Thanks @DaniRose2143 Yeah, maybe I can't help doing some storytelling as I go... Consider it unplanned storytelling.
It was a summer Saturday and the girls went to neighboring Henford-on-Bagley for a swim.
They enjoyed the peaceful river and the lushly gorgeous scenery. Brindleton's coast had a rugged beauty, and it was home, but the ocean currents were dangerous and swimming wasn't allowed.
Saskia sang to the birds.
Saskia can't sing.
The birds hid.
Saskia had fun anyway.
Meg talked everyone's ear off about Roderick Goth and her hopes for their relationship. Could he be her soulmate? Can you know these things after, what has it been, three days?
Portia has no need for this romantic stuff. Seems a lot of effort and drama. Portia is happy just to be in the park with her best friend and her sisters, sharing a simple meal with the people she loves, watching the sun go down...
Oh! Watching the sun go down. That means it's time to hustle Meg off to the prom.
Meg and Roderick had agreed to go as friends. That was ages ago, before the momentous night where their lives changed forever and they became a couple. Now they're off to the prom as a real date.
Dad made Meg pose for a picture in front of the house.
We hurried to the auditorium for 7pm and
Where is everybody?
Some odd prank?
It only has to be a ruined night if you see it that way. Quick, smile for our prom photo.
No fancy event speakers here, but a dusty boombox will do.
Let's dance.
And an after-prom party, just the two of them at the Hazakura Lounge. (Meg and Roderick can only get together in Mt. Komorebi, but there are some nice places to hang out there.)
Meg was having a lot of feelings and fears about their relationship.
Roderick awkwardly talked her through them. Or let her talk.
She had a lot to say about their relationship, given that it has only existed for three days.
Finally they went in for root beer floats. This was much more Roderick's speed. They are just kids, after all.
Ooh a new mightysprite thing! < 3 I like this so far! This challenge seems quite tough in some ways. I know that's the point of a challenge, but my impatient singular brain cell would just collapse XD
Michael and Lucy's pupper melts my heart ;-; I think if the Grim Reaper sent me a message on Social Bunny I'd pass out XD Your screenshots are always so gorgeous! I love the birds hearing Saskia's voice and flying for the hills XD
they/them or she/her - remember to only support ethical CC creators! -
@mightysprite Slice of life stories are just as good as any other kind. Your text is wonderful and enhances your lovely screenshots. I love that Rodrick and Meg didn't let the empty auditorium ruin their night. I never had one myself, but I imagine root beer float kisses would be sweet.
This looks fun. Definitely up my ally. I like it when a challenge makes you focus on parts of the game that I usually take for granted.
-No, my almost-elderly mother, I don't think it's a good time for you to try for a baby.
-Yes, person I barely know, you have my blessing to hang out with Johnny Zest.
-No person with the mean, hot-headed and self-absorbed traits, I don't think you should get married.
The Strachan family is going on their once-per-generation-allowed vacation, to Glimmerbrook!
I am very sorry that I don't remember who made this beautiful house, but it's on the gallery under the name Glimmerbrook Watch. I set it as a rental and tweaked the inside but not the outside.
Everyone enjoyed the homey-yet-magical kitchen.
The creative creator of this place included evidence that a dog had once lived here. Some leashes and stuff on the wall. And this in the yard.
Meg had a lot of fun looking at this grave! Like, her fun need went up really fast. Maybe her Gloomy trait causes that? Hilarious, if true.
Even on vacation, they enjoyed their usual activities. Lucy exercised. Michael fished.
Saskia, on her jog, met two teens who were on a scouts trip. This is Crystal Spencer-Kim, and Aarush Meshram.
I guess Aarush made an impression.
He lives in San Myshuno, so who knows how much we'll be seeing of him.
Meg, on her jog, encountered something interesting
Oh wow
She asked her family to check it out with her. Usually my sims who become casters are independent teens who are striking out away from their families, so I thought it might be fun to have one who brings her family along
"Hey, Portia, this book says magic is real!"
"I didn't need the book to tell me that, Dad..."
Soon enough Meg had gathered all the motes and Morgyn deemed her ready
Soon enough Meg was appreciating the various male spellcasters
(This is Makoto, a young adult, so Roderick doesn't have competition)
(yet?)
Saskia explored the plant sale, and bought a dragonfruit
Meg bought a very ordinary-looking broom and learned to fly! Sort of
Finally, the various occults make their various threats on social media...
Meg's relationship with Grim on social media amuses me greatly. At any rate, I always learn a lot about the game from your posts. I like how you explore so much and force the Sims 4 to realize its potential.
Poor Irven. Being a werewolf must be tough.
Saskia, Portia, and Meg all aged up well. It's cool how you decided to handle high school, but it's too bad that Meg's prom was a bust. Will you be building a new high school for the next generation?
Since graduating early, Portia had been thinking about her relationship with the werewolves in general and Moonwood Collective in particular.
Today she made her decision.
The autumn leaves fell as she made her way to the park, planning to go through the tunnels again, but he was there waiting for her as if he knew.
"I'm ready."
Meanwhile, her best friend Cassiel chatted up Jacob. Her mother and brother were werewolves, and she was thinking about becoming one too.
Portia suddenly felt afraid when Kristopher grabbed her. Okay, she knew it would be a bite, but she'd never seen gentle Kristopher snarl like that. It was scary.
"Are you sure this is what you want?"
"I--- uh huh--" she gasped.
It felt like he bit right down to the bone.
Afterward they watched the stars and Kristopher told her some more about what she could expect.
No one played with Nugget right then. This was a big disappointment to Nugget.
"Do you think you'll become a werewolf one day like your dad?" Portia asked Kristopher's son Sam.
Me? Why would I have anything to do with it? wondered Portia.
Ohh, so Portia is a werewolf now...though I wonder if her response was just nerves, or that maybe she wasn't entirely sure I wonder...either way, will be interesting to see how woof life treats her.
The description of the bite made me flinch though, haha. Hey, no ignoring lil Nugget! Go play with Nugget! If they won't play with the dog I will ;-; I wonder if Sam will end up deciding to go woof-mode in the future?

@mightysprite I finally had a chance to catch up. I'm loving this!❤️
I can't remember ever using the gloomy trait but I might have a couple of times. It's funny but fitting that they would get a boost to the fun meter. On a positive note Meg didn't fall off. It was nice of her to include the family in her magical journey. The cursed bite animation makes me laugh. They're always so eager until the big bad werewolf grabs them, then they realize 'oh no, this is going to hurt'. They wanted to be a werewolf, how else did they think it was going to happen?🤨 "Here, take two pills and howl at me tomorrow."😆
I kinda love the gloomy trait. I find it endearing. Actually, most of the negative traits can be endearing in their way, as I figure out how to play a sim with that trait. I may not ever love Evil or Mean though.
Saskia is developing her Photography skill by taking pictures of her neighborhood in fall. Brindleton Bay is gorgeous in the fall.
I had to exit without saving. No one, and I mean no one, could extinguish the burning puddle. The fire never spread beyond the puddle. And I couldn't save the game with a fire on the lot.
The description of the bite made me flinch though, haha.
Same! It seemed quite painful.
I love the post with only autumn landscape shots by Saskia. It's a nice transitional post/break. And what a morning the family had! Fires that refuse to be put out, werewolf rage... it's a lot. I'm impressed that they persevered and made it to school at all that day.
Brindleton Bay is one of the three most gorgeous worlds along with Sulani and Tartosa. They’re all so picturesque.🥰 The excuse note was cute and genius.
Before long, Portia was starting to feel furious again. She didn't want the same thing to happen as when she transformed before at home, where she terrorized her family and the neighborhood. So she left for the night. The full moon was peeking over the horizon as Jacob met her at the park.
The Volkovs gave Portia a warm welcome to their cabin. Portia prepared to stay over. Maybe she could sleep it off.
Or maybe not.
Scavenging the ground at least gave her a distraction and kept her away from other people.
The other people who were around weren't much help anyway, it being the full moon
Poor little Caitlin ran away from her family members and hid in her bed.
Portia found an interesting pot shard in the ground, and a couple of books. Finally as morning came, her rampage ended.
She consoled Caitlin. Together they repaired and cleaned the kitchen.
She cooked an excellent fruit salad for breakfast and presented Kristopher with a portion, in formal wrapping
She demonstrated how she'd learned to hunt for food.
Welcome to the pack.
She loves the hunting and the way they share everything. Now, if only they can teach her to avoid terrifying her loved ones so much? Perhaps in time.
Harvestfest is travel day in this challenge, and the Strachans took the opportunity to host a dinner in San Myshuno with the closest friends of the family.
Lucy and Portia made turkey dinner and caprese salad.
Meg, who's developing a love of singing, discovered a karaoke machine upstairs and played with it while dinner was being prepared.
Saskia discovered an easel. She'd never tried painting before, but after all those hours at the creative table as a kid, she found she really liked it.
Everyone came!
Former neighbors Rudy Hudgins, top left, and Valentina Parrott (Lucy's best friend), bottom right.
Portia's neighbor and best friend Cassiel Irving, to the right of Rudy.
Meg's boyfriend Roderick Goth, below Cassiel in the front.
Saskia's best friend Cassie Akiyama, to the right above Valentina.
At the table left to right: Meg, Kristopher, Portia, Lucy, Michael, Saskia.
Michael and Lucy, while supportive of Portia's change in general, asked Kristopher a lot of questions over dinner.
After dinner Portia and Saskia went for a visit to the Bheedas' apartment, while they were in town.
Portia won Christy's parents over to the idea that being a werewolf isn't a bad thing, it's just one more way to be.
But Portia was beginning to feel "that way" again, so she headed back to the rented hall to wait it out.
It was lonely. Was there going to be a lot of this in her life? Waiting it out, in isolation?
Saskia didn't mind, because now she had a chance to slip over to her crush Aarush Meshram's apartment, alone.
I love the excusing note for Meg and Saskia not turning up for school. Also love the pic of them all together for dinner! I'm glad Saskia has a decent support group in the Moonwood Collective...though the full moon gathering looks something of a nightmare even for another werewolf! I'm glad she managed to convince at least someone that werewolves weren't all bad, and also that she's finding a way to cope with the fury.
they/them or she/her - remember to only support ethical CC creators! -
The Moonwood Collective is the best fit for Portia. The Volkov's can help her tame the beast and not have to hide for fear of terrifying her loved ones. Khristopher's influence is showing with the diplomacy. Yay Saskia! I wonder if she'll be painting some portraits of Aarush?😊
Thanks both @SnowBnuuy oh yeah, full moon is massive chaos even among the experienced werewolves. @DaniRose2143 Yes! My other were (Laila Benali in my San Myshuno save) is probably gonna be a Wildfang, and I wasn't sure if having another teen girl were coming along would mean she'd be a Wildfang too or not, but Portia is very interested in everyone getting along and understanding one another... so Moonwood was a perfect fit.
The excuse note was hilarious in its irony, but also very fitting to the situation XD
The first phases of her werewolf life seem quite chaotic for Portia, hopefully she will learn how to control herself over time and enjoy the wild wolf life more!
