Wow Roderick is a real piece of work not visiting his own son once. Enjoyed the update though😁
Congrats on being nominated Portia, too bad she couldn’t go. Aw great news for Meg and Satoru, now he can move in! Nice that his replacement appeared the very second he retired. Congratulations Saskia and Isao. Lol that his eyes were flaring up. Aw I love that Lucy was able to tell Michael about it❤️ The room looks great, and awesome it was filled with furniture Portia created!
Adjusting to life with Meg's newly retired husband Satoru all moved in was delightful
There was always an easy supply of potions-- oh, and Meg just learned Copypasto, so now the supply is even easier
Some things are... an adjustment however
"I can't believe you're putting our son to bed in THIS bed!"
"I've had to decide a lot of things on my own up till now. And that is the bed I slept in when I was a toddler, I'll have you know."
(Flashback: Meg making a point of NOT sleeping in this bed when she was a toddler)
Grandma Lucy decided it would be fun to bring everyone to the Festival of Youth, and invited Saskia too, to catch up.
And perhaps with an ulterior motive.
"So, you and Isao have been married for days and days now..."
"Yes, Mom?"
"Well... any interest in making me some more grandchildren? I aspire to meet at least three before I die, you know."
So far so good! Unfortunately...
Meg didn't like how her husband had been talking to... someone.
I have no idea who it was. I didn't see. Meg saw though. Boy, did she ever.
"Surely you know the difference between my commitment to you and a little lighthearted flirting?"
"I don't lighthearted flirt with anyone else."
"We've lived apart for a long time. I guess we're both getting used to each other's habits. A flirty conversation like that would have been no big deal for me in the Magic Realm, provided the other person was in the mood for it. But it would never have gone any farther than a flirty conversation. Not since we've been together, anyway. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. You are the only woman in the world for me."
He has no pink bar with anyone else. I checked. Looks like he's telling the truth. Fortunately for him.
"You know my greatest happiness is seeing you happy."
He has the Good trait, so this is also literally true.
"Tell me how I can make it up to you."
"I'll come up with a few ideas."
Meanwhile, bonding is much less complicated when you're a kid.
Charlie says: This is my new friend Kumiko! We just met! She's awesome! We'll be amazing friends forever!!!
Happy to see all is going well with Satoru moving in😃
The copypasto spell looks very handy! Lmao Meg defending the bed but actually sleep in it as a toddler🤣 Aww Lucy wants to have more grandchildren. Oh no, what happened with Satouru 😵💫 Glad he didn’t have a pink bar with anyone else. I was really worried for a moment for Meg😥 Charlie and Kumiko look adorable in their selfie🙂
A little lighthearted flirting? Oh Satoru, if the other person isn't Meg then there is no such thing. On to happier topics. It's really sweet that Lucy wants some more grandkids. I hope she gets her wish! I'm happy to see that Charlie is making friends!
Meg, being dreamy, somewhat demisexual, and having the Soulmate aspiration, would see it your way. Satoru wouldn't. Fortunately he's willing to bend to help her feel more secure in the future.
Sometimes one person just has to bend.
Oh yes, you will see about the grandkids. (I'm quite a bit farther ahead than this update in gameplay still)
So Saturo retired and moved in with Meg, good for them! With this game I'm always a bit anxious when seeing sims turning elders though, that life stage is way too short for my tastes...
It looks like the two of them have some small disagreements as well, but as long as they keep communicating as they are doing now I don't think this is going to be an issue (right?)

I might borrow one sentiment from your comment for the next update if you do not mind...
And about communication, you are exactly right, Meg has idealized the soulmate thing for a long time and now she's coming down to earth and realizing there is actual communication and work to be done in maintaining a relationship (especially when they're around each other all day long). She has chosen a good man this time around though.
Meg and Satoru went to the Magic Realm. Meg was still feeling salty from what happened at the Festival of Youth.
"How's it feel being back here in retirement, old man?"
"I'm just as strong as ever."
"Oh yeah? Prove it!"
Communication is important in any marriage, but sometimes you just have to settle things on the dueling grounds.
"Uh huh. Taking the lazy route on a broom, I see."
"I'll be good and warmed up by the time you crawl through that portal, mister."
Her roiling feelings took hold of the magical energy in her and flew out with unprecedented force
Would she actually beat him, for the first time?
She saw an opening, lifted and threw him
He looked so small and helpless all of a sudden, lying there on the paving stones.
He was getting older. She'd seen it, but hadn't really thought about it until now.
How much longer was she going to have him by her side?
"Don't cry."
"I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry too."
They were exhausted, but they weren't ready for the night to end, so
They fueled up
And went out on a date.
(Which is much easier now that they both live in Mt. Komorebi and can visit adjacent worlds together)
As the sun came up, a random lady came and chatted up Meg at the bar.
Satoru seemed annoyed at the intrusion.
"How nice it is having a pleasant conversation with someone else while I'm out with my husband! Imagine how awkward it would be if it were a flirty conversation, or something!"
"Look, anytime you're ready to let this go, I am ready to let this go."
"We'll see."
They returned in the morning.
"Daddy! Yay snow!"
"Hello son, who's been looking after you?" asked Satoru, retrieving and buttoning up Toru's snowsuit.
"Aunt Portia! We went potty outside!"
Satoru sighed. "Come on, let's go see if your old dad can still handle sledding."
I love Toru's smile as he's looking up at his dad🥰
That made me sad to see Meg realizing that Satoru’s getting older. Honestly didn’t realize it until she noticed it too😳 Hope they have lots to time left together! Haha Meg still hasn’t let that got huh😅 Oh my, Toru! Cover up, it's cold out!😱
A duel to prove whether Satoru is losing strength or not, that's a bold idea! Meg realising it was very touching too...
The little Toru deciding that clothes weren't needed in the snow was hilarious instead, only toddlers could XD

On a pleasant afternoon, the family members did some socializing separately.
Charlie hung out with Cameron Akiyama, who had recently become a teen. They still have a special bond based largely on snowboarding and goofy stories.
Portia got a call from Saskia about coming over to meet their new cat.
But the cat wasn't the biggest surprise
"Hello, grandbaby! I can't wait to meet you!"
"What do you mean you got a cat? I thought we were a dog family, if you know what I mean!"
"Hey, you look a little on edge... do you want to go for a run, or something?"
"Nah, let's go in, I'll be okay in a minute. Nice to have you taking care of me for a change. You look well, by the way."
"Thanks, I finally had my first transformation, it must have happened offscreen--"
"Aaargh!"
Portia lost it on the way to the bathroom.
Meanwhile, Lucy examined the contents of the fridge. Not too much variety here.
After a few moments to herself, Portia was able to put herself right again. They sat down to raw meat and tea, like a normal family, and had a pleasant visit. Well, not everyone ate the raw meat.
Meg and Satoru went to enjoy the afternoon breezes at the park, and ran into this game-generated cosplay club! What a cool thing. I didn't realize that could happen.
Also they ran into Meg's old high school friend Tasha.
"Wow, Tasha, you look like you haven't aged a day since high school," Meg said admiringly.
"Are you kidding? I'm still IN high school! My birthday just won't come!" Tasha complained.
Huh, she's still a teen. While everyone else in the game is aging. Weird.
