Can't Invite A Sim (but she can cater)?

OK, this is beyond weird. In my current game, Cassandra wants to hold a gala charity event. She wants to invite coworker and friend Judith Ward. Sadly, the queen of the silver screen is not among those sims Cassandra can invite when I schedule the event... but she is on the list of available caterers (WHAT?!? Is she a method actor preparing for her next role?).
Any advice on how I could possibly invite Judith to the party?
