I’m feeling very nervous right now. My Mac isn’t old but since it doesn’t have the Apple M1 chipset I have run into other software that won’t run on my computer because of it. I hope this won’t be the case with this App too.

I’m nervous about this too, but I don’t think not having the M1 chip will be a problem. I don’t have M1 either, and TS4 doesn’t require it - they’d probably lock out a lot of players if they made M1 a requirement for this app.

My issue is that I’ve heard of so many problems Windows users have had with the app that I’ve been dreading it coming to Mac. I’ve never had a problem with Origin.

My worries about the M1 was the fact that the App didn't launch on Mac at the same time(thank god) and it's taken so long to actually release it. They release packs and such at the same time for both platforms, so the delay made me wonder if that was the cause.

I'm sad to see Origin go too. It's been reliable for me also, like it was for pretty much everybody. I'm trying not think too much about the issues PC gamers have had. Kind of like a certain phrase you should never say out loud unless you're wanting to tempt fate.

If anyone is having trouble logging into the EA App please click me too. I've been trying for about an hour and decided to check AHQ.

I haven't tried today, but looking at your link, it sounds as if it's been fixed.

Just for the record regarding offline mode:

This is the error message I get regularly when I play Sims 4 with the EA app set to offline mode. After some time (2 to 3 hrs) the app crashes with an error code EC:10501. The launched game survives the crash of the app and runs flawless even without the EA app in the background.

I already know the AHQ threads regarding those EC:10500 errors. Unfortunately, the solutions offered are limited to clearing the app cache or reinstalling the app. But as we have learned from other gamers, these solutions don't work sustainably.

It's working now. I was able to log in this morning. Really disappointed. (Just kidding) I was eager to see if I'd gotten a new hunky hired hand after firing the current one. 😄

I updated my EA App for the first time since before Growing Together released. I'd like to avoid updating my game, but it won't let me play without trying to repair first? But the last time I loaded my game up it was working just fine. I haven't changed any mods since then, haven't played my game since then, the only change was the EA App forced me to update it to access my game library. The last time I played TS4 it was able to run without any problems and nothing has changed so I'm not sure why it's saying my game is corrupted and unable to start.

If I do let it repair my game, will it auto-update the game afterwards? I've heard of that happening to other people before. I'm trying to avoid game updates, so I want to know what's happening before I even try anything. Is it still possible to play TS4 on EA App while offline & without updating?

That happened to me a few months ago. And yes, it updated as it repaired. I avoid updates too, but it worked, and I can play, I have the new things I could have lived without.
I've no idea what happened to my game either, when the day before everything was okay.

It makes me wonder if my game actually corrupted or if the EA App is playing a trick on me to force an update? 'Cuz I have no idea how it could have gotten corrupted when I have not touched it or put any new mods in since I last played. The only new change is that I updated my EA App...

I wondered how my files got corrupted too, or if they really did!
So have you dared repair it?
I was really nervous doing it, but it all worked out fine.
I noticed yesterday there's another update to avoid 🙄

I want to try and see if there's a work around to avoid repairing first before I give up and update. I'm afraid some of my mods will break after I get infants, and they're mods that no longer get updated so I'm taking a chance at having to completely give up on one of my save files and say goodbye to those mods before I finished playing them.

For the longest time EA App wasn't letting us start the game in offline mode, even though we're supposed to be able to, and I was busy during the summer anyways so I just took a break from simming. So I was gonna just leave it alone and wait and see if EA fixed that issue by the time I had more free time on my hands again. Now there's a new issue blocking me from playing without updating and I wanted to ask here and see if anyone has any solutions for me, or maybe give it a week or two to see if a future EA App update fixes what's happening to me, before I give up and risk the update.

I was hoping to at least finish the gameplay on those mods before I start updating again. I'm not someone that plans to never update ever. But I don't want the latest stuff right away.

Am inclined to think it is a trick to force updates. Have yet to experience your issue, but do have an app that regularly crashes even when there is no game running. Not every day, but close. The Yugo of gaming software.

I think we're right about that, because I gave up and decided to go ahead and update before trying to repair the game. And after updating everything it's not giving me the corruption message.

So yea, I'm pretty sure they're trying to lock people that don't update out of being able to play the game they paid for.

Perhaps I'm wrong, because I did recently get an EA App update and I didn't attempt offline mode before updating my game. I had just decided to back up all my saves and give updating a go before I logged in anyways.

Have yet to see an app update, only game ones. I try to avoid those as they often break more than they fix.

Unless you're actively trying to stop the EA App from updating it's already done so sneakily in the background without telling you.

Mine wanted an update yesterday. It's always a scary process not knowing what dramas will come along with it. But I didn't get any ... and fingers crossed it will stay that way!

We are talking about the EA App? Because lately I had to copy an older version back into place to get around a glitch and it's frequently trying update it without asking me.

This is why I wish we still could get the games on discs as I am now having issues with some of the games on the app. I went and brought The Sims 4 Halloween Bundle last weekend which includes the Werewolves and the Vampires GP's and Spooky Stuff and had it installed on my PC and was able to play it for a few days and now it's gone even though it shows that I own the Add-on on the EA app when I click "Get this Bundle" but they are not listed in my Managed Games tab and I can't go to each pack on the Add-ons list on the app and reinstall it as it shows that I need to buy them. I've tried everything I can think of but hopefully I can get them back from talking with EA Help as I was looking forward playing with my simself and her werewolf friend as well as with vampires... :'(

I am unable to start the EA App and therefore can not start my game. I tried going to Help Services to see if anyone else had reported it, but the Help Services in borked! Is anyone else having any problems with the EA App this morning?

I'm not aware of any issues at the moment, if this is still happening now please head over to AHQ so we can take a look.

Sorry about posting in the wrong section but I couldn't get to the Help to report it, so I posted it in Discussion. I came back to say that I called my cable company and was told there was a problem with the internet connection and that they were working on it. Sorry for all the confusion.
