us awesome and there's so much of it. I am very impressed both by quantity and quality. New bassinet, toys, high-chair, etc. Hundreds of items. So I'm pleased by that.

But we saw very little, or rather very little was pointed out as new, from the EP. We saw things we already knew as BG. They said nothing about that new toddler potty in the bathroom I saw. We really only heard about the treehouse and splash pad. Oh and the friendship bracelets and keepsake box. Oh and the oven that caught on fire. Everything build/buy was Gameplay related. Which isn't bad it just isn't showing us all that we can do. Or even really a small but reasonable portion.

So I can't be excited about what I didn't get to see that much of.

Combining the two though, I think we'll have a lot to go through and see. So 3/5 avg.

    World: 2/5
It's small, and has very few empty lots, but has multiple households. While having multiple families, or as it seems 1 prominent family with branches, and one other family, makes sense in a family pack it also takes up space. And then they have the obligatory community lots. If they were gonna do this they should've made it bigger with a bunch of empty lots.

That way simmers could choose to move in to neighborhoods, and either build or buy a pre-made home. It makes sense to want to live in the family world after all. At least once.

Or they could've given us another empty world. Bc with the size of the world's they've been giving us, and all the premades that don't have homes, anytime I start a new game, they fill up the homes. And then I have to go around trying to figure out if it's a pre-made or a random townie so I can evict more easily.

    Gameplay: 4/5

It looks interesting. I don't like the way they did friendship bracelets. And I am holding out to see family tree improvements. I'm also a little concerned about how they handled compatibility and all the pop-ups. Other than those points, it looks pretty good.
Check out my posts in the Ideas corner, and see the Simsverse living inside my head.

This is obviously up to change besides CAS and the world both earned their low ranking.
    :
    • CAS : 2/5 , Not impressed by the male clothing and hair added at all.
    • Build/Buy : 4/5 , A few interesting items obviously the tree house stands out, the splash pad than there's the public restroom baby changing table which is also great I'm all for family play on community lots. Some items we have but slightly altered or reworked such as the sleeping bags bikes and the piano are nice but I don't think much effort was put in besides the child bike to add them so build buy loses a point.
    • World : 1/5 , Lots are too far apart for my liking the available lots to build on are just too limited 12 is not enough and the open area of the world is dead. I just question every single decision made pretty world that's dead and gives players no space to build on why?
    • Gameplay : 3/5 , I'd love to give all the new game play features a 5 but once again they scared me that it will change nothing turning autonomy off in the live stream so we did not see the actual game play of the game play features just some pop ups does not give me hope. So I'm going mid range ranking till I actually see game play in action. As it is now the new systems sound great, but does it actually change anything besides endless popups?

It was a mix of new and updated game mechanics which could really improve the game, but some things also felt like base game content from 2014.
    • CAS: 2/5 The clothes didn't feel very special, there was also low resolution textures and cuts in the clothing.
      RD4ITXm.png
    • Build/Buy: 3/5 The new items for infants seemed good, the other gameplay items felt like a mix of new and updated existing items, it looks like a lot of it will work well together with other base game items.
    • World: 2/5 This looks... almost too much like base game? The world feels like existing suburban towns like Willow Creek and Newcrest... apart from the bridge I couldn't tell that it was inspired by San Francisco.
    • Gameplay: 3/5 Too early to tell, this pack could make or break the game, balancing seems to often be an issue with these new features.

    CAS: 3/5
Nothing particularly stood out to me (University, Eco and Werewolves set the bar high when it comes to CAS).

    Build/Buy: 5/5
I can probably retire my cc sleeping bags. LOVE the portable dresser (suitcase), splash pads, puzzle, bikes and treehouse - especially the fact that we can watch our sims actually build it. This category has the strongest bait for me.

    World: 2/5
It looks nice, but also a bit forgetable and I need only so many suburbs. What is needed are extensions for the urban and desert worlds, also a an uncluttered forest, just plain trees and clearings.

    Gameplay: 3/5
I apprecciate that they thought of micromanagers this time around, in that almost everything can get vetoed. But since I'm not a family/generational player, there is little here to WOW me. Basically I play same as before, but now I get mementos for it.

Definitely not a release day purchase, but too many cute additions to pass this one up forever. Waiting for a sale.

Oof, I didn't notice that before. The sweater looks really bad. Reminds me of the horrible quality of some of the washroom kit items.

I think the sweater is supposed to be mohair, which tends to produce fuzzy looking patterns in real life.

I'm fine with the hair in concept. At least you can recognize the hair texture. But it's like the plush carpet in Pastel Pop being flat, only worse because it feels lifeless. And I have a bigger problem with how awkward the cuts are. It's really ugly. and not in a fun Christmas sweater kind of way.

I also feel like it's a design that would look better IRL, as hairy shirts tend to do. But on the detailed sims, it clashes.

Too early to rate but based on livestream

CAS - 3/5 - it's ok. I don't really care much about baby clothes but they're so cute and I'm glad you can also change babies' clothes now. Didn't see much clothes for teens, male sims though.
BB - I don't really have much opinions on BB things but I'd maybe give it 3/5
World - 4/5 I bet it'll look better w/ Seasons, especially on that bridge area. And I also love Willow Creek and suburban vibes.
    Gameplay - 4.5/5

Mmm….I don’t know how to rate everything based on what I’ve seen on that livestream.

Let me start off with the easy one:

    Basegame Update: 5/5.
    • The newborn overhaul and the infant life stage both look great in my opinion. I don’t really know what else they can do to make baby players happy, but then again, I rarely have babies in my household; my opinion is irrelevant. I just give it a high rating because everything looks good to me, including baby CAS. The wispy hairstyle deserves a special mention. 👶🏻
    • I’m all for skin details such as freckles, birthmarks and scars and even though I would have preferred a brush tool for adding skin details, I’m delighted that we’re getting these regardless.
    • Pie menu overhaul. Not sure what it feels like in action, but I’m pretty confident that it’ll be easier for me to find my way through the ever growing maze of social interactions. I didn’t realize the current one is in alphabetical order! Words and numbers confuse me when I can’t see them in a somewhat organized fashion. Since I’m a very visual person, the categorized icons will be a helpful guide.

    Growing Together

    I honestly can’t tell….
The gurus primarily focused on family dynamics, social compatibility and milestones, which certainly look interesting from where I’m sitting, although I still have my reservations about the implementation of these features…
They also didn’t show off all of the CAS and BB/ gameplay objects, such as male CAS, sleeping bags, and what’s up with the kid with the binoculars that we saw in the trailer? Binoculars would be fantastic!

Anyways, I’ll give it a go:
    • CAS : 3.5/5, Male CAS… haha…who knows…but the auld ladies headscarf boosted the rating. I wish my Werebeasts could wear that thing.
    • Build/Buy : 3.5/5 , Kids bikes, plus an upgradable treehouse WITH slots for interactive gameplay objects is pretty cool. I usually create my own tree huts, but being able to build one from scratch with other sims would be a wonderful addition to my game. I didn’t see much of the other objects, except the baby stuff which seems pretty neat for baby players. Apparently functional suitcases are also available in BB, this includes a set for kiddos. Unfortunately they didn’t show us how the baby carrier exactly works. I did see a gif of a SERVO flying around with a baby on his back the other day, and now I’m wondering if he can carry it around Batuu too?! I might need an army of nanny droids transporting all sorts of wee little Chosen Ones.
    • World : 2/5 ,Dunno. Since it’s not the kind of world that excites me much, I will need to see more. The bridge is cool, but I thought there would be a national park (with sequoias) across the bridge. I can live with Doi’s explanation as to why there are no longer any sequoias in town…but why do they always use the same builders? Are they on a special contract? It’s often the Simsie girl and the Deli girl that build these. Aren’t there heaps of other “official” content creators like them? I think they should mix it up a little. Oh, but why should I - Mr. Buildy McBulldozer - care? I actually don’t.
    • Gameplay : 3/5 Family dynamics and milestones look good, but will be a hit or miss for me. I hope my rating for this goes up or remains the same, at least.

Total Get Growing rating: 12/20 Looks grand, I still need to see more.

    Based on what I have seen so far, I would give the following ratings;

CAS 4/5 - The new outfits are really cute and I love how you can potentially match with other family members. I also really liked the addition of birth marks. The only thing I wasn't that impressed by, was the hair that I saw. Some of it was really nice, but I wish there were more.

Build/Buy 4/5 - I feel like there is so much more to be seen (well, hopefully lol), but what I did see, I really liked! I really like the new toys and the treehouse! Hoping there's going to be lots of new wallpapers and floors.

World - 3/5 - I like the look of it, and it seems there are alot of lots which is great, but it didn't blow me away visually.

Gameplay 5/5 - The additions to gameplay from this pack look AMAZING. Lots of little details have gone into it, and I am really looking forward to discovering the quirks and milestones. I usually age toddler's up as soon as they become toddler's because I find it completely boring, so I'm looking forward to playing them again. I also really like how they've broken up skills into different categories, and the interaction menu, which is based on preferences!
