How long does it take to gain fame from music production? Also, what’s the highest income you can earn? Has anyone played with music production to answer these two questions.

I don't know the exact answers, I think it's really hard to say. One of my sims does music production but I honestly have no clue. Gaining fame takes time no matter what method and I usually like to combine different methods and not just rely on one. The sim I mentioned also does comedy routines and has a day job.

I think gaining fame from careers other than acting takes a lot of time. Actors/Actresses can be famous in no time but good luck being famous as an athlete, music producer, painter etc.

I use the Road to Fame mod. My Sim, Erik Cantrell was able to rise to the very top in ten-Sim days. Mind you, he worked his assets off. Use the drone when you take your Sim out to strut their stuff, so to speak. I like to send mine down to the Orchid-A-Go-Go lounge. I also edit said lounge to add the karaoke machine, just the simple one. I had him sing, a lot. Each song comes with celebrity points. I also start him out going to the Karaoke Lounge for the Contest. I have him write songs on every instrument available, but I don't license them up front. I hold onto these until he's higher up. With the mod he can also skill up in modeling, which is nice when he gains enough 'heat' to get the magazine editor's attention. Each photo shoot earn him points. I also have him record albums via the mod, which also gains him hitbeat points. Once he's got 100/100 he's invited to hold concerts. He participates in the Get Famous Fan Meet & Greets as well as those offered by the mod.

Get your Sim out and about and in front of other Sims, using the drone to stream the moment. Sign autographs when they hit the second star, I believe it is. It's not easy and can be a tad overwhelming at first, but having had to restart this save way too many times, somewhere along the line, he rose so fast I could barely keep up. The best he's ever done was the aforementioned ten Sim days. Phew, what a ride!
