I have my child sims write in their diaries and pretend they're making their wishlists. Usually, they wish for dragons. The drawing table also works; like they're drawing pictures of what they want, and they can give them to their parents.

I might also have a parent bake some cookies, then give them to Father Winter when he shows up.

It's actually Summer in my game, so my sims don't follow my RL calendar. I find it good to play heat waves when it's snowy outside :)

When I do play up to Winterfest I might add some parcels and busy-crafting-something deco, some seasonal lights, and they might bake/eat more cookies than normal. Kids would use the activity table to craft Winterfest deco.

I'm well-passed Christmas in my game. But, I do have my Sims wait until the day before to decorate their house/tree. Then I send them to a rabbit hole (created a 'holiday' in my calendar to attend holiday services) and pretend it's the Midnight services. Up until that day, they go about their daily lives, like normal. Wouldn't it be cool if they had an interaction to allow them to wrap gifts?

I like to make Christmas Eve with holiday spirit, baking, decorating and lighting the tree and house, and Father Winter. Christmas Day I keep holiday spirit and lighting and add open presents, and Grand Meal. Depending on the family I add other activities, like play games. My parents usually read to their children at bedtime, so I pretend they are reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas" on Christmas Eve. I love holidays! If they have extended families as well as close friends, I also will have a Christmas Eve party.
