Whether it's 2 years or 4 years, I don't care. I'm going to keep on keepin' on with the Sims 4 until Microsoft is on Windows 26 and the game can no longer be played with that O/S.

Actually, now that I think about it, keeping a gaming laptop set aside with an older O/S installed (like Win 7 for example) for just playing Sims games (2/3/4, Castaways, and Sims Medieval) might be the way to go.... **mental note to self**

Which means it remains 2 years before the release date.

    Or three.
A new game is usually announced a year before release.
Time for tying up TS4 and time to go through the various phases of the marketing campaign.

If it is two years, we will probably be a abuzz about The Sims 5 only after a year or a year and a half more of TS4.

They said they've never shown anyone this early of a game before. And even though couple means 2, and few means 3; I personally don't think TS5 is gonna release until 2025/26.

I personally think we have until at least 2025 with the amount of content still to be created from polls, surveys they released years ago, new ideas, refreshes etc. At the end of the day, EA wants to make money and the team wants us to get as much as we would like out of TS4. But that's just my thinking. :)

Realistically, I do see content for Sims 4 lasting up to 2025ish. Maybe a little before that. While I'm excited to see what they have in store for us in Sims 5, I'm still having alot of fun with 4. I'm just not in any rush to see Sims 5 when Sims 4has so much stuff and even more to come.

I'm just super happy they are working on the next Gen. @Colton147147 Right.... I've been waiting so long for these games to come out. And I can't wait to play Starfield.

At least with these new Gen games coming I have that time to save up for a new computer that can keep up with it.

I want to share with you my 2 cents on this.

Let's say TS4 will end in 2 years. Do you think they will completely shut down support & updates? I guess not.
Also, TS5 will require PC with higher performances and yet a lot of players still play TS3/TS2 because they are not willing/cannot afford a much performing computer or are not willing to pay so much for a buggy game like TS4. (Note to myself, I won't buy TS5 until I am sure that the game is playable)

There will be a new generation of players switching to TS5 as soon as it will be on sale and also an old generation that will "try" it (even just to complain about what is missing compared to old editions).

But I guess they are going to put into TS4 everything they can to please all the players' requests to end this game in the better way possible.
I hope cars, burglars, spiral staircases and so on. Those two/three last years might be filled with updates and new packs and I really, really hope so! <3

Imma hopin for pre teens to make there appearance before this series ends.

The problem I see with getting pre teens this late is the amount of clothes they will most likely get ( smaller amount than other life stages ), unless they are able to wear teen and/or children’s clothing.

I have a theory about the number of EP

    The Sims : 7 EP
    The Sims 2 : 8 EP (+ 1)
    The Sims 3 : 11 EP (+ 3)

    The Sims 4 : 16 EP ? (+ 5?)

Maybe 2 EP in 2023 and 2 EP in 2024.

I just saw a popular sims YouTuber say she thought the sims 5 was going to be a cloud game and possible subscription game with paid deluxe content also. She said that way the performance will be better because it’s a cloud game instead of actually downloaded, and cheaper computers can handle it. I sure hope she’s wrong. I bought a good gaming laptop to handle my sims 4, after the first couple of expansions….. I will be holding off buying another gaming computer till I see what the sims 5 is going to actually be. I don’t mind buying extra content, I own all sims 4 packs so far, but I don’t like the idea of a subscription services.

I begin to worry about new occult.

Fairies, Zombies and Genies are still missing, Ghosts and PlantSims are still hoping an update.

    @comicsforlife

There is no point to say "couple of years" if it takes a decade. Clearly the message is "soon" instead of a far future.
The project began in 2017 so 7 or 8 years are already twice what they did earlier for the previous games.

I think soon is 3-4 years. From the look of Project Rene (Resmee! 😂) there’s a few experimental ideas being thought out. Grouping furniture, tagging who can download and cross platform compatibility etc…

I would be surprised if it was ready in under two years.

I think Sims 4 really needs to add hotels! 😎

Liking Little Bistro Kit! French cafe vibes. 😊☕️🌞

I guess they can either make preteens to wear teens clothes or child clothes.
We can see if the coming infants can wear toddler clothes or not, then we can predict

The Sims 5 will release when Elder Scrolls VI and Grand Theft Auto VI is released. o:)

In all seriousness, I hope this is true. I have no intention of buying TS5 for the first few years at least, so it would be nice to have Elder Scrolls VI to keep me entertained during that time.

Before ts4 ends I hope for:
generations/family theme oriented game packs. Or at least something for toddlers and elders.
    Horses
    Fairies
    Music bands/singers
    hotels and African based world
    cars
    Maybe preteens

I see a lot of people that request African based worlds, but think that's going to be a bit boring as there's not much going on there to make it interesting. There's big animals and safaris and little else. It will probably be like Sulani where you go and take pictures underwater.

I think we have at least a year before TS4 ends, If they do what they did with TS3 Maxis confirmed that The Sims 4 was in development May 6, 2013, they released 2 EPS later 2013 and 1 SP in September of that year, TS4 released in 2014 nothing released for TS3 in the year TS4 came out, I kinda wonder if they'll do the same to TS4 release what they have for it in one year and the year TS5 is coming out nothing will release for it. :o
