I think dentist career and/or tooth fairy is just a small part of whole?

Maybe it's a tooth bear-y.
On a more serious note... yeah, the babies are almost certainly the update. I am guessing we will get babies this month or early February, two kits in February (one underwear/lingerie-themed, which I know a lot of people have been asking for, and the other... hygiene-themed?), and then a Generations expansion probably around March.
As for the bear, San Sequoia sounds like it will be the neighborhood for the expansion. I'm guessing that's the righthand picture we saw a couple of months ago, with a Golden Gate-style bridge in the background and the kid on a bike. It had suburb of San Francisco-style vibes for me. But maybe there's lore about bears in the nearby mountains, or the bear could be a mascot for a local school or sports team. Either would make sense, but the bear is definitely a wild card.
I'm putting in my bets: the kits are a swimwear kit and a bathroom clutter kit. The Expansion pack is a family pack that features a NoCal-based world called San Sequoia, a dental practice career, sort of like the veterinary career, and various milestones/events related to growing up, including getting a visit from the tooth fairy.
-No, my almost-elderly mother, I don't think it's a good time for you to try for a baby.
-Yes, person I barely know, you have my blessing to hang out with Johnny Zest.
-No person with the mean, hot-headed and self-absorbed traits, I don't think you should get married.

Oh! Apologies for quoting myself, I but I just looked up Marin County (the county outside San Francisco that I was picturing) and bears... and apparently black bears were historically a big part of the wildlife in the area, but had all but disappeared in recent years, until they recently starting showing up again. So this does sort of all fit together. Maybe they will have a Muir Woods-style park, with either actual bears, or bear themes.
Odd that the expansion pack and a kit both hint towards teeth. I'd think one tooth-centric thing would be adequate.
Then again, the update and the other kit are both depicted with types of underpants, so perhaps it's just balance, or perhaps this is the season of the tooth and groin.
I mean with the new "It's all relative" Twitter banner and the name "San Sequoia" I'm expecting better family trees and the possibility to create bigger and better family trees (after all sequoias are very big trees) and maybe link family ties between existing households.
Probably also a new expansion pack with a San Francisco inspired world, hopefully family friendly for all kinds of families. New activities for all ages and child bicycles, toddler tricycles and infant strollers. Probably also the option to create new family style events with family like dinners or anniversary parties. Hopefully we could get some new events for the elderly and deceased Sims (retirement parties, funerals, home memorials, cemetery lots...)
The two new kits will probably be an underwear CAS kit and either a bathroom clutter BB or dental health gameplay kit. It would link well with some of the pics we got at the summit.
Tooth Bear-y 🥺 thats adorable lol hoping that means teething and losing teeth and dentures!! Also hoping it’s a bear because a fairies pack is on the way and they don’t want them to contradict.
It's a bear in the shape of a tooth. I think it's referring to the "molar bear" pun popular with children's dentists. The crown makes me think of the tooth fairy.
I wonder if the "molar bear-y" will be an NPC that comes with the EP, like how imaginary friends came with Generations in TS3.
The bear is a tooth, and it has a crown like dental crowns. We already saw dentures at the summit so I’m thinking dentist! But seems odd they’d have a toothbrush as a kit logo at the same time, and I’m not sure why there is a bear. But if this ‘molar bear’ thing is actually real then that might be why, I never heard that before 😂.
I think we might get dentist active career and maybe the tooth fairy.
The story behind the bear flag (known as the Bear Flag Revolt):
The California Republic (Spanish: La República de California), or Bear Flag Republic, was an unrecognized breakaway state from Mexico, that for 25 days in 1846 militarily controlled an area north of San Francisco, in and around what is now Sonoma County in California.
Apparently the bear flag design originated from around the San Fransisco area?
The bear symbol for the EP pack could just simply be a represention of the area that the new world (San Sequoia) is based on in real life (San Fransisco, California).

Update is freed babies. Kits I though would be Nursery and Bathroom clutter, but guess I saw underwear as a diaper, LOL, and with the leaked cover (if true) I skip the nursery kit idea.
EP will obviously focus on children, and the bigger family. Family tree, the hints are in traditional family portrait frames, and "it's all relative" has a double meaning but should be another hint to relatives. Being deeply into genealogy myself, I don't think these hints directs to the family of four, but the network of many households and several generations. I'm hoping for a way to diverse clans' big goals, pride, traditions and culture. The bear with a crown I first saw as the "head of the family tribe", because of the crown, and perhaps there will be mechanics challenging our sim to reach that position. Head of tribe will perhaps be able to initiate family reunions, adjust a family tribe coat of arms thing, set event and traditions etc?
I'd expect the "family reunion" where minimum 2 branches of the family gather at some park or other suitable location. Perhaps - if not being head of tribe, our sims get an invitation from a distant relative (head of tribe?) to gather. We'll meet many new relatives there, perhaps distantly enough related for a possible romantic relation even. Should be a series of fun events during such a reunion, also with activity focus on the kids. Perhaps befriending a distant old relative makes your sim inherit a hidden lot or some old family heirloom/jewelry?
Then I realize the bear looks like a tooth, so maybe we get a new version of "Clair the Bear" (TS1 or TS2?) Kids drop a tooth, put it in a glass, of water and place it outside, and during the night the bear walks by to pick it up? Ha. I have no plans f being that detailed with all my kids, but it would be cute for anyone playing family based.
Dentist career will be too detailed for me. I like teeth variation, but we already have 6-7 versions. The only thing I'd welcome was not so bright white teeth for my poor. A sparkling white smile is not the natural thing, but my sims keep their white smiles regardless of age and class. Anyway, you probably wouldn't visit the dentist to order less good looking teeth but teeth genetics could finally be introduced If your mom had a huge gap, you could inherit that, and then you could pay the dentist to fix it. I'd see Actresses, models and some Politics would gladly sell their soul to the dentist to get a perfect smile (Hm... how would Vlad do as a dentist?)

It does look like either a bear or tooth, wouldn’t make sense to get a bear EP (lol) but a tooth? a whole EP dedicated to one career dentist?
Even if it’s active career like GTW careers it’s still too small for an EP tbh

I suppose the soonest we can expect the update is on 31 Jan after the stream. The kits and EP will probably come after that.
Maybe it's a mascot .
What is the meaning ?

Perhaps the expansion is generational themed.
