My speculation of The Sims 5

Bren91Bren91 Posts: 297 Member
This is just my prediction. The sims 4 has two years left. I feel like they are waiting to hit the ten year mark. But they will announce The Sims 5, a year from now the month of September or maybe even a little earlier at their gaming event in the summer. And The final year of The Sims 4 will be 2024. They have now set a new presedence for the franchise to last a decade, instead of only the five year mark. The Sims 5 I believe will follow suit. It will be a decade game. And will release late 2024 or early 2025. My guess would be early 2025 with them stating an expected release date slated for late 2024 but they will delay it a bit longer, making its debut early 2025. And they will or have made plans for it to last tell 2035. I feel like this year and 2023 will have the biggest changes and updates to the sims 4 as they are wrapping things up with it. and I think we are seeing the last two years of content right now. But I predict the new expansions and game packs will slow down or won’t be as big as the prior ones because the game has so many more issues each time one comes out, I think the last two years their really going to try and tie it all together as best they can, there will still be add ons and expansions but I have a feeling their not going to be a rich with content because it’s really starting to take a toll on the game system. I think they will hype up more content but I think we’ve seen the most rich expansion packs and game packs their are too see with this iteration. I do think they should and will focus the next two years on bigger updates to make it run smoother until The Sims 5 is close to coming out. Just s theory

I don't actually disagree, but there have been posts speculating the game is in it's last year or two since 2017. I'm honestly really surprised the content is still coming, I would never have predicted that 5 years ago. In 2020 I really felt that 2021 would be the last year, but here we are. A decade of Sims 4 is a nice round number, but the truth is, we don't know their game plan. The games life run has exceeded any expectations so we're in new territory as far as game life goes. It could be one more year. It could be 10 more years (doubtful but just saying)
It's kind of sad that I have to point out that anything I say is only just my opinion and may be a different one from someone else.

I don't mind another 10 years of Sims 4, just wish it weren't so buggy and had some better features. They've cut a lot of corners with this game and I am not sure they won't do the same with Sims 5 so I am not looking forward to it.

Yeah I just think from their point a view, it’s gone this long there thinking now they got to set the presedence for the next life span for the next iteration. So their making it last tell then. Plus I don’t think the Sims 5 is ready or will be ready for at least another two years. But my guess is it’s 2 1/2 years away. I really don’t believe the sims 4 will go past the ten year mark. It’s an old game compared to what’s out now. Ten years is really as long as I see them stretching it from a marketing standpoint. And Ten is a solid number. If you notice too, The Sims 4 came out in 2014, hence the number 4. It’s going to end in 2024. The sims 5 will launch in 2025. Hence the number 5. That may sound silly and ridiculous but I think they are planning it that way. They want that timeline to match up. Because it sounds good? I don’t know. But I just see that’s how it will go. I don’t see it ending at year 8 or 9. I can see a lot of people in the board room going why would we end it at 8 or 9! What’s one more year? And it will give us more time to perfect the sims 5 and also set up a ten year mark for it. And we can make appealing packs just not with as much depth until then

Unfortunately, they set a 10 year precedent for gameplay quality. They'll need to do something about that or else I have no interest in Sims 5, let alone for the next 10 years of it.

I want real babies, more things for children and toddlers ( hopefully a generations pack ), and Hotels and casino’s at least before they wrap up the sims 4. It would be nice to also see malls, amusement parks, bands, horses and a medieval expansion too.and a a refresh for “Get to Work”…..with a simple clothing trait added, like the simple living trait.. then I will be ready for the sims 5.

I would like to see these things in Sims 5:

Multi-purpose community lots. Just imagine being able to put a game arcade, vet clinic,a gym and spa all on the same lot! There would be no more pointless lot requirements in Sims 5.

The ability to create and customize your own apartments-you can put them in any world, and you could even become the landlord/landlady if you wanted to!

The ability to create motels, hotels and inns. You could create retro hotels, fancy hotels and even medieval -type inns! You could even be the motel/hotel manager or innkeeper if you like!

No more locked lot traits! You can have whatever lot traits you want to!

    Toddlers/pets/basements/cars/ghosts/pools/graveyards/schools in the base game

A home-schooling option for kids and teens

A height slider for all age groups.

    Color wheels

    Burglars and burglar alarms

No more living in a happy, sunshine -filled Sims 4-like game. Sims 5 will contain some of the dark elements from Sims 1,Sims 2 and Sims 3. Enemies will be like Sims 2 enemies.and emotions will be like the emotions from Sims 2 and Sims 3

No more useless and pointless decor buildings

Cats/dogs/ferrets/rodents/birds/reptiles/fish as pets, and we can customize them with the color wheel

A proper farm with cattle/horses/goats/pigs/sheep/donkeys/chickens/ducks/turkeys/geese.We can also customize them with the color wheel.

No more gnomes, please. They wore out their welcome by Sims 3

Saxophones, pianos, drums, banjos, trumpets, accordions, violins and all types of electric guitars in the base game

No more annoying Sims 3-type rabbit holes.

In the vacation pack: A tropical destination,an African safari type destination, a campground destination and a snowy Norwegian type destination.

These starting worlds: A big city-type world,a snowy type world,a desert type world,a grassy world, and a swampy world.

Gyms filled with exercise equipment like treadmills, barbells, exercise bikes, etc.

The ability to properly run your own business(like in "Sims 2 Open for Business)

The ability to control pets and farm animals.

Base game careers: Medical(including Dental and Veterinarian branches), Education,Military,Entertainment,Business, culinary and travel(it would have 2 branches: Rail Travel career and Air Travel career).

No more game packs or kits. Just stick with EPs and SPs,please.

    For Expansion packs:

A fantasy/occult pack that has mermaids,Sims 1/Sims 2 type werewolves, witches, vampires, fairies and genies. It would come with a fantasy-type world that lets you create or adopt pets such as unicorns, dragons, gryphons, chimeras, and cockatrices. You can customize these mythical pets in Create-a-Pet!

A time travel pack: You could travel back to Medieval times,Victorian era,Wild West,Ancient Greece,Ancient Japan or the future!

    For Stuff packs:

50s/60s/70s/80s Stuff Pack: Has CAS and Build/buy of items from the 1950s,1960s,1970s and 1980s.

Industrial Stuff pack:has stuff for factories and warehouses

Holiday Stuff pack: Has items/CAS for Halloween,Thanksgiving,Christmas,Hanukka,Kwaaanza,St. Patricks,Easter,Valentines,July 4th,Cinco De Mayo,Childrens' Day,The Day of the Dead, and other international holidays

    OTHER:

    Base game venues are: Gym,Library,Video Game Arcade,Conveniance Store,Bar,Museum,Skateboard Park,Tennis Court,Cinema and Park.

A horoscope(like in Sims 1),and you could customize it! You could have wild and crazy party animal Capricorns, Old Fashion and Stern Tauruses, etc.

5 traits per slot(like in Sims 3). Traits would include Lazy,Cowardly,Prudish,Artistic, etc. And like in Sims 3,the traits actually would work. No more having Lazy Sims want to do a bunch of exercise,or Mean Sims being kind and friendly to everyone. Mean Sims would actaully laugh while stealing candy from babies. Cowardly Sims would actaully be afraid of different things. Serious Sims wouild actually avoid pranking others.

When your Sim gets sick,he/she would actaully go to the hospital to be cured.

Sims 5 would be 1 TB and be able to run on 2TB or 3 TB laptops and desktops.

    10-20 lots per world.

Why do you hide inside these walls?

I just hope all the loading goes away and sims finally can have freedom to move directly on our own, instead of the point n go here options. I hope its like sims 2 with more of the sims 4 contents.

I agree. I hope it’s like the sims 2 but with sims 4 look. I think there was things about each sims game that made it something special. Even my least favorite one which was the sims 3 brought open world and color wheel. They need to bring that back in the fifth game. The dark humor from the 1st and 2nd game need to be in this one. No more playing it safe. Allow the game to be challenging if that’s what the players would like have it be an option. No more idle conversations. Or at least not much of it, especially if the sims are enemies, they shouldn’t be talking to each other like nothing is wrong. Out of all the sims game including the very first one, the social interactions are the worst because they make no sense. It’s a part of the game that’s never been fixed and feels so unfinished. Two sims that don’t like each other aren’t going to randomly talk like their friends. The sims 4 highest point is how the game and sims look. It looks like a game you want to play but because of the low dumb social interactions and moods driving the personality more than the traits given, it’s poorly done and should not happen in the fifth game. To say there’s nothing good about the sims 4 would be a mistake but In my opinion the No depth aspects of it make it hard to entertain and play for hours like you could with the 1st and 2nd game. The third one feels somewhat shallow too, I can’t exactly remember why but I just remember thinking the sims in that one reminded me more of robots then sims from the sims 1 and 2. If they do the sims 5 right they should know to incorporate everything that worked well with each game into this one and stay away from the things that didn’t. Traits need to matter much more than emotions. I prefer the emotion bar that would go from high to low. That tells me if my sim is happy or content, or if their miserable. I want the to see their individual emotions displayed have more to do with their traits and individuality. Not just emotions. Emotions are not personality, their just a reaction. And personality doesn’t react the same way to most things. Emotions in this game feel disconnected from the sim I’m playing. They feel more like the game overriding my sims most of the time. Wants and fears need to make a return in a big way. I know they did in the fourth game this year but it’s still a back burner move. The wants and fears need to be a huge part of the next game like the sims 2. In the sims 2 there was consequences and rewards for wants and fears being met. It had such an impact on the game and lives of sims, to not make the next game the same way would be such a mistake. It’s a proven formula that no other sim game has topped. If they avoid this then I probably won’t even play the fifth one. Their were consequences to sims fears, if too many of them happened the sim started to lose their sanity. Which is realistic and also made for great dark humor and added just as much richness to their failures as it did to their success. I wish the guy that created the sims 1 and 2 was still around because he knew how a sims game should be made. The fact that I don’t believe he was a part of the third or fourth sequel is the reason these ones did not reach expectations. Will Wright would have known what to do and how to further the game while keeping what worked, what didn’t, what to keep and what to let go. They need someone like him working on the fifth game who understands it the way he did. But even if they don’t have anyone that does they can clearly see his vision was the better of them. And they can see from over twenty years of the sims what works and what people love and if they don’t or don’t care enough to implement it, then I think someone out there will. And it may be their competitor that’s creating a life simulation game right now. If their smart and don’t want to lose their fans to that, then they need to step up there game.
