For example, my answer would include more tissue box variations (maybe a rectangular one and patterned swatches since you see so many patterned boxes in real-life stores), a digital clock to go on nightstands, or just more nightstand clocks in general (a classic functional alarm clock would be fun), toasters, blenders, waffle-makers, a land-line phone, a functional table/floor fan (I know there's at least a table one I think in Get to Work, but it's not functional), functional brooms, etc.
I could probably sit here for a very long time and come up with a ton of stuff, and I'll probably think of things later I forgot to add, but at this point, I'd love to see what you think of my list or what you guys would come up with. Have a great day!

- Pool tables, don't know why we haven't got them yet, maybe a technical limitation.
- Trampolines
- Food processors
- Trash compactors
- Laptops, I know we have them already but I want ones that can be used as actual LAP tops, not stuck to a table.
I would also like porch swings, tire swings, expanded playground equipment, board games, hammocks, lemonade stands, pool slides, snowcones, more watercraft options. Not sure all of that qualifies as basics though.
Other basic things I would like to see is functional fans that aren't ceiling fans (such as table or floor fans), cars and garage doors, urinals, diving boards (like the TS2/TS3 ones, not like the Get Together diving platform), in-ground hot tubs, wall-mounted fireplaces, more kitchen appliances like a blender, air fryer/deep fryer, more gym equipment like a pull-up bar, weightlifting bench, exercise bike, more playground stuff like a slide for kids (we only have slides for toddlers and the upcoming treehouse slide), a see saw, a merry-go-round.

Or a Trashcan, whatever you call it, that goes into your cabinets. That will please certain builders a lot.
And If I can add anything: Rowhouses. The closest thing we've had, I think was Sims 2's apartment system which would allow you to build apartments next door to eachother in a Row-home style. A lot of homes are built in this way EA, I know you've seen them. You've posted enough images of them. How about giving us an apartment lot where you have multiple floors and a rowhouse like structure.
I don't think exercise equipment is meant for kids. But the kids should have more exercise type activities like jump rope, hoola hoops, hopscoth, etc.

My 12 year old grandson has been using the treadmill since he was 10. He also lifts weights at school and was in track.
With adult supervision, I don't see a problem if they want to try things. In game, nothing bad ever happens to kids anyway, so what's the harm? They can even swim without adult supervision, which is something I will not let my grandson do in real life.
But I do agree with the jump ropes and such as well. But those don't require an athletic outfit to change into. So why have the outfit if not use it?
Funny story, when I first started playing Sims 4, my then 7 or 8 year old grandson would try to do the TV workouts in sync with my sim.

Things I'd like to see improved
I would also love all the non-digital versions of things (typewriter, newspaper, landline...) but perhaps in a bigger context such as a time travel-GP that would also include the option of turning off some or all of those things for everyone in game.
I seem to have gotten off topic. Oops.
Yeah, I'm glad you found it! I was going to respond to your original comment, then I saw this one. Is it from City Living? Because that's the only one I know about or have - I'm not sure if there are any others. I do however wish that a keyboard was available in base game.
