How to rename a world with its save games intact?

I looked around for some tutorials to rename a world, so I did that, only to discover that its save games wouldn't load, saying that 'it may have been saved with expansion pack data that is no longer present on this system', despite being the same world, just renamed.

Is there a way to get around this? Do I need CAW? Thanks!

Did you just rename the .world file? Then it won't work, since the save file can't find the path to it, so the game thinks it's not there.

I have no experience with CAW, but even if you can rename the world that way, the save would still look for the world with the old name. You would have to create a new save.
