I would definitely make sure that your dedicated graphics card is being recognised by the game, otherwise it will default to only using your integrated graphics card, which is typically not as good. Some laptops don't have a dedicated graphics card, but when playing this game on a laptop, you will definitely want a laptop that does. A lot of new graphics cards have been released since Sims 3 was last updated, so you may need to update your graphicsrules.sgr and graphicscards.sgr files in order for the game to properly use your dedicated graphics card.

Next, I recommend that you use nraas mods to help the game run more smoothly, especially since you're planning on playing on a laptop. Mods such as nraas errortrap, overwatch, etc. Nraas mastercontroller is also a must if you want to have increased control over your game and sims.

I hope this can help, there are a lot of tutorials already existing online which can help you figure out exactly how to update these files. A google search should bring some of them up.

    Good luck and happy simming!
I play Sims 2, Sims 3, Sims 4, and The Urbz: Sims in the City on gamecube and ds. Main Game: Sims 352033322186_3a08467dc6_o.png
