Get Famous, Discover University, Snowy Escape, and High School Years.
However, as much as I like them, my hype was taken down some notches after playing them.
City Living - Ever since we got that Metropolis EP description I was excited for this and of course, apartments.
Cats & Dogs - This pack always takes me back to The Sims 1 Unleashed and playing for HOURS so pets are always a must have in every Sims generation.
Eco Lifestyle - This came out in the middle of lockdown so I was dealing with depression at that time and was looking forward to it. After getting all of the fan favorite packs I was curious to see what they'd do with an all original content pack. I immediately moved to an apartment there.
Seasons - One of the most anticipated packs so of course I wanted to play it. Love weather in my games.
City Living - the game is in desperate need of more diversity
Seasons - I was tired of eternal spring/summer
Island Living - swimmable water and mermaids
University - always one of my favorite packs
High School Years - I wanted more for teens to do
Growing Together - I’ve been dying for a generations type pack for YEARS and better babies
Stuff pack honorable mention: nifty knitting. Being able to make baby clothes and swap them out was the biggest selling point for me. I was tired of the onesie all the time.
Get Famous, Discover University, My Wedding Stories, and now Growing Together...
^ These, plus Cottage Living. My Global Superstar, once he's graduated Uni (as a Teen, no less) will live in HoB. What better place for a fabulously famous young man to chill for a bit and wind down, let alone create beautiful music.
I'm definitely one of the weirdos that was most excited by Eco Lifestyle, though I should mention I didn't start actively playing Sims 4 until around then. I love playing realistic, lower and middle class families and also starting with zero dollars and EL is really great for that. I was actually more excited by EL than Cottage Living, just because it suited my play style more. However, I could tell EL was buggy so I waited to buy it unlike CL which I bought right away.
Even years later this is still one of favorite packs and EH is one of my two "starter worlds" (along with Willow Creek).
Eco Lifestyle - specifically for the off-the-grid lot trait and power/water generating options
Cottage Living - so I could put that 'off-the-grid' and 'farm-to-table' lifestyle into full use..... oh, and ponds!
Being self-employed, self-sufficient, and living off the land is my favourite way to play the sims. I like the challenge it brings.

1. Seasons
2. Snowy Escape
3. City Living
4. Island Living (Mermaids! Yay!)
5. Get to Work (Aliens aren't in the base game but are here, so yay!)
6. Growing Together
... Anyway I mostly get excited when occults are involved.
High School
Get Together
Parenthood
Growing Together (this may change before release if I learn its nothing but moodlet gameplay with all the new systems)
Other packs I was excited about but it fizzled before release like a vacation to the mountains without a hotel system or a restaurant where you are forced to hire npcs instead of playing your own Sims.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"
Seasons, and Discover University. A close second, Eco Lifestyle and Get Famous, Though Myshuno is still my favourite place in the game and also I like building in Glimmerbrook, but don’t really play with magicians.
I only started playing Sims 4 in 2021, some months before the release of Cottage Living, so a lot of packs were already out by then. But I got very excited by My Wedding Stories back then, and I eventually got disappointed by the reviews that I didn't buy it. I might as well buy it someday on sale.
I've had somewhat positive approach to all EPs, but usually stay a little bit reserved until release.
I think I was most excited about: Seasons - who wouldn't get excited about seasons? Get Together - this was my first EP and I was thrilled about it despite all the negativity it had at the time Cottage Living - the overall aesthetics and the animals just got me
These are some of my favourite EPs still.
Vampires also excited me a lot, probably most of all packs.
And I'm pretty excited about Growing Together!
Cats & Dogs for sure and also Island Living, Cottage Living and Snowy Escape. I was also really excited about Seasons before it was released, but it was nothing special (no new world and gameplay was buggy).
From the game packs I was most excited about Vampires and Realm of Magic.
Discover University for me. Maybe unpopular opinion but it's my favourite expansion by far. I love the pack, for gameplay, cas, building, the world, it is a great all round pack. Also the first pack I ever bought on release.
Cottage Living is a second, a great all rounder too and the second (and last) pack I got on release.
Both packs had great hype, trailers and lived up to the high expectations it set.
-City Living- after seeing the trailer for city living I knew I had to get my hands on the Sims 4. Went out and got a desktop to be able to play the game. Still my favorite expansion pack.
-Seasons- this is just always a must need pack.I loved it in Sims 2, so I was really anticipating it.
-Island living- I want to tropical world so badly for vacations.
- discovery university-I really wanted some way to differentiate my young adults from my adult sims. The social aspects of this pack left a lot to be desired.

-My wedding stories
Cottage living is the only pack I have ever bought (and probably will ever buy) on the day of release. I am a huge animal lover and I loved the world and just the whole vibe of the pack. I was so beyond excited!
Get famous was the first one that got me really excited but thinking about it I barely touched it because it didn’t fit in too well with my sims at the time. I think I went to the award ceremony once, had a semi famous writer and went to drama club.
So now I’m actually excited for Get Famous all over again when I get time to properly try it.
Otherwise actually probably this one coming out. It’s spoken to me since the first announcement and I’m really looking forward to it, genuinely think it could be the best pack, for me at least.
I remember City Living, Cats and Dogs, Seasons and Parenthood, all being really exciting releases for me. City Living was the first Expansion announcement and release I experienced after first starting to play The Sims 4. Parenthood was a dream pack for me that added so much depth and personality to the game, I still enjoy and get surprised by Parenthood to this day. Seasons as well as Cats and Dogs were just really exciting announcements because they defied what I and others thought was possible in the game. I remember before these packs were released there was a lot of doubt as to whether we would get these packs or not due to "engine limitations", and a lot of people speculated that each season or each pet would be separated into their own packs instead of one big pack.
I also remember being excited for Eco Lifestyle after watching the live stream, everything was just excellent in my opinion. A deeper bills and utilities system, deeper off the grid gameplay, NAPs and Eco Footprint to further diversify all different kinds of neighbourhoods and environments my sims can live in, Community Spaces that alternate over time similar to Sims 3's Seasonal Festivals, more crafting hobbies, new careers and more! The only thing I don't really care for in this pack is the new world, for whatever reason it doesn't appeal to me.

Get Together had me irrationally excited for clubs and the idea of making cliques or posses.
Cats and Dogs because I've never owned a pet and I want one. So at least my sims had one.
I can't think of anything else off the top of my head EP wise.
Oh well I suppose Get To Work. Though that's bc it was the first. So I was excited to see what an expansion pack was even like.
So now I’m actually excited for Get Famous all over again when I get time to properly try it.
