I can see that "Princess" Underfoot has another adoring fan!
And she's in the army! 😱 And she saw a spaceship when piloting a war aeroplane! 😱 (Is the timing right for it being Ion's? Um...) And someone also stole the documents she needs to pilot! 😱 So many things!
I'm particularly shocked because I was sure she was much younger, like 16 or something, so this is completely different from anything I could even remotely suspect!

What she saw was earlier than Ion's arrival. Ion arrived about two weeks ago in the story timeline (16 days to be exact). What C.J. saw happened several months before the story starts. So... nothing weird going on at all, right? Totally normal stuff. We can probably just forget about it.
She does look kind of young (probably from the way she dresses, honestly). She's an adult though ("young adult" by the game categories). I'd say she probably went straight into the military after high school. So mid twenties, maybe? Seems like a young hot-shot type to me.

As mentioned previously, I'm going to be taking a break from posting chapters for a bit as I try to deal with real life stress that happens this time of year in my job, and get a bunch of the upcoming chapters completed. It will probably be some time around the end of July when I resume, but it will depend on how long it takes me to get far enough ahead again. But I promise I am working on it, and Ion and the rest of the gang will be back for more soon.

That's the most interesting presentation I saw in a while XD
Well, after that huge appearance count of the mysterious girl (should I start to call her C. J.?) in the previous chapters I should not be surprised she put together so much evidence about Ion and Reuben, yet that was very impressive (and also worrisome, I still support Ion and Reuben above her, sorry mysterious girl XD ).
She is undoubtedly stalking Ion and the ones around him quite a lot, but she also understood a lot already. The info about Reuben's profiles was particularly funny, ("GrumpyOldGuy6" , I'm looking at you XD ).
Val is quite an interesting character as well, so she's familiar with vampires hunting and other supernatural stuff (yet she considers aliens to cross the "absurd line"), she clearly has quite an interesting background...
And now it's also the moment to start the hiatus, ahhhhh! Finding out that mysterious girl (I'll probably call her like this forever) knows so much and her motives are a huge cliffhanger where to pause a story, I really can't wait to see the following! But all the motives for taking a break also make a lot of sense, so don't worry, harsh work periods are not nice at all!
In any case I bookmarked the thread, whenever the next chapter will drop, I'll be here!

Thanks! The super detailed backdrops of San Myshuno are a large part of the reason I wanted to set a story there. I have so much fun snooping around off the edges of the "routable" area. There is a surprising amount of detail out there. Just wait. In some upcoming chapters and Season Two I start doing some "stage trickery" to make storytelling use of some of the shell buildings and out the way spots.

Fighter pilot was definitely not in my realm of suspicions for mystery girl. I'm curious why the powers that be have gone through so much effort to make her disappear, but not to make her disappear... overly confident that she won't be able to find the evidence she's looking for, or that no one will take her seriously without a background?
I love C.J's presentation, and Val's concern growing visibly by the second. Reuben's vampire profiles are hilarious ("anything involving costumes"), and I also want to take a second to appreciate the attention to detail in designing them in both English and Simlish. I like Val, but it's concerning that she knows how to find these encrypted vampire websites well enough to teach someone else how to do it -- and obviously they have to at least be open enough for these 30-50 year old bite enthusiasts to even find them. Rueben's secret really is hanging by a thread.
Take all the time you need to start releasing chapters again -- the amount of painstaking effort you take for this story definitely makes it shine, and good things are worth waiting for!

You raise a lot of very good questions! Almost like you think my story is capable of making sense or something. I'm flattered. I'm afraid my usual story writing approach is "just throw a bunch of absurd stuff in there and hopefully it will all work out somehow."
